    Well glory hallelujah. A Nerdy Pastor video that’s not going to break the bank 😂. I’ve been buying the Frame volumes one by one already and I have the three Hodge volumes in my Logos library.

    Thanks so much for your labors, Pastor. Appreciate your videos a lot. Very helpful stuff. You're really not helping my addiction to purchasing Systematic Theologies, though!

    Best systematic on soteriology? Specifically in conversion, apostacy, saving faith, union with Christ, pastoral implications of who's a Christian, who's not, etc?

      What a great question, brother. I would say Beeke's Volume 3 on "Spirit and Salvation" is fantastic, as well as Hodge's Volume 3, "Soteriology" in his ST. I also would recommend Calvin's 1 Volume (1541 edition), particularly look at chapters 3-6, 8 and 17. Lastly, while not a formal volume of ST, I highly recommend Anthony Hoekema's "Saved by Grace", one of the best overall single volumes on Christian soteriology.

      @@thenerdypastor2778 Thank you sir! I just read Peter Marcus Johnsons "One With Christ" and it just turned the lights on for how everything fits together, so I'm wanting to find other authors to expand on all things related. Appreciate you!

      @@commanderchair That's a great book!

    Could we get a video on how you read a book? I'm thinking practically how as a busy pastor do you read a book. I see that you put tabs in there and write in the margins, can you explain what your system is?

      Great question, brother! I actually did a 3-part series a few years back about how to do just that. I would direct you to those videos on my channel and pray they are of help to you!

    Nerdy Pastor, what about Systematic Theology by Robert Letham? I got it because you said it was no.4 in your top ten.

    • @thenerdypastor2778
      @thenerdypastor2778  5 місяців тому +3

      I can't believe I forget to include Dr. Letham's (I missed his volume on my shelf). I would rank it between a 4-5, it's not overly technical, but still engages with word studies and original languages. Also engages a lot with modern theology, which isn't as familiar to people. It's such a fantastic 1-volume. Thank you for this reminder, brother! I'll mention it on my final video in this series, since I accidently skipped it.

      No, it was written separately as an introduction to Systematic Theology.

    Panentheism, we'll get to that later...
    Yes, you haven't mentioned Bavinck yet. And he is most definitely Advanced.😂

      Yeah, I forgot to circle back to Panentheism ha. And yes, Bavinck's 4 Vol. will be featured in Part 3!
