Huh. I'm guessing GT Omega may have changed their design. I'm sat in one purchased only a week ago, and that is not the hole pattern I'm looking at (I've corrected for yours being other way up from what I'm looking at). Currently getting very cheesed off at fitting pedals, and am now also worried that the wheel will be trouble too! 🤦
Ah yeah maybe they have updated it then, mine pre-dates the CSL DD! I'll pin this comment.
I’m literally typing my card in to order the titan for my DD GT pro, same pattern as the CSL DD with CSL pedals. Are you unable to mount the wheel base without drilling and the pedals don’t fit either?
@@ljcsponger87 First off, I should preface this by saying that this is my first ever rig, and my first wheel/pedals since the original PlayStation. So I may well be setting it up wrong, which is why I'm watching these videos again. That being said, the pedals are currently bugging me. The front two screws go in fine, but the pedal frame is so long that it extends past the end of the Titan base, and the holes don't quite line up enough to get the last two bolts in. Again, this may well be a me problem rather than a hardware problem. But so far I'm not seeing how. Haven't tried to attach the wheel yet, but might give it a dry fit in a second so can give you an answer. I have several holes more than Karl's shows though, so it may well be fine.
@@urinal2001 understood, thanks for the follow up. I emailed GT Omega and I’ll keep eye out for your follow up. This is my first rig too and I’m having second thoughts if I need to modify it out of the box
@@ljcsponger87 The wheel base fits perfectly. I set the T bolts in a square layout rather than the triangle, as I figure four points of contact is stronger. But the three point/triangle configuration looks like it would work without any drilling. Now I'll get back to shouting at pedals! 😂
I've been having a blast on my csl dd . Got v3 peddles mod set coming in soon, also handbrake and shifter all fanatec. Playing with all the menu in the base is wild. a little touch here, a little touch there. Definitely a game changer for me. Thanks for all the videos that lead me to be where I am in this sim world.
Your a Gent! I purchased the stand few months back for my g29 But the wife is now a widow to sim racing and ive pre ordered a csl dd! So happy days, cheers bud 👍
Thanks Karl! My DD is still on the "process" stage and the estimate of the availabilty is as far as late April, but now i can do the proper adjustments on my wooden rig before that.
Thank you so much for this. I have my rig and waiting for my DD Pro supposed to be here late in the day tomorrow.. so now I can do some prep work
Hey Karl just ordered a Titan with your code and got just under £24 off, thanks Karl keep up the great work
All helps mate! Thanks :)
Thanks, very useful Kart!
Just purchased a playseat evolution with a seat slider for my nipper ( he's 9) and he has nicked my Logitech. Now I am in the market for a new wheel. My eyes are spying up a CLS DD.
lol can't go wrong with one mate, decent little DD! :)
Thank you
Was looking for a video like this. Just drilled 3 x 6.5mm holes to secure the DD Pro Base with M6 Bolts. Now onto the pedals. So Challenging 🤣
For anyone wondering the holes are updated on the titan now. So u can run 4 bolts now no drilling required. Also there s an updated peddle plate it has 0 flex.
Excellent!
Fanatec have a hard mount planner on their website, which contains a 1:1 A4 page with suggested hole placements too :D
Very handy! thanks
You can download a 1:1 scale template from the fanatec website.
Very handy!
I got my titan about 5 months ago " btw thx again for the nice discount bud" and I jst got my DD pro this week. Now the wheel base and wheel were no probs wat so ever, but the pedals pfffff, the two heellplate holes are grand but any other holes complete nitemare. This might sound a bit blue Peter but two or four heavy cable ties work a treat, for base pedals obviously.
I used two cable ties to hold the back of my V3's down for ages as holes didn't line up, no issues at all so long as they are tight down :)
I had same problem. Remedied it by filing the two holes downward, so that the bolts can move a few mm in that direction. Drilling two holes below didn't work as it moved them TOO low. Bit of a faff tbh. No way to mount the accelerator in the furthest right position as I would really like, but it's still fine, if not ideal.
Thanks karl I bought the titan using your discount code. Just one question, what length M6 bolts did you use to screw it to the Titan plate? Cheers.
I think they were 15mm mate, but I can't be 100%, not very long ones though thats for sure!
Perfect timing. My gt dd arrived today, I currently have a playseat challenge but planning on getting the Titan. But for the meantime I have to use the clamp because I don’t know the measurements for the holes on the playseat. How did u mount yours to the playseat challenge?
Would you believe some holes lined up on my PSC so bolted straight on!
@@KarlGosling really? None of mine lined up. I had the plate on the furthest back position and there was no hope.
Whats size bolts do I need for wheel base and pedals?
Hi, could u possibly do a tutorial or just explain how to mount the csl dd on the gt omega apex and if they are compatible.
I don't have an Apex mate sorry.
Does the GTOmega Titan use a 4 bolt pattern for Fanatec direct drive wheel bases? It looks like 4 bolts was an option.
If it did you would think I would have used them?! Was so long ago that I fitted it but for whatever reason I had to do it this way, might have been a clearance issue but I'm not sure.
Alright carl i watched your video on the peddle mod u done i have a gt omega titan and was looking to do the same thing with the seat slidders for the peddles but was wanting to ask you is the seat slidders all i have to get as the holes that are on the peddle deck seem very wide for it to work would i need to get an extra plate to attach them as your the man for any modding best regards charlieg
Charlie I've replied to your other comments mate, you'll just have to get the sliders and see, they should bolt straight on to your pedals (you can bend the bar to suit) and then to your rig.
@@KarlGosling sorry my man nothing had came up utube great algorithm dead on il grab a set and give it a try gdman thanks
Hey I was able to mount mine without drill holes it was the same version as yours I’m pretty sure I just used the 1 of the set of two holes on the sides and the middle one at the front hole
I think it's been updated since I made this video mate.
