Welcome to my Channel,
My name is James and I live full time in my tiny van, however this is not just a van life channel. I enjoy travel, food and drink and making videos 🙂
When I turned 50 I decided I’d had enough of the rat race and working long hours just to pay rent and bills, life was passing me by and I needed a drastic change.

Where is Helen?
Helen has a responsible full time job and two children so unfortunately she can’t join me on every trip. I really wish she could.
What equipment do you use?
My vlogging camera is a GoPro Hero 9 but I also use my pixel 6a phone and Lumix G80 camera for other footage
For editing, I used Premiere Pro on an old laptop but I’m saving to buy a more powerful computer.
Do you have children?
Yes I have a 6yr old daughter who lives with her mum but I see her quite a lot. I don’t usually put her on the vlogs and if I do, I block out her face for privacy reasons. I also have a grown up son.
How do you fund your lifestyle?
I don’t need as much to live these days since going full time van life but I receive a small percentage of income from the ads that UA-cam put on the videos.
Why the sponsored videos?
I only accept sponsorship from companies I use and trust, this is my fulltime job and my income, it’s how I support my family. (I have Patreon if you prefer videos with no ads).

France is awesome for van life, to save tolls Portsmouth to Caen and bit further south Royan or Dordogne are beautiful , they know how to do vanlife in France
You won't be disappointed with the Norfolk Broads. There are some great places to explore on a boat, the wide open broads or small water ways, personally I like sailing boats but motorboats are an easier option if you aren't a sailor. Also nice pubs en route where you can stop/anchor for lunch or tea or both and a pint. As a Yorkshire man I would also like to see you both do the Yorkshire Dales (past Skipton), my sister lives up that way and it's beautiful.
So agree to many I’m Finnish with utube we were attacked so strange I’ve never had the knock or told to move on .😀

Love hearing your accent, makes me feel like I’m back in Keighley surrounded by proper Yorkshire folk rather than in Redcar which is classed as North Yorkshire but I haven’t heard a Yorkshire accent in 4 years!

I said I would never ever get married again didn’t want the ties on my life But I broke my own rules Married 25 years now had a lovely life travelling but of course some baggage got over that nothing is perfect
Great video. Doesn't make a difference which team you support. You are not a football channel and you don't base your channel on football so you are fine. That shouldn't change your subscriber count at all. All the best 👍🏾

James...I know you said that you are going to "do the South East"...and by that I take it you mean Kent?
As...you've already done a bit of Essex?
I've lived in both counties, as well as South East London, but there are SO MANY beautiful places in both counties that very few people know about or visit much
In ESSEX, I would recommend...
Burnham on Crouch, Maldon, Heybridge Basin, Mersea Island (which can only be reached at low tide across a causeway...but is really WORTH IT!), Brightlingsea, Walton on The Naze, and Harwich.
ALL...very historic and beautiful, and all by rivers or sea.
In KENT...I would recommend...
Gravesend, Rochester, Upnor, Faversham, Whitstable, Broadstairs, Ramsgate, Sandwich, Deal, Folkestone, Hythe.
Again...all by rivers or the sea.
Avoid the "honeypots", like Margate...they are just disappointing and grim tbh.

PS....and DEFINITELY try Felixstowe in Suffolk...in the summer!

Really think because you wont lie, lots of your fans can see this in all your vlogs.Helen's Helen she will talk to anyone,you being more reserverd and maybe a little shy will talk and interact.. but find it harder.
Anyway can I just say just what an amazing job you two are doing showing the good and bad in all the places you visit be it Brid ,Liverpool Newcastle,Halifax Buxton the list is massive but what it shows is how friendly you both are with not only fans but people in general.

A surprisingly entertaining video considering it basically featured a grumpy bald bloke sitting in the back of his van answering questions off his phone !! 😂 As a big football fan (mainly of the "Non League" game) the question about which team you support really caught my attention and totally get why you wouldn't want to alienate Yorkshire subscribers by nailing your colours to one team, plus why you have fallen out with the top levels of the game because of all the filthy money involved. As you obviously once liked ' The Beautiful Game', you should really try and visit one of the numerous semi-professional clubs in your area which are a breath of fresh air from all the nonsense in the PL / EFL. You could incorporate them into a vlog on a Saturday when Helen's not around (unless she likes footy - my partner doesn't!!) as you can walk freely around the grounds, meet fans and volunteers from both clubs involved and all at a fraction of the price of "Big Football". I am a bit like you in that I travel around visiting diffferent football grounds, exploring the area, taking photos ...and reviewing the cheeseburgers !! lol There are some very good clubs in your area, probably most notably Sheffield FC who play at Dronsfield and are officially recognized as the Oldest Football Club In The World (Hallam nearby are the second !) Others I've been to in your general area, all playing between Tiers 6 and 8 of the football pyramid are Farsley Celtic, Guiseley, Bradford Park Avenue, Liversedge, Ossett United, Pontefract Collieries, Stocksbridge Park Steels, Liversedge, Brighouse Town and slightly further afield Bridlington Town - you could pop in Boyes for a steak pie pre-match !!! All I am sure would give you a warm welcome and be delighted to have a light shone on their clubs - this Saturday is also the designated "Non League Day" with clubs welcoming fans of professional clubs in the International Break with special deals and events on match day. I lived with my present wife for 20 years before we got married on a beach in Hawaii. If you are not particularly religious, what’s the point? Nothing changes if you get a piece of paper legalizing your marriage either civil or religious.
Have fun with Helen and ignore the traditional requirement of having to get married due to pressure from others.

Everything including engine service. I have a great garage who really look after me.

Can I plug any wattage of solar panels to apower bank.I really want to but a power bank & solar panel to use for a kettle,toaster,and mobil phone but I have no clue what I need to buy .can you help
Yes, if you look on the bluetti website there are a range panels that simply plug into the power banks
Recomended van life fest would be slumber on the humber around £90 for 3 days

Hey James, how much does your unit cost a month, hope you dont mind me asking? This is the life i am considering in the future. I used to rent a bedsit and have an art studio and life was much cheaper back then before i bought a flat. I'd like to go back to what i had before though without the bedsit. Keep all my shite in the unit/studio/whatever.
Hi mate, it's just gone up substantially to £400+ but it's quite a large size as I'm storing all my parents furniture there. You can get much cheaper. Look at storefirst

My partner and i are coming up to our 21st year together without being wed. Some people treat me with pity that my partner has never proposed tobme but we've never really seen the need - all that pressure to lay on an expensive ceremony and almost perform. I always said that if we got married, I'd have it on a beach somewhere with just the two of us - my partner just isnt comfortable with wedding ceremonies plus when you get into your 40's and 50's and your grandparents have all gone and youve lost parents, the thought of a ceremony with such precious people missing isnt as appealing - it isnt for me having lost my dad 7 years ago.
If you're happy, theres no eed to fix what isnt broken 😊

Oh yes, do Norfolk Broads, it is amazing. Docking at Great Yarmouth and walking into town is great. Been a while since we went but we thoroughly enjoyed it. Peace, slept like a baby (on the water).
