Ok I upgraded my cpu as well from a i3 to i5 and now it only loads to the windows logo then says windows didn't start correctly, I didn't mess with the ram or anything else
I've lost count how many times an AMD CPU has came out when removing a heat-sink. Having to remove the CPU from the paste. The slow wiggle (As you did yourself) is the safe way. Thankfully, never had an issue reinstalling or upgrading the AMD CPU when that happens. Great video, sir. Thank you for sharing.
I just ripped my cpu out the same way he did, had the same issues, so this had me worried at first. Gave me a couple things to actually check, so thanks for this. Edit: wasn’t the RAM, so I’m still at a loss of what is preventing it from booting. It was still worth checking, at least.
We’re you able to get it fixed, I also took out the CPU like he did, but mine was tangled in a wire with metal box, I just replaced the CPU I checked the RAM but I’m still having booting issues :( my PC fan goes crazy also :(
@@TheAccountant1000 did manage to get it fixed, it was the BIOS that turned out to be the issue. Make sure you update that before upgrading your CPU- i didnt know that at the time either

please help me I have a prebuilt 1660gpu and a ryzen 5 2600x I decided to get a ryzen 9 5600 and I installed it and now my pc wont turn on 😭 please first time I installed it , it ran but my monitor didn’t turn on then second time I replaced it with my original the keyboard would light up but it wouldn’t turn on now I’m out of luck it won’t turn on at all. I took the watch looking battery out put it back in after 10 seconds and changed up the ram slot still no luck
many a time i pulled a amd cpu ute with the heat sink going back to am2 and 1 or 2 old intel ones, you dont rip them out they just fall out when you pull the heat sink up.there is nothing you can do if its stuck to the chip all mine work fine after,,,
Yes but you can never just assume. I have only ripped one AMD cpu out of it's socket by accident. Since then I simply apply heat to the heatsink when needed and that will enable you to properly remove it. Thanks for commenting.
@@TimsComputerRepair yup I usually let a system run for a while to get the CPU and cooler warmed up rather than trying to remove a cold heat sink from a cold CPU
So ive had a similar problem. I was gonna replace my old CPU with a new one and while i was trying to be as gentle as possible, it ripped out stuck to the heatsink. When i put my new CPU in the computer turns on but no post, but i figured out that my new one doesn't work with my current motherboard. I took that one out (wasn't ripped off like my previous one) and put my old CPU back in, but now my PC won't turn on at all with it in. I ordered a new motherboard but i was wondering if there's anyway to fix it before i replace the motherboard, or should i just wait til it gets here and replace?

Oh boy, the CPU came out with the cooler :/ Right time to watch the rest ADDED afterwards... Woah.... Just when you think you seen it all, what the heck did he do to that CPU power to make it like that. Phew I thought he seriously messed that socket up then haha. What, after all that it was improper searing of the RAM, I thought they put the old RAM back in? So they miss seated the RAM 3 times? Least it's fixed. Nice approach as always Tim

Tried upgrading my cpu spent 2 nights swapping the new and old cpu back and forth. No screen with new cpu 75% of the time. No boot for the rest. Stuck in bios settings. And changing anything results in no screen. Garbage paper weight. Guess its just not possible to change cpu and have it function.

Yeah also applying a small amount of heat will aid in removing the heatsink. Thanks for commenting.

@@lurtzz I had to put the old CPU in and update the BIOS first, then go back to the new one.

Great Video Tim.
Daz thanks.
Nice job is it very hard on the processor socket to pull out the old processor without unlocking first?
It is important if the heatsink is stuck to the cpu to be sure to pull and twist gently straight up in case you pull from the socket.
Had 16 gbs of ram figured a I’d do a simple ram upgrade of another 16 GBs of ram clocked at 3200mhz and what do I have a black screen 🤦🏾♂️
