  • Today I talk a little bit about why our gut instinct to shield children from people, places & experiences that provoke anxiety can sometimes make the situation worse and I consider how we can instead support and scaffold them to break the anxiety cycle.

I use avoidance as a coping mechanism and it honestly inhibited me in so many ways 😩 Only learning this now, thank you!

I force myself out every day under serious opposition of my own mind. I know it's just trickimg me into thinking I'm going to regret it. I never do. Its just a little bully in my mind that wants me all to itself. It will not win. I will take it out with me and show it a good time. Im the boss 😂

Do you have any tips on how to do this as an adult?
I'm avoiding my college homework. I have ADHD and "homework" is a "bad experience". But I need to do this.
Scaffolding is an interesting idea, but I don't know how I would do that with something like this.
