AD. As part of an ongoing collaboration with Sky Cinema where I get to review films to recommend each month from their Sky Cinema Club, I have chosen Paradise Highway, staring Frank Grillo, Juliette Binoche and Morgan Freeman. It is premiering on Sky Cinema on the 17th of June. The film is about a truck driver who has been asked to smuggle some illicit cargo, by her brother who is doing time in prison. She has to make some tough decision when she turns up to get the cargo and it turns out to be a teenage girl. It had a few moments where I was uncomfortable watching this movie, due to the lack of communication between the truck driver and the teenager. This was a very thought provoking movie but it definitely does show in the end that humanity does exist through the sorrow. Another film showing on Sky Cinema is Don't Worry Darling staring Harry Styles and it comes to our screen on the 23rd of June. It would be great to know what you think of Paradise Highway and as always if there are any films that you recommend please drop them in the comments.

Loving the wildflower paths! Great to reduce the grass and increase all the lovely flowers for the birds and bees. The natural look really suits your garden and the woodland.

It's easiest on cut flowers to immerse them in water as soon as you cut them. Get yourself a tall big old plastic bucket and carry that around, then you can take them inside to arrange. You can still arrange the entire bouquet in your hand as you grab them out of the bucket of water.

My wildflowers took the second year when I sprinkled sand over where I’d thrown them. It was then clearly evident I’d used too many 😮per sq m.

We’ve planted several wild flowers areas with great success...I would suggest scuffing up the grass turf to expose some of the soil first, than mix the seeds with some sand and place all into a hand held grass seeder which helps to spread the seeds more evenly; after they are spread use a piece of cardboard or a flat board, laid on the ground and step on the board. This will help to push the seeds into the ground to help maximum the seed to soil surface contact -do this for the entire area. Than water them in...not sure how your seed mixes come in The UK. Here in the USA we can get a variety of mixes to attract insects etc- the mixes may only have annuals, perennials plants or a combination of both...it’s possible some of the seeds may require cold stratification so if planted in the spring/summer season they will not flower until the following year...best of luck with your patch...your bees and butterflies are going to love them 🐝

For a wild flower meadow, you really need to establish yellow rattle to subdue the grass.

Beautiful bouquet! Chicken Pox as children can lead to something called "Shingles" later in life. My grandmother developed it and about once a year she would have an outbreak of red swollen areas on her skin that were sore, her joints hurt worse around that time, she felt ill and ran fevers. If I remember correctly, it can be dangerous for a person who has not had chicken pox before to be around the infected person during a flare up. I don't remember how or why..I worked in a nursing home and whenever a patient had a Shingles flare up, only those of us that had chicken pox as kids could take care of the patient/enter their room. So all the people who got the chicken pox vaccine--therefore never having chicken pox--couldn't be around them. One time my little niece was eavesdropping on a conversation about chicken pox and asked "What is chicken pox?!" she was very concerned..one of my family members responded "It's where you wake up one day covered in itchy spots and feathers come out of your bum!" haha..her eyes grew wide and another person corrected him "Noooo, he's just kidding with you! You won't grow feathers out of your bum!" but you could still see her face "but I'll still have spots?" LOLOLOL Guess you'd have to be there...LOLOLOL

A very nice vlog. I think that the wildflower you have growing is lovely but it looked better when there was some organization to your garden. I think having some wildflower is very pretty but there is quite a lot now. The height of those wild flowers takes away from other work you have so diligently done.
