hi shawnaci!! i just want to say that i found your channel few days ago and omg i'm so glad for that! i saved so much of your book recs and can't wait to read. your content is so important and amazing, keep going!! 🩷
Love the idea of reading diverse authors and dabbling into different genres! One of my goals this year is to also read fiction books from diverse authors as well as different authors from different countries. 🌎
First of all: say all the old people lingo. It makes sense to us lol Yes !! I think you’ll like Goal. It’s so cute and it’s fast paced (to me). I’ve had Sweethand and Make a Scene on my TBR for so long so maybe this is my sign to bump them up. My mom let me borrow When No One is Watching and I’m so intrigued to read it. I’m reading Next of Kin now. And I’ve added a few of these to the never ending TBR so hopefully I’ll get to some of them this year. And Allegedly is EVERYTHING!!! And have you and Alex read Grown yet??? I’m such a Tiffany D Jackson fan girl!
I would love to read more diverse reads and memoirs this year❤ one I am highly anticipating is “A love song for Ricki Wilde” by Tia Williams, which I think you would enjoy (:
Anna Karenina has been on my TBR for years lol. Hopefully this will be the year I’ll get into it. I hope to get into classics from a variety of different countries and cultures.
I don't read a ton of thrillers but I did really like When No One is Watching. She has another thriller coming out this year! Sweethand is so much fun! It's got great banter!
Girlfriend you haven't read St. Ave yet!?! I remember when you put it on your TBR. It's a good read. Read it on your kindle. I freaking loved Love Letter to Whiskey. Fun fact Kandi Steiner & Brittani Cherry have written books together. If you haven't read Brittani's Elements series a definite add to your TBR. I only read book 1 thus far and it was my first read by BC and let me tell she through for loop in that book . I was like what the HELL are they doing?!?! Lol #happyreading as always
I literally binged The Problem with Dating by Brittiany Cherry yesterday. It was 5 stars for me. There was grief, toxic ex, small town, fake dating, grumpy/sunshine. So good! I also have The Mixtape in my TBR after reading The Problem with Dating. I also have Friend Zone and the Happy Ever Playlist on my physical TBR. When I finish that series, I’m definitely moving to Part of Your World.
I think you should check out something from Asia Monique. I love her contemporary romances. I recommend the Flower Sisters series and And Then Life Was Beautiful.
Maybe adjust your expectations for When No One is Watching by Alyssa Cole. I love her romance, but this book, while it highlighted some important topics, lulled in a lot of places and felt rushed in the end. The end almost felt disjointed from the rest of the book. It’s still good enough to read but I would go in with lowered expectations from reading her romance. Speaking of romance, have you read her book A Princess in Therory? It’s my favorite of hers it’s a relevant and relatable black romance with some humor.
Oo thanks for letting me know! I didn’t even know she had romances! Did you enjoy them? & I haven’t read or heard of that book! Thanks for the recommendation!
@@ShawnaciSchroederyes I enjoyed most all of her romance novels. Haven’t gotten around to some of her historical romance yet but her contemporary romances are great. Her Reluctant Royals series is a great start.
Currently reading Powerless and O M G. I am swooned!! Lol I think you will love this book but it is definitely a slooow burn. But you will NOT be bored. Happy reading ❤
The Mixtape, love letters to whiskey and all about love are on my TBR this year. I also want to get through Abby Jimenez’s back list, and Finish Kennedy Ryan’s back list
I'm currently reading The Friend Zone & it's fantastic!! I found Abby Jimenez through her backlist in 2023-I still think about it, it made her a must-read author for me. I'm late to the game, but I'm so glad I found her work!! Good luck! 🩷 I have a very special suggestion for you. Would you please consider doing a YA romance recommendation video, just in time for Valentine's Day next month?
