Chaz! Thanks so much for checking it out, Friend! Doing well here, hope you and yours are doing the same!
great video even though I don't have these compressor plugins , thanks.
Hey, Malik! Check out the video (The Mixing Template YOU asked for!)I have with replacing the with non-UAD plugins. This template has also been updated if you are interested in downloading it. Thanks so much for watching!!
@@emily_bowie sounds great 😍 thanks for replying and for everything 🙏.
If you want more or less of the parallels do you ever adjust the levels/balance of the three drum busses into your mixbus? Or do you treat as a pure 'set & forget' setup?
I treat them as an already calibrated setup. However, if I want/need something different, I will use the “Taste” parallel for that. I can send the overall drum group to and parallel accordingly.
Love it! From NY?
Thanks so much, Todd! I'm actually from TN! I just really love the history of the Yankees.
Thanks for the tutorial - the link to the text version is broken 😥
you seem like you are in a small mix room which gives me hope! current new mix room is 8 x 8 x 11
I think there is a misconception about needing a large room. Especially for mixing. Now, if you want to have a commercial tracking room for drums and a live band playing together and other recordings, maybe a bigger room. But, I believe
Post recording engineering is just fine in a smaller room. We mix in front of our monitors, not in the back of the room. Just make sure your room is treated and you are good to go!!
@@emily_bowie thanks! I just read
online that the waves do need to travel but I'm hoping for the best just for engineering my own music cheers!
Thanks for the inclusion of a blog post. Sometimes, I just like to read the instructions...I know, I'm weird. Nice Ad for yourself as well!
Thanks so much, Matthew! Yep, I am the same way. I like to follow an outline. I remember when first using this technique, I wrote it all out so that I could easily reference the steps. I hope this one is clear and understandable, haha.
@@emily_bowie It seems good and clear to me. I'll have to play with that bussing strategy. I typically have one parallel (the drum crush with the just the shells) and another bus for the drums. However, by your video and the @Pro Mix Academy class with Mr. Shippen show the technique of letting some or all of the drums flow to the 2-bus and the two parallel channels. Yay! More things to try and see what works for me.
@@matthewsweet5232 Nice!!
