It's a mobile base. Good for long bunker raids where you need a hospital to come back to after getting popped, also you can use it to pack a Ursa and sneak closer to your objective.
Great review. I like what you had to say about the ship. I bought one in game. I haven't used it extensively for the reasons you cite but I do like it. I like it a lot. I don't think anyone would argue that it's got potential. A few things would make it even better. A crew roster for a ship like this would solve, or partially solve, the bed logging concerns of non-owned ships. same with medical beds we can revive at. Next, the ability to call ships and ground vehicles we own AND that can fit either in the hangar or on the hangar doors/pad. That would be pretty huge and be a big big step toward self sufficiency or really toward autonomy that i believe you're looking forward to as well. whether that's solely to build outposts or settlements or go full bore into terraforming worlds but stop keeping people centralized at stations or a planet based city. That was a lot but, yeah. Potential. As for defense, I think the top and bottom turrets can both face forward. The wing turrets as well, partially anyway. But i agree that the most vulnerable section is also the least well defended. I also think they need to do away with the lexan or acrylic canopies and go with the projected look. Not only is it cool looking for the bridge crew it's also pragmatic. Anyway, that's probably way more feedback and commentary than you wanted so i'll stop here. Ciao.
Is $380 a good price point for everyone? Right now during IAE, you can buy or upgrade to a Galaxy and get a Carrack Expedition as a loaner. I could resist as I didn't want my MSR anymore and as some credits to use up after melting another ship. This will be fun for the upcoming Pyro expansion. Also, the cargo pods now open and bridge has blast shield.
Up to you to decide, my only predictions that may or may not help. I don't think we'll see the Galaxy next year so it would probably be a fairly long term loaner ship. I do agree with the bigger gas tank being needed in Pyro from the limited testing that I've done there. If you like the Carrack you may want to keep your eyes peeled for a Warbond CCU later this IAE for a Carrack. Then you can possibly hold onto a WB from the Ironclad Assault to the Carrack. Or maybe for now just enjoy it as a loaner ship.
Also they appear to have reworked the lockers, in the Carrack's rooms/habs in 4.0 for the Carrack but I wasn't able to actually put anything in there for the current 4.0 patch
My favourite ship and the only one I feel I could call a home, even as it stands right now. It’s also built like a tank! Has all the problems associated with big ships but I can live with them. I’m expecting somewhere down the line it can only get much better!
@@spookytooth2024 yeah, I definitely like it as well and it’s probably a large reason that I decided to play the game. Looking forward to it getting updated
The mid section slot that comes up in the lower bridge is for data, it's hacker related it's for vital data what keeps the servers running from my understanding it's a data module you can take out!
Carrack is my most favorite ship. Love her since the first time I walked her decks ingame years ago. But I doubt I can ever afford her. 35m is hella steep for what else that buys you and hard currency is practically utopian.
I look forward to the day that the cambio can be used to sell salvage. But, even with salvage going from a cambio up to a vulture seems doable then going to something like a reclaimer or just using the vulture to get other ships should be doable. Perhaps even grinding out Bounty Hunting to make the money for bigger ships.
it takes 4 years for some game devs to create AAA games. 4 years in SC, elevator still not working. But what is great about this game u can watch some 4-6 year old reviews and they still viable today😂
There's a disclaimer that you have to agree with before you buy anything......... No use in grabbing your knee and screaming "ouch" after YOU jammed the stick through the bike wheel, lol... Never understood that with people. You've got a choice. It's not a demand by force.

Thanks for sharing, definitely looking forward to another pass on this ship for refinement

I’m kind of surprised hacking isn’t in yet since they use it for events and in other areas
Carrack life 4 life. I still have my carrack but prefer my 600i but do miss the small hanger but rather have the pilot weapons in the 600i.
Yeah, I’d love to have atleast 2 guns up front for the Carrack

I love my carrack, but there aren't real gameplay for that ship if you are alone. Usually i use it for cruise and ecploration.
Definitely, about the same for me, it’s nice to take out on the town but not much that it can accomplish, atleast alone

not wrong :(, thanks for watching!
Crew of 6 people yea that means solo.
Lots of money for something that doesn’t actually work yet..
It definitely needs some love to make it ready
