Well it's been a while but we're back with a banger!
Hope you enjoy, drop a like if you see this ❤
Nice to see you back on the audi and not adulting for a bit. Im working on a 2008 a4 2.0 tdi cabriolet. Its been interesting watching you work on the a4. There's so much I want to do to mine.
Fair play for giving it a go mate, as a profesional I do enjoy watching non mechanics work.
Great job boys👌🏼
Thanks 😁👌
Great video dude
Thanks glad you enjoyed 👌
Good video mate. I’ve got a BRD170 b7 avant too 👌🏼👌🏼
LOL the grandad car comment cracked me up. Feels like its been a whilst since you've posted.
🤣
It feels good to be back
where have you been , far too long but glad you are back on the audi...nice one
Here and there... always around though
He's back 🤪 people threatening up....please explain more🤔
😢what the thing about been threatened !????? Glad your back mate 🎉🎉
People saying they're calling the dvla because of illegal mods 🫣
People got nothing good to do anymore why they can't mind their own business there's far worse things happening but people won't raise their voices there but rather piss others who just making a living.
My son just done mine last week front end off but not completely best of luck easy timing tools needed
If you ever do another, get the non tensioned side of the belt as tight as you can before setting the tension, that’s what I do and when I turn the crank 4 times they always re time with the pins. I’ve only had to undo the 13mm bolts once on a 2.0tdi after the belt snapped and I replaced the head.
Reminds me of the fun days in the driveway before I opened a garage 😅
Don’t take that negatively either, just passing on what works for me - good job doing this as a non mechanic
I thought on B7 there is a "Service position" for everything on the front end to slide forward enough to enable the job without actually taking the front end stuff off?
There is also a bleed for the coolant at the top 2 hoses near the brake servo, they go to the heater matrix behind the dash. You can undo one of them which has a small hole in the hose near the clip...pull the hose out enough so air escapes out of that hole, start the car, and when there's a steady flow of coolant with no air, push the hose back in....system bled. Then top off the coolant tank.
Well done lad did mine earlier on in year after fixing oil pressure fault 😢 next video replacing the oil pump hex shaft 😂
Ohhh damn unlucky! Mines been done on the past 🤞🤞
Ayeee, ya back, been a while, dude!!! How did your holidays go? ;D
Also, I think Bi-xenons would look fire on it, so maybe new headlights in the future?
Definitely want them, and a good excuse also as my headlight tabs are broken 🤣
Cambelt threats are the most serious 😄🤦🏻♂️
Great video. I have the exact same A4 with the BRD engine. Who did you get in to ‘assist’ you at the end? Im looking for someone local to Surrey to do mine.👍
Unfortunately he wasn't local, he travelled almost 2 hours to give me a hand 😮
Now you need to adjust torsion value. For better starting and better fuel economy and power. Use vcds to see.
Yea great tips 👍
@@BWTV Any time man! And watch your cylinder head, they like to crack and since you mapped your car it is a matter of when. I have a3 BKD almost the same engine and i had many problems if you need any advice or help about anything just ask me. I am a Dr. for these engines. Good luck!
rough start , ignition timing?
If you have to work in that area again just drop the gearbox mount, gives you enough room 👍
Hey Brad how u doing? I’m the guy who used to own the blue mk4 gttdi golf.
I’ve moved to Guildford so somewhere close to you..
would be great to meet you in person and il buy you a Pint 🍺
Hey, nice Video. I like your content!
How is your impression of the engine so far? I´m thinking about buying one, but I´m not shure about the 170HP Version. Some say it is to unreliable.
How many Miles have you done so far. Any issues not shown on camera?
Thank you very much! :)
Hi thanks for your kind comment! I've had the car for almost 3 years and driven over 25k miles.
No serious issues to report, the only big one was the blocked DPF (but get that cleaned 😉 and you'll have no issues)
Wheel bearings were the last thing I changed. I filmed that but haven't uploaded it yet. I think out of all of my cars this one has been the most reliable and I have a hard time thinking about what to replace it with.
Big one to look out for is the oil pump balance shaft. If you get one of these engines, make sure that's been updated or upgrade it when you do get it!
@@BWTV Oh, thanks for the quick reply!
Yeah i've read about the oil pump issue. I'll make shure to watch out for that.
Its a great advantage to have someone who is documenting his story with the car. Very helpful for the rest of us, thanks :)
God bless!
Do you get any black smoke from heavy acceleration from the 2.0tdi brd?
Yea only a small amount on full throttle
I managed to replace the belt without removing anything, got a ton of cuts on my hands and arms but i got it done
Battle scars 🫡
@@BWTV 🫡
It was really dangerus to start the car like this. When you pyt a new belt you need to make few turns with hands because the belt can snap or come lose and then you luse your enrire engine. Btw i have the same car with the same engine ❤
Off camera this was done i just didn't film it, and wicked hope yours is treating you well
Tamden Pump change video you did mate, I left a comment and wondered if you would mind answering below. Thank you
Hi Buddy, hope you get this comment / question. I've recently found your channel as I also have a 2.0TDI 170, B7. Great videos and very good information.
Question, Mine suffers with a bad fume smell, on tick over and running, you can smell when windows are down ( not closed ) I researched online and your video came up about the Tamdem pump. Did yours have this fume smell and did it cure it after you changed the Tamden pump?
Also my clutch, into 1st and 2nd is ok but not great, you comment saying yours improved after changing this.
I'm going to get mine changed so Thanks for the great video, just thouth I'd ask about the fume smell and if it cured it or did you have that issue as well?
Thank you.
Mick
Hey mate I think so I can't remember too well, definitely showed small improvements but I don't really remember the smell from before
I have same with mine. Heavy fume smell and 1st to 2nd is a little clunky on shift.
@@bunalotpsn hello mate, I'm actually having my Tamden pump being changed today. I'll message you later to give you an update and what if anything it improved.
@@michaelhurst5306I would appreciate that bro. Let me know 👊😎
@@bunalotpsn Hello Bud, Ok collected my car this evening, Only drove about 5 miles home but the clutch feels lighter, going in to 1st and 2nd is ok, not as smooth as I hoped but maybe it's my gear linkage as once its lined up they are all smooth. A slight improvement I would say and feels like it pulls better so maybe my clutch was slipping a little before.
Fume smell, I noticed a bit when I started but then no smell at all even when sitting in traffic, I had the fuel filter changed as well just incase the old had oil in it. I'll see if the fume smell comes back over the next few weeks as some days it's better than others.
Overall I'm happy I had done but time will tell I guess.
Hope this helps.
How long did it take you pal
It took a good day to do it, lots of back and forth watching the guide video
Wait, a Saab?!
It is a saab!
@@BWTV man had a beemer and was 3 stone lighter 🤣
@@scotttheboy I'm a dad and a lorry driver now so I think the car and the weight gain is fitting for my lifestyle ;)
