You made a very valid statement in saying '...Not trying to make a beat like Dilla just using the influence.." Respect the teacher for sure. Utilized many of Dilla's snares and 2 things I have learned is 1) Don't try to be Dilla b/c he is the only one ever and 2) just make the beat, don't think about it, just let it flow
HorrorTV - Maybe they were twins, but the fertilized embryos were separated and the fetal development took place in two different surrogate wombs. Of course this may present a problem for the parthenogenesis hypothesis, which states that Ma Dukes was fertilized by the divine. That would put Dilla in the company of Jesus, Osiris and Kim Il Song.
Yo man, I truly appreciate all your work and effort. I truly, honestly believe that your channel deserves more subscribers and views! I hope you all well and God bless. Thank you J Filt, keep on rocking.
Dilla lives on thru people like you Filt, thank you for your dedication to Hip Hop, I just got started in beatmaking and your channel is so helpful, plus your positivity keeps me motivated when I feel like giving up. Salute from the UK. @hipstorian
honestly the most down to earth and kind-souled creator i have ever encountered on youtube. Keep doing what you're doing man, your videos motivate me every single day
Happy Dilla Day People ..! He has been the biggest influence in my music world since I discovered him .. Hands down , my favorite Producer of all Time .. Thanks for everything , Filt .. Appreciate yah ..!
Just think of starting form the 1 on the four and then returning to regular order on the 2 of the next bar. Its a moveable techniue in that it can be performed on any subdivision of the groove. Just remember to refl3ct the groove jump in the bassline also, if applicable.
I agree. I seldom if ever use pre looped beats. I program everything note for note with the exception of samples which I also use very little of. So on the strength of that, being creative with beat patterns is a must for me. I've encountered a lot of flack because of the unorthodox nature of my programming but those that get it understand my direction. Great videos my dude! I'll stay tuned!👊
Hello, I just watched all the J Dilla inspired techniques and it was very interesting. I took notes on a paper for each episode to remember and now I have to test and mix theses techniques on my Digitakt. Thanks a lot, I subscribed to your channel :)
@WillieGreen You're acting like he's making some immoral gain from making that statement. Get the stick out of your ass and enjoy the video and the dope technique he's teaching us. I wouldn't doubt RZA has used this technique in AT LEAST one of the 1000's of beats he's created. Today's Dilla's birthday and I highly doubt your attitude about this would be approved by him or anybody just trying to learn and give their own output on it. Grow up.
Always facinated with your take on Dilla beats. Can you please do some more Dilla inspired techniques over The Vol2 Vintage J Dilla & Yancey Boys instrumentals over the next few days, In my opinion arguebly his best beats in there
Hey man, love the video! A reccomendation though, would you be able to play the sound from the MPC straight from the output, instead of just playing it through the speakers, then layer your voice on top? I appreciate it would be hard work, but it may sound a bit nicer. Either way, big love from the UK
Would love some follows jfilt. I just got an mpc. Usually play rock music with @theemvps on my label @eeasyrecords but loved hip hop for years and loving learning this new instrument. Miles different from a guitar. The videos have been mad helpful for a newcomer
First I wanna say thank you because I just learned a lot again. What we need is more nujabes techniques. I need to know how we can make his instrumentals sound so harmonious and smooth and unique! Do you know why? And if so please make a video to it! I appreciate you stay blessed brother
