When the Witness was first revealed, it definitely did look a little goofy, but every appearance since has found a way to make it look cooler.
It's the eyes for me. Like if it didn't had eyes at all it would be more threatening imo but this still looks cool

Joe Blackburn making fun of everyone expecting a poison subclass is just funny as hell to me
Would've made more sense to have a "corrosion" poison subclass than something outta left field like Strand.
Most of the gameplay was informed and created from just the Hunter's original kit. The Warlock kit and super while unique could have been anything other than Strand and still work. Titan's kit and super is mostly a copy paste of pre-existing animations.

@@wilsonkelman986here are so many poison geared weapons, armor, and combinations. The weapons of sorrow are literally weapons that combines guardians and darkness, it was right there waiting for them, The fact they actively ignored that, that’s the problem.

The fact when the tormentor grabs you and it goes to 3rd person enabling you can’t escape. That is wild since no other enemy is able to break our guard that way ever in game.

I’ll always remember when destiny first came out and we were on the moon, my friend told me he was enjoying the game, but he wanted to know what the “darkness” was and he wanted to fight that, I honestly didn’t think the darkness was anything more than a wipe mechanic for the game… this game has evolved so much before our eyes, I am excited that after all this time, I’ll be able to fight the darkness with that same friend ❤

The game devolved, then slightly evolved, and is currently only in a "comfortable" repetitive spot.
The only thing we've received out of all these years is a smidge more story...that mostly happens off screen.

I was 14 when destiny came out. I'm in my twenties now so finally having this giant space battle against a big evil is really heart warming. Feels like I'm living out my childhood dreams.

Same. The story has always lacked in game but witch Queen changed that and now this new expansion looks even better story wise. The legendary campaign was a huge addition to destiny now they take the level design of these missions seriously.

That opening shot of the Pyramids staring down the Traveler is something I have been waiting for since 2017, the fact that both sides have such history you know seeing them in the same frame is something significant.
Hell I'd argue it's what we've been waiting for since the very beginning; the Speaker told us the Darkness was returning and the second Collapse was on its way; nine years later, and it's finally here.

Can I just say that I love that the theme of neomuna is that it’s a paradise beach city besieged by a storm. Very fitting for light fall
The design of Neomuna really takes me back to Halo 3: ODST. I believe it was New Mombasa? The tall sky scrapers with high tech looking lights, it’s a really nice call back especially since it was in THAT game that they first hinted at Destiny using a similar art to the one we just witnessed during that last cutscene where the Traveler shifted beyond the stratosphere…
Definitely ODST, but New Alexandria as well, in Halo: Reach if I recall that city name correctly.
If we really get as many cutscenes as this makes it feel like, we're in for a gigantic storytelling treat
Hopefully it at the very least is equivalent to witch queen or since light fall had a longer dev cycle maybe we’ll get even more which will be FUCKIN SICK

Ummm Calus is as tall as his Robots on the Leviathan, besides the Witness is hinted at being able to shapeshift so its true form could be literally planet sized.

You can tell they had zero enthusiasm about the new Titan super. I had regained a modicum of hope when Bungie directly replied to our complaints, but this ViDoc might have dashed my hope yet again. They just say "yup, it's a titan super. Aaaaanyway the Warlock is super cool..." ugh.
I timed it. 19 seconds for the hunter/ 23 seconds for the warlock/ 14 seconds for the titans.

@@athena-love Yes because that content is poorly balanced PvP and reused/reskinned stuff that they've been doing for years, I've got 4k hours on Destiny and I can see its ups and downs, and the downs are Bungie themselves not knowing what they're doing.
Bungie mainly focuses on pushing agendas before making an enjoyable, balanced experience for the player.
I don't even play PvP anymore because it's the worst form of FPS PvP I've ever played. AND THIS IS THE SAME COMPANY THAT MADE HALO.

A stand off one side is the traveler with earth and humanity, house light, caitls coalition, awoken monarchy and sol as the other side is witness and calus, erimis, xivu, and their dark fleet or tehetrahedrions

I think the Titan super Bladefury should've been like a stomp then multiple strand blades come out from the ground as a line aoe or a cone aoe. It would've been really unique.

I definitely have the feeling the Tormentors are gonna be Extremely Scary & terrifying, and very hard to take down. I do hope their not just in da campaign and have some in a strike or two, just imagine doing a grandmaster nightfall and a tormentor grabs you & steals ur light instead of killing you immediately I would be terrified lol
They said that they used tormentors sparingly, if I had to guess they are probably either straight up bosses or they are going to be a you vs just them or you vs two of them encounter. Similar to the "oh fuck" moment of having to fight 3 Hive guardians in part of the savathun boss fight
Probably will beanother Hive Guardian like enemy. Bungo tried so hard to hype them up and they just fell flat.
@ariakas07 they are comparatively weak in terms of health, giving them extra health or making them much more aggressive when supered would make the much more intimidating. Or make just generally harder to kill their ghost. Either way tormentors are allegedly going to be much harder to kill than " just shoot it a lot"

Ive always thought spiders and webs/strings were an extremely cool concept so im absolutely thrilled about the new powers. They look amazing.
The music in the background gets me mega hyped. Bungie always nails their OSTs. Great ViDoc and I'm even more pumped.
Can't wait to use Strand!! At first I wasn't a fan of it and wanted the Poison subclass, but Strand now has grown on to me and I'm excited to it use against the Witness, the _Sauron_ of Destiny universe! 🕸

I downloaded the game back in November during the black Friday sale. These changes look immensely helpful for new lights. My main coming was simply not knowing what I should be doing. On my first day Hawthorne gave me the quest to complete Duality, how was I supposed to know that was far beyond my reach? This new system looks to fix that completely. Should also note that youtubers consistently make guides on how to level up yet never how to actually progress in the game.

