Your fishing is next level, but your editing and production is out of this world. Nice suspenseful yet genre neutral music selection on all your vids including this one. BTW; I've seen you use a Vibe Seaghost 130 (inshore only), profish reload, malibu x13, trident 15, and what looked like some Heritage 14ft kayak. My buddy wants to get into this sport. No experience fishing or yakking. Any recommendations on a budget friendly yak that will handle inshore and eventually BTB? He weighs 260lbs.
Eric Reyna we appreciate those kind works Eric, means a lot. Budget friendly of those you named would be the X-13 from Malibu but they are built for small to medium sized anglers. I wouldn’t recommend that kayak to anyone over 220-250lbs.
ya i bet haha. it wouldnt have been my first choice if buyin a new yak but i was made an offer on it i couldnt refuse... kayak, paddle pfd fish finder and batteries.. everything i needed for 500. i havent fished BTB yetwith out just marsh and bay areas around galveston/freeport/sabine areas but i do agree its pretty heavy

Absolutely unreal brother. I've caught an atlantic sail in Florida, but a Texas sailfish is most certainly a fish of two lifetimes. I only know of one other from a yak. Nice work my man!
Thanks brotha, and yes I've seen that video enough to have dreamed about it ;). Gonna have to figure out this panama thing here soon man, you guys are pulling up some manwiches out those waters.
You sir just became a legend. That's probably one of the biggest sailfish any kayaker will land this close to shore if you where in fact really that shallow. Someone needs to make a movie about this.

Florida boy reporting in, I have launched in some serious surf but never on red flag days. The max I like a hard yellow flag day. Yall Texas boys are crazy, I like it.
Thanks for tuning in! yea unfortunately we have to deal with a very slow declining shell here so the surf can extend out a good ways at times. I love fishing Florida, wish we had what you guys have!!
What fish finder do you use on your ocean trident 15. I’m new to this ocean brand and the spot for transducer is super small. On my fresh water kayak I use lowrance elite 7sv 3&1
I’m not sure how big your transducer is since you have side imaging. The one I have equipped is the same as yours minus the side imaging. A couple of solutions... I use a clear adhesive glue called E6000. If you apply it correctly and limit the amount of bumps where it is located it should hold for a few years. Mine has been attached for over 2 years, but previous to that I did knock it loose a few times. A more permanent solution is to install the transducer inside the hull of your kayak. The only thing you’ll lose is accurate water temperature readings. That being said I’m not sure how much side scan could be effected with an in hull instillation. Here is a link on how to do that. ua-cam.com/video/K8-GBput5ms/v-deo.html I hope this helps, let me know how it goes!
Hey Chris, first time watcher here. Could you give us some idea of what tackle you use. I heard you mention braided line, and working with pinfish? Leader?
Seigler SG reel my good man! It was equipped with 30lb braid with only a stinger rig ( kingfish rig ) as a leader. I actually had two baits in the water, to the left was a ribbon fish and right was a species of bait I'm still trying to get a proper name for. I used a sabiki to get it and attached it to the stinger. Leader was 44lb stainless steel haywire twist with 1 J hook on the lead, and two Mustad Size 3 4x strong treble hooks. Oh and a duster with glass beads.
Congrats on the sailfish Sir! Well done! I'll be there fishing next week! Hope I'm as lucky! Surprised you weren't fishing with Prof Salt from Corpus! He is a machine! Check out his UA-cam channel. Tight lines!

Hey thanks GM, it was a special moment for me and I’m stoked you enjoyed it! So the lowrance is a ti7 but unfortunately didn’t last long due to water intrusion. On this kayak you can mount it inside the hull but you’ll sacrifice incorrect water temp readings. Check out this video: ua-cam.com/video/3u1d3_UeD3k/v-deo.html If you are offshore in this kayak just be sure to use dielectric grease on all your terminals and break the unit down to keep it away from surf damage.
No Gregory, no motors where used in getting to the destination. We where only a few miles off the coast. The motor you do hear was a friend of ours on a little boat helping with videography and safety if needed.
What’s a good size reel for offshore, would 4500 be good or would it be better to start with 5000 and above? I’m looking into purchasing a 4500 penn slammer lll ?
HukedUp Fishin the reason I ask is because the texas coast isn’t very deep for kayak anglers unless you’re mother-shipping. A 4500 isn’t uncommon if your working 50ft of water. Florida in the other hand you can easily get into 200-300 ft of water which wouldn’t be ideal for a 4500.
Chris! Bro that was fucking legit!!! I’m from San Antonio and now I’m Virginia kayak fishing out here. Man I need to make a trip there and hit the waters with y’all. Bad ass video!! 🤙🤙

Well, a few variables come into play. How deep of water are you fishing?
Pretty soon I want to start going offshore on my yak, I’m sure you know I’ll be in pretty deep water lol
Thanks for tuning in NF. Let us know when you’re in town!
yoyo.. Is that a SG Truth/Seigler reel?
Yes sir, it’s the first gen before all the name changes. The original name was Release Reels.
