Indeed, listening to drum and bass covers is the absolutely best way to listen to music. You really pay attention and can hear what the artists intended.
Hi Julia, I am 62 and started playing drums 45 years ago. Played some tours, some demos and CDs. I have also picked up bass and guitar. I have fun, but am deadly serious about music! You are a youngster and have all, and nothing but positive/useful elements. Your timing, syncopation, taste, bass tone, the way you touch the strings etc... You are a pro, and I value your playing and demeanor/bedside manor top notch for any serious pro band. Anyone disagree? Are you a pro? Do you play paying gigs and sessions? Just thought I had to ask. Keep it up Julia, the musicians of the world need quality bass players.
@@juliaplaysgroove you are so good to watch. I used to be in a band playing cover songs over 30 years ago, and we couldnt find a bass player. I was the keyboard player and it was decided that I play bass with my left hand on a Yamaha DX7, which had very realistic sounds back in the day. Ive always followed bass lines more than anything when listening to records so it was an easy and very rewarding thing for me to do. Obviously I wasnt playing like a proper bass player but it was a decent effort I think.
@@oddities-whatnot That's memories - the DX7 was a tricky beast. I did the same as you mentioned - had to improvise the base. I later switched the latter for a Roland D50, but the DX7 was a consideration.

Is this lil girl,,Rick James an Tina Marie's love child?,,,She is Funky as hell an can Jam!!
😂😂😂Exactly
I’m out on a limb. Lmbo. She did this. I def have fire and desire.
For the record Tina Marie was protected and treated as a younger sister by the band not as a piece of ass.
I think so
She might be.....🤣🤣🤣
Wow. Self taught? Truly amazing, a natural talent. Incredible technique and sound.
Wow, FunkTasTic! I just picked up the bass again, not that I'm EQ, when I was a teen I jammed a bit here and there, now in my 50's and have some time, want to at least be clean and decent so I can teach my 6yr old son and almost 3 yr old daughter how to funk jam a bit. You are my inspiration, Thank you!
I discovered this 2 years ago. Of all Julia's covers, it's is stil my favorite, even though she keeps outdoing herself with every new video.
My top 5 faves:
Forget Me Nots
Never Too Much
What's the Use
Don't Stop Now
Juice
Niiiice. I just stumbled across this and " You Killed It " - just a Fantastic Job. Such a Funky, In-The-Pocket . . . R&B Track. Love me some Patrice Rushen = Super Talented sista too !!! Onc Love from NYC.
Remind me by Patrice Rushen is another funky song but still great choice!
