Some of the best clips from the smart, sassy, downright scary Queen of the Goths, Wednesday Addams! Clips are from the 1965-1965 TV series "The Addams Family" where Wednesday is played by Lisa Loring as well as the 1991 film "The Addams Family" and the 1993 film "Addams Family Values" where Wednesday is played by Christina Ricci.
There were quite a few great scenes that had to be cut for copyright reasons. Sorry if your favorite Wednesday quip didn't make it into the final version.
Check out my other Halloween videos on my channel.
I do not own rights to any of the music or videos. This is a fan tribute.

She became Amanda "Sarah Miller" Buckman in the sequel & was also Harmony on Buffy.
@Red Boah Sutherland It is theoretically possible, given how _The Addams Family Values_ was a legitimate sequel to the 1991 film, with the 2nd animated series (which saw John Astin reprise patriarch Gomez in cartoon form & had Debbi Drewberry as Wednesday, whose voice-over portrayal was an animated amalgamation of both the sweeter Lisa Loring [1964 live-action sitcom]/Cindy Henderson [1972 _New Scooby-Doo Movies_ episodic crossover subtitled "Wednesday's Missing" & the 1st animated series in 1973] & sardonic Christina Ricci [the two early 90's live-action films] previous adaptations in terms of how her animated counterpart was characterized [the 2019 CGI film with Cloe as Wednesday tried to replicate this, just as it also did a dead-on shot-for-shot recreation of the classic sitcom's intro with composer Vic Mizzy's iconic vocals intact using the CGI version of the Family as a bonus scene before the final credits rolled]) spanning just 2 seasons airing in late 1992 to early 1993 situated between the two live-action films in 1991 & 1993, respectively.

Tv show Wednesday: Acts like an adorable six year old
Movie: Edgy
I think the character of Wednesday represents a lot of us, her character starts off as an innocent and a optimistic child, but as the years go on, her character becomes more mature, with absolutely no optimistic, emotionless and completely dour.
Most of us start our lives as happy children, but we then grow up and so become more hate-filled and negative to a world ran by idiots.
I believe that's one of the reasons why Wednesday is a favourite to many. 😑

Hghh
The Addams Family was a major influence on the whole Goth trip. Charles Addams based Wednesday on his evidently a bit creepy step-daughter. I see Lydia as basically Wednesday as a teenager after being adopted by a normal family following Gomez being put in an insane asylum over some cheez whiz incident and Morticia abandoning her children to become a jewel thief in Gotham City.

How can you compare? The T.V. version was much more sweet but the movie more faithful to the original comic strip. Both were wonderfully played by the respective girls & they did what was asked of them.
@The Early Kit Inn Ok. Are you playing by asking about the comic strip? If not, look up Charles Addams and you will find the comic strip that started everything else.
@The Early Kit Inn I hope you have fun reading them. It will give you an insight as to why they made the characters in the film so much darker. While Raul Julia was not the right type physically he was just so Wonderful in every other way you really didn't care. Carolyn Jones was an amazing Morticia and quite sultry for the time but Angelica Houston was so perfect. Also both Julia & Houston were taller. Astin & Jones were perfect for each other size-wise.
@The Early Kit Inn When I was young. Many, many, MANY moons ago. I didn't like it as much. The reboot where Astin showed up as the Grandfather was kind of fun. A mix of the homage to the old series while trying out some new stories.
@The Early Kit Inn I don't know. Personally, I've found things that didn't appeal to me in my youth ( but close enough to adulthood when tried ) rarely appeals to me later. My opinions were reasonably fixed by 18 or so. I grew up more, certainly, but likes & dislikes were pretty much set. I couldn't say for you although knowing about the comic strip now, the way it's drawn will likely make more sense to you.
I always got a kick out of the family on the Flintstones that moved in next door. Gruesome & Creepela? 👻They were a mock of the Addams Family without using the name and going just far enough afield to not get sued. 😁
@The Early Kit Inn Have fun doing so! It's been lovely meeting you. 😄

Wednesday isn't supposed to be nice
@@candacecasey5634 Actually, yes they (meaning the entire Family, not just Wednesday) are. Sure, they are creepy & macabre. Yes, they are meant to be a horror trope subversion satirizing the practically perfect nuclear family with a pristine front lawn surrounded by a beautifully painted white picket fence (as in, The Cleavers of "Leave It To Beaver" since the executives from that show helmed the 1964 sitcom, which was part of why the Family couldn't be as dark as their later incarnations would become [primarily due to pre-existing network station censorship backed by politically-driven social-economic standards & practices for televised entertainment spearheaded by special interest groups lead by "concerned" parents that are readily endorsed by the FTC & the FCC]), but dark humor aside, the Family is not actively supposed to be inherently EVIL, as in irredeemably bad.
The ironic nature of this was the fact that creator Charles Addams himself actually called his misfit brood "Addams's EVILS" by name (I am making a point-blank reference to "The Addams Family: An EVILution" book I have which compiles the vast majority of the source material single-panel strip drawings featuring the Family [which were originally printed for The New Yorker magazine for satirical adults], if not all of them all together), but when newspapers began to call them "Addams's Family of Ghouls" in response to the 1964 sitcom's primetime arrival, _The Addams Family_ as we collectively know them was born.

SpeedDemon1152 Exactly! I enjoy both
TV Wednesday may not be as entertainingly creepy as the movie version, but in the context of the '50s, with its Leave it to Beavers and perfect families, it's cool to have this little kid that's just delighted with the creepy and dark. For time and context, she was perfect!
SpeedDemon1152
What do you mean by "kinda misguided"?
Per creator Chas Addams' own character bio of her: "Child of woe, is wan & delicate, with her mother's dark hair & pale complexion. Sensitive & on the quiet side, she loves the picnics & outings to the underground caverns planned by Morticia & Gomez. She is a solemn child, prim in dress, and on the whole, pretty lost. Gomez is wild about her. Secretive & imaginative, poetic, seems underprivileged & given to occasional tantrums. Has 6 toes on one foot. "
In the original show she seems to be a child maybe 5 or 6 .in the movies however she is about 11 or 12