As a Guardian that’s been plying since the beta of D1 I cannot stress just how excited I am to be seeing this Saga getting to such an increasingly epic peak and to know that the Destiny universe’s story is far from over….I just can’t wait to experience everything you guys have created.

Originally when they revealed the Cyberpunk like theme of the expansion I thought it was weird and didn’t match the original tone I thought an expansion named “Lightfall” would, but with all the new details we’ve gotten I’m more hyped than ever for this expansion. Getting a really big Infinity War vibe 👀
If this is our Infinity War, then the Final Shape might be like our version of End Game

The original name drop and logo look for Lightfall had me anticipate it was going to be a much more dark tone, and then the Lightfall reveal pulled a 180 and left me feeling a bit disappointed that wasn't the route they were going. Now, though, I'm completely behind what they're going for

I'm loving the use of more space battles in cutscenes. The recent mission with us pushing into the station while ketches exchanged fire with our fleet was great.
I've been saying it since the moon landing in Shadowkeep, we need more large-scale battles. Ships flying around and a whole war taking place around us while we play our own special part in it.

I'm really glad they're finally doing something with the EDZ again. Other than a few exotic quests, it's just kind of been "there" ever since the Red War. Hopefully they'll do something with Nessus and the Dreaming City next.
i am really sad. i started at season of the splicers and i really want to be able to play the red war. so to see that they do something with it other than when i fiest started and needed to do 3 lost sectors is really fun

@@Telesto_Timelost I strongly felt this, but then I went back to do content on Europa and honestly, I feel like they focused on making the area quick to move around in with limited loading times and while it's still a disappointing end result, a few months of play later I kind of appreciate that. They didn't have to make the little bit of map we got so unappealing, though, and some of the urban planning decisions feel immersion-breakingly terrible. Like who builds street level $20,000 windows that look out onto a wall less than two car widths away with an AC unit as the only feature?
It's obvious that this is only half the story, but it feels like there's loads of pages missing from what we did get. Also the cloudstriders and osiris became best mates after they'd exchanged barely a hello. Like, straight in there, we're all allies now? I mean, come on. So far season of defiance feels like the better story which is a massive shame.
Any season that involves the queen is a automatic 10/10 just like season of the lost

I love the environment so much. It's so unique, but it feels like a combination of the red war last city and the environment on titan.
Yeah, but there's only so much you can do keeping it in universe since its a human city/colony under attack by a cabal force.

The build management system is a perfect idea. In my group I’m making the builds and just sending it to everyone else, because nobody wants to spend the time to understand it because to them it’s too confusing, I’m excited to see how this works out

@@anms_brk I mean not exactly, there are so many mods that you can use, armor affinities (Ik it’s going away), and to me it just feels kinda clunky. In general the inventory needs a revamp, inventory management is literally the worst thing in this game. We have useless materials like finest matterweave which I have more than I know what to do with, new umbral energy every season (also going away I know). It’s not that it’s too hard but it’s that it just feels like it wastes time that could be spent actually playing the game.
The best thing from this ViDoc is that it appealed to a variety of groups of people. I personally love the war aspect with humanity on the line type of feeling. Very similarly to how ME3 felt thematically... and a beautiful space battle.
you're right.....The videos are amazing....The studio should make a serial file, like riot did with arcane....alas, the video is not a game and then start it and find out that you have a grind, which hasn't changed in years and is just as boring...

i started destiny since forsaken dlc and I've been in and out of destiny after that because i was either feeling like there was too much to handle and i didn't have that thrill but now with lightfall i can see that things are going to get better and the fight to come will bring in an exciting adventure.

I think they just confirmed the raid is on neomuna with that last clip. You see a group of 6 guardians standing infront of the city in what looks like the raid entrance animation. Not certain but could be confirmation especially since it’s the last thing we see

yea, ive decided to mostly let go of my anger and just play hunter. it was super funny when describing the exotics, and the other 2 got something that does its own unique thing, and ours only makes kephris horn a bit better. Same with all the footage of the class too, warlocks and hunters get all this complex stuff, where we get some poor sap trying desperately to make the fact that you can "punch things repeatedly in a combo and then do a heavy attack" sound even mildly interesting or different. I don't blame them in any way or hold it against them, I pity them for being put in a position where they have to defend the most comically unimaginative design I've seen in the game for years. Especially considering strand should've been the element with the most interesting and creative stuff. The funnier part is hearing them describe how its "the web of life" and then try to explain how titans remotely play into that.

@Wofulrumble yea. I'm excited for lightfall, and strand, just not titan strand. I'm sick of letting strand titan ruin my excitement for an entire amazing expansion. That being said, im fuming about this still, but I've given up. Yates is clearly an idiot based on his whole "your fist is on the cover of the game " so yea he's a moron, and titan probably wotn change. So I will, which sucks, 7 years of titan, but, eh
@Matthew Jacob Yeah, I'm excited for the story and new weapons. Yates clearly misremembers the cover art cause it's hunter that has a fist on the cover as titan has a rifle...
I'm interested to try strand titan, would rather get hands on gameplay for myself rather then only video stuff. Playing all 3 characters will let me get a good feel for strand as a whole
I'm so happy this came out in 4K. Being able to get some great new backgrounds prior to Lightfall is fantastic.
