Excellent video. From pulling interior plastic, rubber, 10mm on power cable. 11mm on attachment bolt, squeeze wire removal, and "finger" pull connector removal ...only had to watch it once had the fuse box out in just a few minuts. Thanks for doing this video!
This is the most thorough video I've seen of this removal. I will say the very first thing you removed is next to impossible to do with 2 hands and a lot of questioning the universe. Those tabs are hellish. Other than that it's a pretty simple job. Bless you for starting with the trim removal too! Definitely subscribed.

great work and easy to follow. Same color as my expedition. I will be taking out my fuse box under these guidelines, thanks for lesson.... It took me about 15 mintues to take out, and about 15 to put back in. Putting it back was more easier and my truck started right up. Thanks again.

That’s a good question and there is a reason, you always want to have the battery grounded last so if there was a voltage spike or drain it can discharge any voltage. If the positive was only attached the voltage would have no where to go. So you always want to remove positive first and install connecting negative first then positive.
Have a 2003 expedition. It got wet inside. Windows down as well as the sunroof. Everything was wet. Got a buzzing noise from the dashboard for a few days. It stopped. But the locks and the auto headlamps stopped working as well as the rear seats and rear door and glass. Hopefully the new part will solve this problem. Oh yeah the battery died 2x already. The radio stays on to long are the engine is shut off
You will need to make sure the part number matches exactly with the replacement fuse box. They are not compatible with each other for the most part, some will get your vehicle running but you may not have function of additional extra accessories. Also make sure all fuses/relays are installed to match your original fuse box

I’m having a lot of trouble taking off the cover in the back, do you have any other advice? I tried prying it and I can’t tell if the pin git bent or not
The two tabs are different, one can be easily pried outwards with a small flathead and the other is best removed with a pick or hook tool. It’s not the easiest since it’s in a tough location and difficult to see.
I was charged two hours of labor for removing and reinstalling this same fuse box. Seems to me like I was overcharged. It only took you a little over six minutes to remove that one. Whats your opinion?
Sounds like they went by the book and charged ya the book time. There’s nothing wrong with that at all. That’s how they make money. It’s a race against the book.
do you have good mechanical knowledge? I have a big problem with my 06 Lincoln and I am 60 yo female who likes to DYI. I just can not find out book or internet information on why my air compressor will not come back on, yet I can jump it by the battery then it will work. I am so frustrated and even have removed the junction fuse box. Thank you if you can reply How did you know it was the fuse box and what did you do? replace or fix? I would have loved to see the panel board.
DYI-n-SAVE-FROM A-Z they have a low pressure cutoff so that could be a possibility also could be the compressor relay or fuse. Could also be internal corrosion in the fuse box
@@eclipseproct5496 I did test my fuse box motherboard and found 2 resistors and had no continuity. I think it is the main issue because of good Ford won't recall the darn problem with water getting in the sides. I also seen where the one wire harness that is at the top left side has problems as well. I seen a place on EBay that sells the box with the wire for under 300.00

I had a complete electrical failure yesterday driving my 2005 Ford Expedition. All the sudden I saw antilock break light come on, then my light started to dim, then other dash lights came one, then batter went dead, and all lights went out, but it kept running for a few miles until finally the fuel pump quit. It appeared that the fuel pump was the last to die. Had it towed and started looking at it this morning. It appears to be a short voltage is at 0.0 until I disconnect the fuse box main power wire then 12.3v. After pulling all the fuses I can't find the problem. I know that two plugs are causing the short. The white one and one of the pink ones.. I have no idea what is causing the short. I suppose it could be the fuel relay but this isn't the symptom that others have described.
Broderick Magnus They don't all fail in the same manner so yours may have a relay that is stuck in the closed or on position. The symptoms with lights coming on and dimming sounds a lot like a alternator problem. If your fuse box needs to be repaired I can go through it and replace any defective components. Racing Raivalls101 It's a relay that goes bad and the cause of it is because the original relay doesn't have the proper amperage rating to handle the load cycle it's required to. It was cheaper for them to manufacture in short. There's also other components on the board, resistors and a diode that were made from a poor quality material that cause power to fluctuate rapidly and cause surges which in turn creates extra heat in the components and cause them to prematurely fail. If you need it repaired and also comes with a lifetime warranty let me know.
I replaced my fuse box today and now the vehicle wont start. No interior lights or chimes turn on. Security light is blinking when the key is out of the car. I have an 04 expedition and after trying to instal led taillights, my expedition no longer has any power to its windows, door locks, radio, interior lights, back tailgate wont open, 4wd switch will not engage 4wd, no dash lights only airbag light, and i cant shift out of park by pressing on the break. Could this be a bad fuse box, i tested almost all the fuses and it shows they have power. I also tested the fusible link under the hood. Any ideas?
It seems like a strange result from trying to install led lights but there may have been a voltage spike that could have affected the internal circuit board of the fuse box. I offer a repair service for these fuse boxes if that's something you would like to be tested.
No reprogramming is necessary. Just make sure to match the numbers found at the bottom of the original fuse box with a replacement with the same numbers

Isn't their a place where the power cable from the battery connects? I saw one video and the guy pulled it right through the firewall. I guess it must attach somewhere on the box.
triggerhorse1 no need to pull the main wire through the firewall, just disconnect and remove the fuse box. The main connector is on the left side almost near the top, there’s a cover that’s quite a pain to remove before your able to disconnect the main power cable

If it had been a General Motors or a Chrysler they would have put it right next to the battery what a good spot for corrosion. Bad enough the relays internal instead of extra work laws they put more priority to a God damn fog light relay than a fuel pump relay.

I found the easiest way to do it is from the rear. I removed all the connectors and left the hot wire for last. Small flat head screwdriver to release both tabs and it popped right off.
Been having the exact same problem been working on that particular cover for almost 3 hours now it just will not come off the frustrating thing is that it's the last piece that I need to remove
Typically the year before or after will work but some added features that differ model to model may not function. We recommend replacing with the exact part number. We do offer repairs to your existing fuse box to guarantee compatibility.

Vic Poi yes they are quite tricky but they pry outwards from the end, one on top and one on bottom. If you can get a light in there it's easier to remove once you see how they're fastened.
Joseph Murdock I stand corrected. I have never personally tried it but was told others have tried and there was multiple problems with no power. I'm glad it worked in your case

No programming is required but be sure to match the part number found on the bottom of the fuse box to ensure everything works correctly.

They are both pry tabs and need to be pulled outwards, a hook tool is ideal.

Where is the screw located to remove the power cord from the fuse box? I cant see or feel it anywhere.
It’s towards the front of the vehicle under the plastic guard that’s a pain to remove, it’s a little over halfway up the box.

Yeah it’s not easy, use a hook pick tool to get the tabs pulled outwards.
