  • Dryer not starting? This video demonstrates how to test a three terminal switch on a gas or electric dryer. The start switch, door switch, and selector switch are commonly replaced parts for a dryer that isn’t starting.

    Hi, Can you please explain why when i check the thermistor does not read anything even when I use the new fuse. Thank you for you help

      The thermistor has a high resistance. It may not be showing up on your meter unless you change the scale to read it. Thermistors do not go bad very often. Replacing the fuse will not have any effect on whether the thermistor checks good or bad. Also you should remove at least one of the wires going to the thermistor to check it. If you leave the wires connected you may get a false reading from other components back feeding through the circuit.

    Cant open the whirlpool gas dryer back to get to the selonoids and sensor due to the gas line connector. Or afraid to take the back of dryer off because of the gas line.
