You're not tripping, FM lighting just feels off, not to mention the horrible gamma before as they finally changed it in the newest update. Its not any better but not too washed like before.

I'd say it is more about time and resources. Audio suffers a lot from the quantity over quality approach that games like Forza and The Crew have with cars.
