I worked with Doug on a small independent film a couple years ago and he was an absolute delight. He was so kind and funny and ready to talk about anything and everything. He loves to give hugs and wrap you in his long arms. I sat next to him at lunch and he just made my day. It was great to get to work with someone that I had grown up watching without even knowing it. Doug Jones is an amazing person and actor and I am so glad he is finally getting the recognition he deserves.
It was called Nazareth. I'm listed under "miscellaneous crew" on IMDb as a production assistant. I actually saw Doug this weekend at Comic-Con and it was absolutely amazing. He signed my poster from the movie and took a picture with me.

Thank God they will never make an official David Bowie movie. Duncan Jones, who knows a thing or two about the movie industry, said David always refused to lend his music to such a project, and his family will always respect his wishes. Any movie touting itself as a Bowie biopic will be unofficial, unsanctioned, will not include any Bowie music, and will be little more than glorified fanfiction.
Daniel Sadly, that may be the case. My guess though is that by then (two generations? That's anywhere from 50-125 years from now, depending on how long his kids live) the thirst for shitty biopics will have waned, and the only fans alive will think of Bowie as a historical figure rather than as a celebrity.

Damn he kinda lucky. Imagine being in a bunch of movies and being successful and not having to constantly deal with fans to the point where it becomes super irratating.
@OldPossum Wow, what an incredibly ignorant and douchebag thing to say. He literally said himself in the video that it's not easy to do movies with heavy prosthetics and it's not, he's frequently cast by Hollywood to preform these roles time and time again specifically because he has such vast experience doing these roles and he's more comfortable doing then than most people. The fact that his work often gets redubbed is completely irrelevant, this happens very frequently within the industry and there are even very notable examples of professional actors not wearing prosthetics that have their voices redubbed in post. You seem to forget that the way an actor portrays their character physically in terms of body language/expression is just as important as the delivery of their lines. These are the elements that make for a convincing performance, if you get one element wrong you might as well have gotten the other one too. Doug performs convincing movement and expression in his characters which is why he is considered to be talented by Hollywood casters and is cast time and time again much like the mocap actor Andy Serkis. Why would he keep getting these roles if according to your clearly infallible logic any guy off the street can be brought to do it? By your own logic surely you would be able to do it? There are literally thousands of people involved in any one major film production, they work their asses off for a good year or two to bring you the movies watch day in and day out. The least you could do is acknowledge their work and show some respect.

I love it when films blend both seamlessly and don't rely on either too much leaving some up to your imagination.
