Precisely. I would've never drawn the connections, either 🙂

what movie is this ? 2:07
@Neki nope, its The Chamberlain from Hellboy 2
Guillermo Del Toro wants to make another monster movie.
Guillermo called Doug: "Hey Doug."
Doug: "What monster this time?"
Guillermo: one whit 4 horns, like 7 mouths and 12 eyes.
Doug: -sigh- the usual i see, well here we go again
😆
I think the two of them would make a perfect Frankenstein movie (book-accurate) with Doug as the Creature of course
Sean Bean and Doug Jones are my favorites actors🙂
@@mist5273 **chefs kiss** that would be lovely. Doug would probably look a little more like himself too.

Could've tried to look the actor up, at least. What kind of squad is that?
So lie lol

And both were directed by Guillermo Del Toro, so... Makes sense.
I thought the shape of water was the origin story for the character in hell boy at first

He was a really nice guy when we met him. My wife is a massive hellboy fan so we went to meet him in London. I came away being a fan myself as he was soo cool and down to earth. Nathan fillion kind of down to earth and approachable. Don’t ever change.
The guy who played nathan drake in the youtube video?
Thank you for not being a disgusting CGI monster. It is very appreciated.
CapAb Artz just remember that the best CGI is when you don't know it's CGI
True. But it’s far more admirable when a studio chooses to go the old fashioned way
CapAb Artz Ya I also like it if the studio does it old fashion but I have to admit it's way more costly
That’s part of the reason it’s so special
Jar jar binks😷
He would pose as David Bowie perfectly if the movie is ever created.
david bowie didnt die from his cancer... but he became so skinny from therapy that people couldnt reconize him... at one point he just gave up and started a new career...
Thank God they will never make an official David Bowie movie. Duncan Jones, who knows a thing or two about the movie industry, said David always refused to lend his music to such a project, and his family will always respect his wishes. Any movie touting itself as a Bowie biopic will be unofficial, unsanctioned, will not include any Bowie music, and will be little more than glorified fanfiction.
@@wellesradio That's unfortunate. His son can make a wonderful one.
Daniel Sadly, that may be the case. My guess though is that by then (two generations? That's anywhere from 50-125 years from now, depending on how long his kids live) the thirst for shitty biopics will have waned, and the only fans alive will think of Bowie as a historical figure rather than as a celebrity.
Nah, Tilda Swinton exists.

I worked with Doug on a small independent film a couple years ago and he was an absolute delight. He was so kind and funny and ready to talk about anything and everything. He loves to give hugs and wrap you in his long arms. I sat next to him at lunch and he just made my day. It was great to get to work with someone that I had grown up watching without even knowing it. Doug Jones is an amazing person and actor and I am so glad he is finally getting the recognition he deserves.
Jesse Solozano really? Sarcasm? You don’t know her life
It was called Nazareth. I'm listed under "miscellaneous crew" on IMDb as a production assistant. I actually saw Doug this weekend at Comic-Con and it was absolutely amazing. He signed my poster from the movie and took a picture with me.

I love that he calls it the old hollywoodland name. This guy has been some of my most favorite characters of all time. Particularly silver surfer. Most underappreciated comic character ever and he rocked it.
He was BRILLIANT as the silver surfer
Too bad the movie sucked
Give him an Oscar already!
He and Andy Serkis should win at least one.
@OldPossum Wow, what an incredibly ignorant and douchebag thing to say. He literally said himself in the video that it's not easy to do movies with heavy prosthetics and it's not, he's frequently cast by Hollywood to preform these roles time and time again specifically because he has such vast experience doing these roles and he's more comfortable doing then than most people. The fact that his work often gets redubbed is completely irrelevant, this happens very frequently within the industry and there are even very notable examples of professional actors not wearing prosthetics that have their voices redubbed in post. You seem to forget that the way an actor portrays their character physically in terms of body language/expression is just as important as the delivery of their lines. These are the elements that make for a convincing performance, if you get one element wrong you might as well have gotten the other one too. Doug performs convincing movement and expression in his characters which is why he is considered to be talented by Hollywood casters and is cast time and time again much like the mocap actor Andy Serkis. Why would he keep getting these roles if according to your clearly infallible logic any guy off the street can be brought to do it? By your own logic surely you would be able to do it? There are literally thousands of people involved in any one major film production, they work their asses off for a good year or two to bring you the movies watch day in and day out. The least you could do is acknowledge their work and show some respect.
That's a seriously impressive résumé!
One of the most underrated actors.
I think you mean: "The Least Famous Actor You've Seen the Most"
No. I dont think they mean that
Not knowing what he looks like doesn’t discredit the well known roles he’s played....what you just said would not have made any sense
@@Dizzydawne ye
@@Dizzydawne No, famous doesn't mean that his roles are well known, famous is the actor himself is well known. You don't see news articles about him doing normal stuff and he doesn't have many fans, he is not famous. He is seen in many movies, but he is not well known.

Wow... never thought of that till I watched this... he is all of my fav characters from movies in one...
I love Doug Jones. He replied to me on a reddit AMA. *pumping like a happy toddler*
He is a great actor. I love CGI, but I prefer we try to keep alive all the various ways to make a movie. Combine, various methods until they all flow together and you can’t really tell where one ends and another begins. Respect, appreciation and application of both modern and old-school methods.
Yea you hit the nail on the head there, an over reliance on computer generated effects can seem saturated and out of place, seems to age badly aswell whereas practical seems to work well for far longer the thing shows its age but some of its practical effects are brilliant as are ones in newer films. I love it when films blend both seamlessly and don't rely on either too much leaving some up to your imagination.
I totally agree. CGI can be extremely helpful, especially in circumstances where filming a specific scene would be too hard to accomplish or too expensive to do on a large enough scale, but I believe that the best results tend to be when practical methods are used to their full potential and afterwards the final look can get refined digitally.
Smart person
I hope we never lose that, hate qhen movies only rely on CGI, you don't feel so atached to it... The best is the balanced convination of both techniques
Ever since I watched the making of hellboy as a kid I've been so intrigued with Doug's work.