@@KarlGosling Yeah Ik but I'm pretty sure I have the old version considering I got it about 2 years ago now don't know how different the holes are but mine looks exactly the same. I wonder if you ask them if they could sell you the newer stuff because that would be so much better regardless. Thanks for your awesome videos btw big fan
Are those holes in the csl base on the bottom?
Not seen this mentioned but do you get bolts to go with the T nuts or do I need to order these for my CSL DD? I will be direct mounting the base to 18mm Plywood so would be handy to know the hole size of the nut and the depth so I can order 4 the correct size for when I receive my wheel base etc. Can anyone help me with these sizes? Thanks :) (My CSL DD is on order, 27th of April supposedly)
You don't get bolts, but they are M6 mate.
@@KarlGosling Thanks very much for that Karl, I was going to get the desk mount but would rather spend the money on the metal pedal pads, purely because they look better lol. Like others here I went all in, 8nm base, handbrake, shifter, pedals with load cell conversion and the Xbox Rally wheel. My only other issue is getting it all in the house and swapping my Logitech set-up with the Fanatec stuff without my missus noticing 🙈🤣
My Titan from late 2021 but I didn't need to drill anything so completely confused. One bolt in the middle nearest the front of the wheel, then two (one either side) at the rear.
My only annoyance is I can't stop the tray moving up and down when pushed and pulled hard.
Yeah I can't remember as it was a while ago but I wouldn't have done this if I didn't have to?! lol Another viewer says he has more bolt holes than me to maybe thats it?
Do you think the playseat evo seat would fit on the GT Omega Titan cockpit? Thanks.
You could make it fit.
@@KarlGosling Thanks for the quick reply! How much better is the titan than the art? In terms of flex.
Karl do you ever do any open events that the public can join. Would love to share the track with the man who helped me get into sim racing
I don't mate no sorry, I'm a rally guy so do very little circuit racing.
how is everyone finding the wheel position, angle, things like that on the titan with the dd mounted ?? pedals I understand might be a bit finicky, (debating the xl titan, or a 8020, and some sort of seat) very new to the sim racing, not sure if its a phase, or life changing experience, heh. the titan look is nice, since i will be sliding it between the sofa and tv, then back to the side.................well, pulled the trigger on the titan xl, hope i made a good choice.
I'm sure you'll be fine with it mate, it's a good cockpit for it's price! :)
@@KarlGosling thank you, and thanks for your detailed videos, it was a great help
Hi Karl, I've got the CSL DD and titan. I used 2 T-nuts in both of the outside slots and aligned them to the pre drilled holes. Maybe this isn't as strong.
@Rob Pearson, I do the exact same thing, two T-nuts in the outside slots. It lined up perfectly for me. I've had zero issues.
@@corentco good to know 👍 are you also using CSL pedals? Not sure whether to ditch pedal plate like Karl did.
@@robpearson8099 I'm currently using the last generation CSL Elite pedals w. loadcell brake pedal on the provided (angled) pedal plate from GT Omega. It took me quite a while to find a comfortable GT position though. Karl did mention in his video and in a comment to me about mounting them directly to the base. I may look into doing so when my new set of pedals arrives shortly. I have a new set of Clubsport V3s in the post right now.
Yeah two will allow for a little flex but probably not enough to notice, I went with three to be sure as I was testing it for review.
@@KarlGosling I am able to get four total T-nuts and bolts to line up. Two per outside channel. It's not going anywhere! ;)
Bit random but i wana get it out there and i think this is a good channel bring it up on, but when do you think we will get hand tracking vr in racing games. I wana be able setup my rig the same positioning as the ingame car and have hand tracking. Imagine the videos that could be done with that o.o and the imersion would be next level. I duno just on my mind thought id share. And GG on the vids. Very informational.
It certainly would be very cool! But I think it's a way off still, hand tracking is clunky at best right now.
GT Omega stuff wasn't pre drilled for the old CSL Elites? As far as I know you can put the t-nuts in a compatible position (same with the CSW) at least Fanatec says that in their compatibility video.
I don't have a driller and just ordered a CSL Elite plate from Wheel Stand Pro for my wheel stand, to have it here when I will get my CSL DD. I will be very dissapointed if it won't be compatible. :D
Must have been?! But I needed a hole.
@@KarlGosling I don't see the exact size on the video for the plate, but if you look at "upside down", wouldn't that match (since you can move the t-nuts)? I mean to use the 1 center at the top of the plate, and two on the bottom (next to where you drilled). As far as I can see online (I never owned a CSL Elite) it would've matched, but probably I'm mistaken. Or maybe it wouldn't be that stable?
Where I can I find a GT Omega Titan in the UK?
I think it sold out in a day when it was back in stock week before last so probably nowhere right now :(
doesn't the channels in the csl DD line up perfectly already for the normal fanatec 3 hole pattern? so no drilling should be needed on any cockpit
Not on the Titan, I've not tried on anything else though.
@@KarlGosling I’ve got a gt omega art and the CSL dd bolts straight on with the precut holes
@@KarlGosling fanatec pattern is one hole at the front and 2 at the back
Yeah mine went straight on, one T nut on front and two at the rear
Hi Karl, have you tried any other dad's on the titan at all?
Dads?! lol I think you mean direct drive wheel bases so yes I have, the 16nm Moza wheel was tested on the Titan and it hold up fine.
@Karl Gosling got to love auto correct lol, have you tried a simagic or dd1 at all on the titan?
DuckDuckGo "fanatec drilling template csl dd" and fist link gives you the PDF with all dimensions...
You could also just go to the Fanatec site, but that doesn't answer how I fitted it to the Titan which is what people are asking :)
