The one thing i actually like about this is that its not analogue horror it doesnt feel creepy it feels scary it gives out this primal urge to run away when i look at the pictures like your supposed to l
I shouldnt have started this in the dark. Absolutely sent shivers down my spine. Loving birds, studying them, and having a few exotic birds myself, i immediately felt a panic when i heard the raspy 'help. Its ok' because they did SO good at making it sound like birds mimicking things. I never thought about raptors being able to 'speak' to lure in prey. Gosh, this whole thing is so well thought out and amazing.
i LOVE mimicry! it's one of my favourite horror tropes. The idea of something hearing you and trying to learn how to speak like you is more terrifying to me than most other things. It's the auditory uncanny valley
What's creepy about this story is raptors probably could mimic prey. Plenty of cats, and modern birds mimic there prey to ambush them. So raptor could've done this, but we'll never know.
We do have living raptors, they're called the maniraptoran dinosaurs. This includes modern birds. A few traits can be brought back to make them actual raptors.
@@gzilla783oh like when scientists discovered how to bring out the dinosaur traits in chickens but decided to just, not do that? I was so disappointed when I found out that we could have seen real “dinosaurs”(quotation marks because they wouldn’t be the same as historical dinosaurs) but they just didn’t
I just rewatched this for a fourth time, i just passed the part with the buck trying to find shelter and THE DAMN RAPTOR ONE LAUGHS AT IT WHEN THE AUDIO RECORDING OF TYE DEER WAILING IN PAIN IS PLAYING HOLY HECK
As a lot of comments have said, the “speaking” idea is genius, very good grasp of the fact that the birds don’t have any idea what the phrases mean, and so amalgamate them in random order, in the hopes they can get a reaction
They arent evil, just following their instincts to survive, with some minor adaptations like the large dromeosaurs mimicking human speech, Mikey the archaeopteryx (could be wrong about him being an archaeopteryx) rolling with a pack (dont know if thats true or not already since we know little about the archaeopteryx), and the Baryonyx (could be wrong) in the tunnels
the troodons (the ones that talk) are tho. like hell even the other dinosaurs don't like them. I don't care if they "need food" go hunt a deer or something, the humans fight back with real weapons.
Arch made such a fun twitter ARG. It sucks that he got harassed by that beaver guy but Arch still does art sculpting so it worked out well in the end. He's got crazy talent as a paleoartist.
@SpiderkillersInc I meant I thought this was about a true story. So I thought the first photo was an actual bird (from our time). (Hence why the terror came full force!)
13:11 Huh. Sounds like they're mimicking what they hear. Like a parrot. I definitely heard "Please help" "Somebody" "It's okay" and "Oh god". Probably mimicking previous victims.
The fact the raptors are capable of mimicry and intelligent enough to somewhat understand what to say to make you lower your guard is honestly more frightening then their size. It’s smart enough to study you, that’s honestly super creepy and I love it
Raptors have feathers to so these creatures can be types of raptors of smth i dunno. Edit:I just realized raptors have pellets, and in the beginning he found pellets with some turtle bones i am freaked outrn.
The idea of the winter killing the creatures is based on the fact that earth was hotter in the Mezozoic, winters werent that cold and actual snow was way harder to form in places that werent the poles, that dude is not only talented, but also got a lot of knowledge, thats what makes this story amazing.
anything with glowy eyes in the dark and blood in their mouth is scary, if you saw a wolf like that you would be scared, even a rabbit can be scary if it's represented like that. I think dinosours in mainstream are slowly becoming monsters and getting away from being animals
It’s creepy because the first thing I noticed was the second set of eyes in the back of that picture and then the little kids drawing reassured that there was definitely a second thing
My god, I hate the fact that the bird learned to talk and accidentally caputured the exact moment when the kid was dying, and the dad was trying to comfort him (I believe that’s what the things the bird was saying was trying to convey)
Weird Birds is one of my favourite internet horror stories. Twitter threads are such a unique way of telling a story, and it works so well. It reminds me of that one “where’d the sun go” one.
A humming bird got trapped in my garage when I was 5 . My 11 year old sister tried to capture it in a card board box. It flew straight toward her face with that sharp beak and she lifted the box to guard her face. The beak pierced through the box and stopped right in front of her forehead. I’ve been terrified of anything with feathers since then. That look in a Birds Eye gives me so much anxiety . So emotionless and empty .
Hummingbirds are aggressive birds. They fight each other with specialized beaks that have hooks or are serrated. They are territorial and fight a lot even for those plastic feeders people put up
This Twitter thread is proof that accurate feathered dinosaurs can be and absolutely are terrifying in the right context. It's so annoying when people say "oh but featheres aren't scary" when birds can be genuinely terrifying sometimes, from what they do to how they act to how some look. Feathered dinosaurs can absolutely be used in a horror project and Archesuchus proves it with their story!
especially because in context, the weird bird is repeating that because it just killed the neighbor and his son. the son likely was already attacked and the father was trying to console him while hyperventilating before they were both murked. awful (and fantastic) stuff told through unspoken words.

