    Subscribed! What type of molecular sieves are you using? The method I know of to concentrate O2 using sieves uses high pressure (pressure swing absorption), and due to the pressures involved, usually the sieve canisters are made out of metal. Are you not using high pressures? Or are the pressures low enough that the PVC can handle it?

    I know this is a little late and I don't know if anyone keeps up with this youtube account but I wanted to ask... Has anyone taken into account the flamability of pvc (I.E. it being fuel in a oxygen saturated enviroment). I'm not asking this to diminish the work you guys did coming up with this amazing solution to a problem. I am asking as I am not an engineer but I do love this sort of thing. I have been reading research papers involving temperature and pressure variables and how they effect molecular sievs. I have had a few knowlegable old timers warn me about oily rags or even using lubricants on oxygen equipment. I remember the accident during the apollo program that I won't elaborate on. I want to say I have even seen liquid fuel rockets using pvc or some sort of acrylic as the fuel.
    Is this a non issue due to the working pressure of the oxikit design? If pressure were increased would this need to be considered? I understand there generally needs to be a ignition source but that can come in any number of ways. Anyways, I am just asking to better understand when it becomes a dangerous concern (I.E. all the variables align to where it could ignite). I think people who work with high purity oxygen (no matter the field) get too complacent or simply forget how dangerous it can be given certain circumstances.
    Lastly, thanks for the efforts from all the people that worked on this. It showcases the better aspects of human nature and gives me some much needed faith in humanity.

      Even steel is a consumable fuel in the presence of oxygen. We just try to never light our generators on fire🔥 or expose them to heat

      The Apollo oxygen fire was no accident. A few days before the head astronaut said the lunar mission would be a failure and hung a lemon on a coat hanger and hung it on the capsule as to say it's a lemon. A few days later he was incinerated

    Where to get this parts some of them i never saw before. Like thoose plastic mesh like canister ends. The pdf you need is on Github but its not in order. I Need to convert all meassurments into European standards . Knowing the order of assembly was abit tricky fallowing the pdf so greatfull for this videos but where to find the parts? Other than that this concentrator performs wery well indeed .

    How many liters will the zeolite last? Can it be consistently reused or does one have to buy new zeolite every X liters of O2 produced ?

      @@johnkoury1116are you talking about baking it off to rid the N and CO². To my knowledge, that's like 900°-1000° for a few hours, then ramp down the heat gradually, essentially annealing it.
      I put steel plate on a thick walled steel pipe (base, lid), a crucible essentially (you can get as fancy as you want; weld it, hinge/mending plate, tap it, down to using hose clamps you took off your roommates air filter on their car - you are your own limitation) and throw it in my wood stove for most of a night, pull it out, let it 'cool' on the stove top for a half hour, then move it up to my drying rack to round out the night. It's not exact science this way, but it's effective, mindless and quick enough.

    • @drakedorosh9332
      @drakedorosh9332 2 роки тому

      Yes it gets contaminated. There are specs on how hot you need to heat it to drive off excess moisture that may build up even with a prefilter. This way they spheres can be rejuvenated. The beds do need to be replaced but last many cycles and longer if the material is heat dried when it's effectiveness decreases.

      Purity is affected strongly by two things: temperature and pressure. Get the air from the compressor as dry and cool as you can before sending into the sieves. Also make sure the pressure is maintained. Pressure drops might be from a leak in the plumbing. (Lots of places you can spring a leak)

    This may be totally legit but 100% of fake videos on youtube always drag out tedious construction details and this one takes that to an extreme. I've wasted countless hours on other youtube videos waiting for the final "product" only to realize the whole thing is a scam. I'm not saying this is a scam, but what takes 21 min in this video could have been accomplished in about 4min with a diagram and demonstration. That make me suspicious.

    First, normal PVC glue dries odorless, so won't affect the sieve. Second, you should be using plumber's sandpaper to smooth the cut edges, inside and out. Third, slowly twist pieces until it's hard to twist them, that sets and dries the glue. That tool you bought to open cans, most people use pliers or a pipe wrench.. Twist until it's hard to twist, you will get less leaks. We need to know the pound or kilogram rating for spring... Instead of trying to guess what 2 inches is, use a pencil or tape and mark it at just a hair past 2 inches. Use a rag to immediately wipe off excess to make it look perfect. Is this 3inch PVC or 4? How long was pipe cut??? AND WHERE IS THE SECOND HALF OF THIS DUDE????
