    Good stuff mate! Great to see another Aussie console modder!

      Thanks for watching, mate. The eventual plan is to enable most consoles in my collection to output RBG.

    You should take that scart cable apart and verify everything is wired up correctly. Based on the pinouts for the snes multiout and rgb scart standard. I bought three of those cheapy cables and all required modification.

    It is a bit confusing... for the output of the RGB PCB you talk about 6 wires but isn't it four wires you are soldering in your video and from the instruction picture it can but not must be 6 wires, right?

    Whats the dicfference between that HUUUGE RGB Chip and the tiny ones you can get on Ebay, Ali Express and so on?
    Does it have some Special features?
    Is this an older design?

    • @spadfinn
      @spadfinn 6 місяців тому +1

      The smaller ones (if we are talking about the same ones) were made for the earliest models of the N64 EXCLUSIVELY, due to something with the graphics/video chip. If your n64 has a serial number that starts with anything besides NS1 (such as ns2, ns3, etc.) those smaller easier chips won't work. RetroRGBs website has a lot of information about video from many consoles

      @@spadfinn That’s the first time I’ve heard about that. I’m gonna check later.
      If it doesn’t work with my N64, I’ll install it for free on the console of my best friend. I know for a fact that he has an old one because he got it back when it released whilst I bought mine like 5 years ago.

    Just subbed the other day, like your channel hope you get loads of subs mate. When your doing the mods reminds me of what setup most of us would have, there's so many channels that look like they have pro workstations and mega expensive kit and it makes you think you need all that kind of thing to get stuck in. Dont get me wrong if you grow massive you may want to have a dedicated desk and all the kit but its nice to know that i may be able to do a mod with limited gear as well. cheers

    It would be great to see another HDMI conversion! If you can actually get ahold of the kit.

    • @retrogameon
      @retrogameon  3 роки тому

      I considered it, but they're quite expensive. SCART is perfect for this as long as you have an OSSC

    I think Mr. Worthington might have another $55 incoming...
    Thanks for showing this to me. Soldering those wires to those pins looked a bit nerve-wracking, haha.
    I think I'll be placing my order so I can perform the mod and have my own video on it too.
    Part of the reason I don't play my N64 much is the video quality. Another reason is to preserve those plastic analogue sticks...

    • @retrogameon
      @retrogameon  3 роки тому +1

      I've also installed his GGTV for the Game Gear in a previous video so I can directly capture footage. That was a useful, easy to install mod too.

    • @JoystickDivision
      @JoystickDivision 3 роки тому

      I'd love to have a better way to capture footage directly from analogue systems. I had a SCART to HDMI converter which worked well, even for 240p systems, but the output quality was just not that great.

    • @retrogameon
      @retrogameon  3 роки тому

      @@JoystickDivision I use an Elgato Game Capture HD that natively supports composite and component, but it's sadly long discontinued.

    • @JoystickDivision
      @JoystickDivision 3 роки тому

      My brother has one of those ones, I used to use it for analogue inputs and it worked great. I just wasn't happy with the source it was recording from (the aforementioned adaptor).
      I have an Elgato Game Capture HD60 now, which sadly omits the analogue input.
      I have actually tried daisy chaining the capture devices together, but it didn't work out.
      I'd like an OSSC or the elusive and expensive Framemeister.

    Is this a PAL console? I assume it is because it's Australia. The reason that I'm asking is because I heard previously that only Japanese and American consoles can be modded with RGB. I heard there are only a few exceptions with PAL regarding certain versions and or that the only European ones that can be modded with RGB is french ones (SECAM). Can you or someone else please enlighten me

    • @retrogameon
