I too was a teenager when these figure came out and I was attempting to collect them at a time when I was renting horror films from a local rental that had a 5/5/5 deal (5 movies for 5 days for $5). I absolutely loved Suncoast since it was my most favorite store to ever exist, and I deeply miss them to this very day. So, I have a lot of nostalgia for these figure with some of them being unique and just as cool compared to todays age, especially based on characters that Neca has neglected to do. Specifically Brundle Fly, The Djinn from Wishmaster, and Pumpkinhead. The only other type of horror figures I remember seeing at the time were the R.I.P. horror dolls from Spencer Gifts.
This was a long time coming!
Does this mean Pegwarmers is back?
Hoping to be back to regular releases. We are still experimenting a bit to streamline production.
Welcome back! Glad you're back!
Yes! ALL the Mcfarlane stuff please!
Good to have you back guys!!!! (This is my favorite crew btw)
I was probably 3 when I first saw Nightmare on Elm Street. When you still think Santa and stuff like that is totally normal, let's just say, it scared the hell out of me.
Thank god we got a new episode
Next week is a Live Episode.
Welcome back! This was an interesting episode, I never bought the movie maniacs but wanted to learn more about them. I hope we get more episodes of Tony just obsessing over all things McFarlane lol.
I'm sure we will!
Finally my week is complete. Great to see a full episode again. Thank you for all the work you guys put in.
We are hoping to have full episode going forward, but we will be experimenting a little with format and the next few months are my busiest time of the year. Fingers crossed for no more interruptions.
I can’t wait for this
I hope you enjoy it!
I think we are lucky to get these at all. I’m happy that they were able to come out. It started a brand new trend something that wasn’t on the market.
Yeah, it was something new for sure.
@@Pegwarmers that’s when I started collecting never look back, and then my collection is massive. And actually inspired me to make Custom figure‘s which I do to this day and make the figures of the companies don’t make you can look in my videos you can see different videos of my collection, different videos of figures I’ve made it all the interesting people I had a chance meeting by doing this.
A great episode and good to have you back!
Thanks!
Great episode. I love seeing the three of you talking about toys.
Thanks for the support!
🎶Talking about Toys🎵
Loved the initial Movie Maniacs lines! Went hogwild over em for the first three or so series….remember getting Series 1 Freddy from Suncoast in Palmer Mall over in Easton, PA….also kinda remember the first ones were kinda difficult to find. Every year, Toy Fair was an event to see what figures McFarlane was gonna do for the new series. But man, it kinda lost me when he started dipping into non-Horror figures and exclusively Terminator, Aliens, and Predator. Great episode and welcome back Kevin! Great to see Tony From Hack The Movies and Joe from Movie Dumpster!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Also, an episode on Terminator toys - including the Kenner T2, Future War, and T2: 3D variants would be cool.
It would most likely get broken up into more than one episode. We will see.
My parents got me Ghostface for Christmas back in '98 or '99. I was in elementary school and it blew my mind. That Christmas I spent all of my K-Mart gift cards buying up the rest of the series. Unfortunately I treated them like action figures and they did not last long.
When my wife and I began dating she got me the King Kong for our first Christmas. He still exists but is a but beat up (my son attached to him as a baby and played with him a lot.)
Glad you enjoyed them! Tony's are broken and he didn't play with them.
11:05 Bet the man, Joe!! Bet him and WIN!!
Glad you're back. The trick to those sticky plastic figs, is oil. Use olive oil. For some reason it works. Has to do with replacing what is breaking down.
Can't Olive Soup go rancid? Mineral Oil I would think would be safer.
another major aspect of the McFarlane Movie Maniacs figures that they didn't cover and ones I sadly never had growing up, were the 18 inch figures. they had one based on Ash Williams, one based on Michael Myers with a button that played his theme, one based on Freddy Krueger which was the same exact post as the 8 inch Series 4 figure, and easily the best one of the bunch and one that I'd still love to track down at some point, one based on the original Gunnar Hansen Bubba Sawyer aka Leatherface.
This is a line that should’ve been up my alley, but like Kevin, I was in my HS or college years. Money was tight and went more to movies or comics than toys.
You can't collect everything!
@@Pegwarmers I should probably sharpie that on my credit card.
1. Ever since you switched things up, I haven't been getting notifications. I could probably fix that on my own.
2. I'm endlessly disappointed that there was never a black and white Norman Bates variant.
I think I fixed it.
Yeah, I think a lot of people stopped getting notifications after Hiatus, because we've seen way less traffic. A B/W Bates would have been good.
From Tony talking about tapes to talking about toys!
So happy to watch the show back from Hiatus, I was actually born the year most of this figures came out (97), so sadly my parents didn't buy me any of the figures
Yeah, these aren't for babies.
Love that new table!
It's a nice table!
This is awesome keep up the good work!
Thanks!
@@Pegwarmers Your Welcome!
This is like avengers endgame for podcast another great episode hope we get more shows Kevin
I plan to keep it coming!
We NEED a Terminator dedicated episode!
Love Pegwarmers but I really miss Talk about games/the cinemassacre podcast. Hope everyone there enjoys the holdays!
Thanks for your support! A lot goes into making these shows and everybody has a lot of different projects going on.
I still have my Movie Maniacs Predator 2.
the 2 best movie maniacs for me it will be seth brundle and pumpkinhead.
Rightfully released just days before Halloween
Like we planned it or something!
Hurrah!!!
9:37 Didn't Kenner produce the Aliens toy line in 1992?
Great Episode Guys. Question, Kevin did you watch gargoyles back in the day?
I did watch Gargoyles, but I think I was late to it. I watched a good chunk and always liked it.
I had a Giant Leonardo that I gave to my nephews a few years ago. Their mom had to throw it away because it started smelling up their room so bad, and yeah, it does smell like B.O.
Weird! Hope it doesn't happen to all of them.
I'm probably the minority here but I kinda miss Spawn figures being just statues. I've been waiting for great Mortal Kombat figures for nearly 30 years and the ones McFarlane put out are cool but..imagine how much cooler they'd be if they were pre-posed and ready to display. Its just a shame seeing as the only MK statues that are out there are pretty goddamn pricey.
Team Labyrinth!
Dance, Magic, Dance!
Didn't McFarlane release a Rock & Roll legends line with Jim Morrisson, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix etc.
Yes they did.
Tim Curry is cool and all in Legend, but once Mia Sara get's that black dress that was all I was focusing on.
That's understandable!
Movie Maniacs is a great toy line. Sadly the reboot does not look as promising.
Austin Powers please!!!
Ha ha! Maybe.
Jason x McFarlane was the best one
He's a good one!
