Why didn't you comment as you were going, describing what you were doing & why? I work on my vehicles by learning from videos like this, so it's very helpful in my amateur education to hear/watch the what/where/why during step by step processes. Not getting on you, just wanting to understand, because then I can learn. Thank you for taking the time to make the video; maybe when I'm more advanced in my electrical education, I will understand what you were testing and looking for! But today, I'm not that smart. I'm trying to figure out if the issues with my Mazda (Ford Ranger), are the same as my Ford Explorer. I think it's probably the IACV in both vehicles & want to be sure!
I know this is an old video but hopefully someone will respond. I did the test just like shown and everything is correct until I test the resistance between the positive and communication lines. I am only getting .44 instead of 1.2. this is a brand new iacv so I do t think that's the problem. Would this mean that I need a new ecm?
HELLO I HAVE A 1998 KIA SPORTAGE AT COLD START UP THE CAR REVS TOO HIGH AT 4,000 RPMS..SOMEONE ON HERE SAID IF U DISCONNECT THE IAC VALVE HARNESS, AND IF THE RPMS CHANGE, THAT IT MEANS THE IAC VALVE IS OK?? DO U KNOW IF THAT IS TRUE> AS WHEN I DISCONNECT THE HARNESS THE RPMS DROP TO NORMAL 850 RPMS VERSES 4,000 RPMS when harness connected..please advise..thanks
Hello! If disconnecting the IAC valve harness causes the RPMs to drop to a normal level, it suggests that the IAC valve might be functioning but could be receiving incorrect signals or stuck open. This high RPM issue could be due to a faulty IAC valve. It might be a good idea to clean or replace the IAC valve.
This is a beautifully done video. Very clear diagrams, etc. And no jabber while we're looking at your face.

@@davebryant8050 Ah, that's a definite possibility!
Hi there. I watch your clip. I bought brand new controller and I couldn't find any resistance on any combination of pins. Any idea why?? Thanks.

What happened if I don't get continuity in neither pin? Can it be a poor general ground connection?
Make sure to test resistance with no power so disconnect the battery
Buenas, una pregunta una valvula generica iac de toyota corolla, hace el mismo funcionamiento que la original
