You keep both eyes open? I have a problem not blinking whenever I dry fire or actually for a round. The movement of the striker on dry fire is enough to cause the eye blink. Naturally, when actually firing the recoil itself is enough to cause the blink. It doesn't appear that you blink and I don't understand how you do THAT.

I get into a bad habit of hooking, from the fact I spent too much time firing too many rifles in too many drills. Do some rapid fire offhand with a battle rifle, where the hook does help control the weapon in weak standing shooting. Next thing you know you get into that habit and half to iron it out of yourself again when doing slow fire prone. Got a wooden grip for my G3 clone, and after getting it had to adjust my grip for the size of it, but also the grip was made more for precision shooting by the shaping of it, more like for a PSG1. After getting the new grip, I came to realize just how much I was hooking the trigger on that battle rifle, makes you feel it every time. Minute changes and all that, it all makes a difference when you are trying to get those close groups off the bags onto paper.
Good series here, enjoy the content. Thanks for making this.

My 22 has a (720 grammes) two stage trigger. My 222 and 243 have a 2 pounds one stage triggers. I'm used to both. With a little preference for the direct ones... (I really don't care, no matter what i got, i just use it).

Finger pad versus finger groove, I find the finger groove much more precise as there is no spongy finger pad to compress, A crisp 2.5oz Jewell HVBR trigger that snaps like a glass rod versus two stage 2.5lb pull with more travel than a London bus. I never could use public transport again.

Great video! You didn’t talk much about hand position. When using a bipod, I place my thumb on the side rather than behind the grip. When firing offhand, I like my hand high on the grip similar to the position for holding a pistol. What are your thoughts?

what is sniper training like? Do they expect you to be accurate with the rifle first try or do you get to experience operating a sniper rifle before going into sniper school? I've only used air rifles but I want to join the arm.

Hi Cameron, this is the 7.62 subsonic for demonstration purposes. The AXMC is a multi-caliber rifle so it can be changed to suit the shooters needs! Thanks.

Nice video... Good info for newbies like myself. Just curios, what sort of ear protect do you use for that rifle and what calibre is it chambered in ? I recently broke my shoulder and therefore was looking at the 6.5 creedmoor round in a Tikka T3x Tac A1 as an option for the future ( I think the Accuracy International is out of my price bracket) with a little less recoil than a 308, but still useful for target and hunting which I would also like to do in the future. Would you recommend the custom in ear protection or over ear. Been looking at the Emtec Noisebreaker ...

Hi there! Frank is away at the moment so I can't confirm the type he uses. We have some on our site you might be interested in.
But in this video we were using subsonic ammunition so sound levels were'nt an issue.
      Cheers!