Right so I’ve been putting off reading Mariana zapata books for so long because of the big slow burn but I started wait for it this week by her, currently they’re only becoming friendly about half way through, I really thought I’d hate it but it’s still sitting at 5⭐️ so far for me and I’m SHOCKED by that🤣 it almost seems more realistic?? I don’t know I’m just flying through it excited to see how they come together and I’m having a good time🤣 I’m also dipping my toes into fantasy for the first time and listening to Caraval which I’m loving so far❤️ I’m the same though, i’m a romance girl through and through and that won’t change🤣 Windy city series, off campus & behind the net/the fake out are some of the best ones I’ve read recently! 🥰
Powerless is on my immediate TBR. You are going to enjoy Allegedly. It was a quick read for me. This book is different from your romance but it is a really good read.
There’s so many in here that sound so good to me that I’ve never heard of before! Thank you for sharing because I have a lot that are now on my tbr as well!
I want to diversify my reads this year. The last five books I read out of my normal type of reads two were disappointing reads and the other three were dnf’s. It’s so hard for me to find diverse books that fit my picky book taste. I’m definitely going to keep trying this year though. So I don’t have a list yet but I’m going to be putting one together soon.
@@ShawnaciSchroeder I have the same ones!!! 🙈 They sound soooooo good, but I’m afraid I’ll get to page 200 and just be like “get on with it already!!!” haha
Next of Kin is a great book, and the plot twist was so good. I'm gonna dive into black indie romance books in 2024 and want to start with Asia Monique and Sinful Vows
I saw your reel on IG and thought it was a repost you look so different on 1st glance with the glasses 😂🤓 I'm looking forward ⏩ to reading Goal, The Mixtape, Where there's smoke there's a fire, All About Love & Allegedly 🤌🏾📖📚✨ When No One was Watching was 3 ⭐ for me 😫😬🤦🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️
Hi! I’m excited for the 24 books on your TBR for the year. I’ve always been curious of Love Letter To Whiskey! I heard it from another book tuber, 2022, so I can’t wait to hear what you think and I’ll dive into it. Happy reading everyone!🎉
I really liked reading the last minute first lady. There were a few moments where I wanted to help Cassian keep his foot out of his mouth but it was fun read. One of your tiktoks came up on my for you feed and I realized I needed to follow you on there too. I always hear about what a match by mimi so I'm glad you mentioned make a scene, most definitely will pick it up
Mariana is a good slow burn author. The Goal is soo good. I’ve had a couple of these books on my shelf like over a year now. Meme Grace books are great as well 😊. Tiffany D. Jackson is a 💣 a** author.
YAYYYY! You’re reading two books (Allegedly and All About Love) that’s on my Top 24 in 2024 too. On my Top 24 list, I have 6 books for each of my top genres (historical fiction, memoirs, and literary/contemporary fiction) and 6 books from a mixed genres list.
I do have books to read this year Queen of the damned by Anne rice Worthy by jada pinkett Smith Column of fire by ken follett Anna karenina Emma by Jane Austen
You should check out the seven month itch by Tanvier Peart it's her debut romance novel about a women going to a singles retreat and her future ex-husband shows up after 7 months of not seeing each other.
I think because they were late in their age and I was just turning that age it felt like such a larger difference. He also was giving off grooming vibes 😬😬
Have you read All the Ugly and Wonderful Things? By Bryn Greenwood: beautiful and provocative love story between two unlikely people and the hard-won relationship that elevates them above the Midwestern meth lab backdrop of their lives
Have you thought of starting a book club? 😊 Your TBR is our TBR 😂
I am glad that I found Tinia Montford through this video.
I enjoyed watching One Tree Hill when I was younger.

I finished the Goal by Alexandria a few weeks ago. I love this book. Ok bye. I need to finish the video lol

The Mixtape is awesome. I cried towards the end. I love this book. December 2023, I started by reading. I love your content. Thank you
Make a scene was awesome as well

I want to read Magnolia Parks 😃

I do too! I wish it was on KU
