Forging a Nakiri Kitchen Knife | PeacefulBuilds #1

- Hello and welcome back to a new video in the new year!
This might be the start of a new series I’m calling „peaceful builds“ at the moment. My idea was to make a relaxing video with a peaceful atmosphere and acoustic music. The goal also is to upload shorter builds under 10 minutes, which is a bit challenging for me since it’s still hard to decide, which parts are unnecessary. If you want to help me with that, let me know what's the most interesting thing for you to watch!
I forged this Nakiri out of 1.2067 (52100/L3) steel, wet ground it to zero, and gave it an African backwood handle. All in all, it was a classic Japanese style which I really enjoy making at the moment!

I'm a really big knife guy, I probably know over 100 custom knife makers and have seen over 5000 knives. But this knife is one of the most beautiful knives I've seen yet. The design and level of perfection is just perfect in my humble opinion (also a fan of a lot of your other knives). So keep it up, you're an awesome maker💪

I recently thought that many of my knives look too simple and puristic and that I have to change that. But I see that some people prefere that over some wild and crazy designs, so thank you for your opinion!

Der Bandschleifer macht tatsächlich eine unvorstellbare Sauerei, ich habe es mittlerweile aber weitestgehend in den Griff bekommen😄 ich habe ihn noch etwas weiter eingebaut und eine große rechteckige Wanne statt den Eimer drunter gestellt. Das funktioniert schon um einiges besser 👍🏼

Das Video ist schön geworden. Ich habs laufen lassen, als ich ein neues Video für meinen Kanal geschnitten habe. :D Ich würd nur die Hintergrundgeräusch noch etwas anpassen. Das Schleifen mit der Maschine vielleicht etwas leiser machen. sonst Top!

Hi geiles Messer , UVV beim bohren KEINE HANDSCHUHE , gilt auch beim Sägen( bin mir nicht sicher ) die Finger sind schneller weg als du denken kannst.
Danke, ja das weiß ich sogar... im laufe des Tages werden die Handschuhe zu zweiten Haut und dann vergesse ich die abzunehmen. Muss ich mir unbedingt abgewöhnen.
