  • Got something to hide? Spare key, specialty key, money, passwords, memory card, flash drive and much more can be easily stashed away. This video covers how to make magnetic cases that you can hide in so many places plus alternate options for non-magnetic secret storage. Plus I show some good indoor & outdoor hiding spots with a focus on protecting the visible angles to make sure your secret stuff isn't found by accident.
    Parts and tools used in this video:
    * Plastic storage case (ex. project box, gum/mint container, cassette tape box, memory card container, etc.)
    * Neodymium magnets (I'm using magnets I salvaged for free - see my video link below for more info)
    * Piece of card stock, heavy construction paper or thin cardboard
    * Tape / double stick tape
    * Hot glue
    * Wood block (optional: used to smooth surface)

    another great and easy DIY! my son kept locking his keys in his car and the hide-a-key magnets boxes aren't strong enough to hold reliably (especially with our roads) so I took a strong key ring placed a spare on to it........now here's the part that was so simple i cant believe i never thought of it before....... i simply hooked a medium size carabiniere to the keyring and then found an unobtrusive spot to clip it to up under the chassis. where it clips on, it doesn't rattle and worse comes to worse, he has to rub a little dirt or mud off of it.

      Awesome idea! Agree totally about needing a secure storage if you want to drive the car with the hidden key in place (I have only used the magnetic kind when I'm doing something that doesn't make it easy to carry the car key). A little dirt clean up is much better than calling a locksmith, etc. Thanks for the comment!

      @@DialedInDIY your DIY would be fine because of the quality of magnet you used. I meant to mention that I was talking about the magnetic hide-a-key boxes one can purchase at most anywhere you can have a key cut. if I had seen this before I did that, I probably would have followed this diy.

      Thank you SOOOOOO much for letting me know. I copied the link from the new YT editor layout and did not even realize it was not the actual video link. I had to go back to the classic version to get the video specific links, which I have now fixed. Thank you again very much for letting me know.
