On drums here Kelly Halliburton (drummer for Pierced Arrows), who stepped in for Andrew Loomis for a few concerts. In 1987 Fred, Toody and Andrew started Dead Moon in Portland, OR. Andrew was diagnosed with cancer in 2015 and was unable to play the last 10 booked concerts due to illness. Not wanting to disappoint the fans, Fred asked Kelly to step in. Andrew's last Dead Moon show was on May 14th, 2015 at a festival in the Netherlands. Sadly he died on March 8, 2016. pitchfork.com/news/64026-dead-moons-andrew-loomis-has-died/

@@Violet-vp1vf Dead Moon headlined that show. The backline (drums and amps) was provided by the venue for all of the bands that night, but Dead Moon had a policy of using their own banged-up gear, so all of the amps and drums were set up in front of the house gear. Also, Dead Moon's stage set-up included the drums being set up right up front, mainly to emphasize that the whole band was part of the experience, not just the "front person". The concept of band-as-family and as a gang was very important to Fred, and he tried to incorporate that ethos into every aspect of the band. 1000% non-rockstar, DIY, rough-and-tumble attitude from beginning to end.