Mikey is such a cute dinosaur *(regardless of him being fake)* its so sweet reading him sharing his food with arch and even helping him escape the other dinosaur/demon creatures
If raptors had that ability and still lived in this current era They would be the apex predator of all of whatever country they came from They would probably surpass humans on the foodchain in my opinion
what i love about the part in which they learn how to "speak" more normal, is the fact that they had to learn it from an actual person. which means the words "don't worry, it's ok" or "please help, somebody" means that they learned that most likely from stalking and killing people. I find that pretty interesting and a nice detail to think about (also i haven't watched the full video yet and i'm posting this beforehand so if something like this is mentioned already then don't mind me yapping.)
I love how there were comments on the side saying stuff like "I thought I blocked you" and "Fake"... like brother- just go on with your day, we know it's fake, but it's still fun to watch this adventure anyways
It gets annoying when you block somebody for something and a bunch of people just keep reposting screenshots and recording of the thing youre trying to get away from it. Ive blocked a bunch of account on twitter to avoid seeing certain things on my feed but considering that twitter, just like instagram, will show you everything but what you want to see and bring shit back just because you saw it once
@@crownedroyal738 but still, i would just either ignore the posts and stop trying to block it, or just check out whatever it is everybody is so hyped for. it was that way with the digital circus for me.. i hated it, but then i finally just caved in to watching it, and i suppose i understand the hype (my entire home page is digital circus shit, it will not stop)
I work nightshift in a big medical building alone kinda hate myself for watching this right before I leave my nice little office to clean everything. Amazing video though great job.
I watched this a couple hours ago, and lets just say this is amazing! This is such a breath of fresh air cause of how the media depicts dinosaurs in horror movies with the "big ol roaring movie monster" type deal. The scene with the troodontid on the attic was honestly terrifying, and the clips of the tyrannosaurid calling out genuinely sent shivers down my spine. Overall everything was amazing! And RIP Mikey, you were a good little microraptor(?)
Dude I remember seeing this randomly popping up in my feed a few months back. I jumped down the rabbit hole and followed this up until Mikey disappeared and then they just kinda.. stopped showing up in my feed. Glad you posted the whole thing! Such a cool idea for a story!
The fact that the micro raptor was in the dog cage is just so calming compared to the hell hole is going on in this story Mikey was a good soup. RIP :(
This story is truly a masterpiece from the realistic story telling with not to much overuse of cursing to make it really seem as if a human is speaking (typing) it, and the realistic photos especially the part of close up Mike. It especially hit hard around the last 7-10 min of it because Mike died and it felt like a connection between the two and his dog leaving him after not seeing him for so long, and when he payed down with Mikey’s pack and finally accepting death.😢😢😢
Dromaeosaurids running amock in present day America that can mimic the sounds AND voices of their prey just like a few of their modern counterparts is a genius idea and FREAKING TERRIFYING. The one Raptor saying “Come here” had my eyes wide open and my back shivering. I think this is one of the best ways to make a dinosaur horror story work so well.
I love the implications; Kiwi-Birds have non-flight-feathers resembling fur; Horned-Owls appear to have crop-point-ears; birds in general have a high-heel-gait and densely-crouched-poses with cryptic coloration, some birds are adroit mimics: that said, when everything is blurry these bird-cryptids look like wolf or bear or dog-man, wouldn't be surprised if so many cryptids turned out to be various raptors.
the whispering bird definitely entranced me. I have never seen such a wonderful display of inhuman mimicry without knowing the nuances of conversation; it was just desperately trying to get its prey outside of its den.
Well at least the flock will have a semi warm and fresh meal, hopefully the flock will get to live on to the end of this confusing situation for them all
Honestly, this story needs to be put in a movie, ANY kind of movie, live action, animated, maaybe 3D, and at the end where he dies, he died as a survivor that lasted long, and the art of what he may have looked like was perfect. Awesome story. Loved it
this is a good story and i thought it was really good in till the lights/wormholes and some of this audios made me scared even tho i know its fake. Time to watch part two :)
It would be the most terrifying thing if dinosaurs just randomly came back, but I really do appreciate the person who made the dinosaur bendable statues, the really cute, especially Mikey
I have an idea about them coming back.. so later in the story the main character said he thought those glowing lights could be wormholes and I don’t think he was far off the reason why is because I think that the glowing lights were wormholes opening up in time and dinosaurs were going through them into modern day time. Now I don’t know how the military didn’t stop this in a few weeks Ik they can be smart but a big enough wall or gun could kill any given dinosaur. Although I presume that there prob evac zones kinda like the ones in the last of us but anyway from context it seems the town or city he is in or goes to is looted. And pretty early on he states he hears gun shots screaming and ect.. that probably meant the police or army were trying to kill whatever a could orrrr it could be those men in suits with a weird badge that had a globe on it.
This just strengthens the fact that scientifically accurate dinosaurs can be way more terrifying than the giant lumbering depictions we usually see of them.
I’m two minutes in, and I’m terrified. This feels like how someone would actually react if this was actually happening to them and not staged. I’m a huge Jurassic Park/World fan, and I used to dream of a world where I could go to a dinosaur theme park and see these majestic creatures for myself. After seeing some of these dinosaur analog horror films (and making a few of my own), I lay awake at night, dreading the possibility of these creatures staring at me from outside my window…
I love how they embraced the absolute absurdity that the story derailed into, although I do wish there were some more tense moments as seen in the beginning.
As someone from Ireland who lives in the Chicago area. This is INCREDIBLE. In Dublin we heard stories about the banshees and shit. This takes that to the NEXT DAMN LEVEL. When you are near were this is set, in your bathroom, watching on your iPhone.

I was literally thinking about mimic raptors as a concept recently! This is a great thing to send to the friend I was talking about it with!
What's creepy about this story is raptors probably could mimic prey. Plenty of cats, and modern birds mimic there prey to ambush them. So raptor could've done this, but we'll never know.
It's also more likely considering that crows and parrots can already mimic everything from ambience to human speech.

The government tried to open wormholes to see what dinosaurs looked like, the wormholes got out of control and now humanities paying the price
the whispering bird definitely entranced me. I have never seen such a wonderful display of inhuman mimicry without knowing the nuances of conversation; it was just desperately trying to get its prey outside of its den.
