Great review Ewan, I like their layout in BC & the food looks pretty good too. I was lucky enough to do a famil SYD - VIE - SYD with Lauda Air back in the eighties.
Hey Richard it was a wonderful flight. I never got to fly Lauda but I understand they were very good. How did you find them?
I can’t remember actually what happened to Lauda Air after the accident.
@@ewanwilson2315 Lauda ended up being brought by Austrian. Most of their current widebodies are former Lauda Air aircraft

@@lasse1227 Indeed and I believe Ryanair now has some link with Lauda short-haul.
The food in Business from Austrian is superb. Flew them last year (AMS-VIE-BKK return). Even the short haul food was good in my case.
Am booked LHR-VIE-BKK with them in 2 months and looking forward to it.

Glad you enjoyed VIE-BKK on that 777-200ER. I must point out that here in Europe our national airlines main aim is to provide feeder traffic for their long-haul networks (as it was in your case transitting to BKK). That's how they can sustain short-haul operations in Europe (these make little if any profit) because yields have been driven down by the budget carriers which do not interline.

Are they letting water containers through security these days?
The container can come through, but they have to be empty. hope this helps safe travels
