    Nice demonstration. I think I will build one myself, soon! ;) DIN is short for German Institute for Standards. Sometimes (wrongly) used as German Industry Standards.

    I know this is a little late and I don't know if anyone keeps up with this youtube account but I wanted to ask... Has anyone taken into account the flamability of pvc (I.E. it being fuel in a oxygen saturated enviroment). I'm not asking this to diminish the work you guys did coming up with this amazing solution to a problem. I am asking as I am not an engineer but I do love this sort of thing. I have been reading research papers involving temperature and pressure variables and how they effect molecular sievs. I have had a few knowlegable old timers warn me about oily rags or even using lubricants on oxygen equipment. I remember the accident during the apollo program that I won't elaborate on. I want to say I have even seen liquid fuel rockets using pvc or some sort of acrylic as the fuel. Is this a non issue due to the working pressure of the oxikit design? If pressure were increased would this need to be considered? I understand there generally needs to be a ignition source but that can come in any number of ways. Anyways, I am just asking to better understand when it becomes a dangerous concern (I.E. all the variables align to where it could ignite). I think people who work with high purity oxygen (no matter the field) get too complacent or simply forget how dangerous it can be given certain circumstances. Lastly, thanks for the efforts from all the people that worked on this. It showcases the better aspects of human nature and gives me some much needed faith in humanity.

      Even steel is a consumable fuel in the presence of oxygen. We just try to never light our generators on fire🔥 or expose them to heat

      The Apollo oxygen fire was no accident. A few days before the head astronaut said the lunar mission would be a failure and hung a lemon on a coat hanger and hung it on the capsule as to say it's a lemon. A few days later he was incinerated

    OxiKit.. Dude, you are sitting on a goldmine. The Nitrogen you collect from the oxygen concentrator can be used to make fertilizer. It takes a hell of a lot of energy to make nitrogen the way we presently do.

    This may be totally legit but 100% of fake videos on youtube always drag out tedious construction details and this one takes that to an extreme. I've wasted countless hours on other youtube videos waiting for the final "product" only to realize the whole thing is a scam. I'm not saying this is a scam, but what takes 21 min in this video could have been accomplished in about 4min with a diagram and demonstration. That make me suspicious.

    Subscribed! What type of molecular sieves are you using? The method I know of to concentrate O2 using sieves uses high pressure (pressure swing absorption), and due to the pressures involved, usually the sieve canisters are made out of metal. Are you not using high pressures? Or are the pressures low enough that the PVC can handle it?

    Where to get this parts some of them i never saw before. Like thoose plastic mesh like canister ends. The pdf you need is on Github but its not in order. I Need to convert all meassurments into European standards . Knowing the order of assembly was abit tricky fallowing the pdf so greatfull for this videos but where to find the parts? Other than that this concentrator performs wery well indeed .

    1. Why use a spring to keep the zeolite from moving? Why not use a solid, hollow barrier? 2. Referring to the video on how the concentrator works: How will moisture present in the air be exhausted before entering the sieve canister? 3. If the size of this project is scaled up say 1000 times, is arduino still sufficient for the programming? 4. I will not mind an internship to learn this technology. I know arduino programming, I have PSA plant experience, I can service compressors, I can refill different gases cylinders and racks up to 300bar, I know cryogenic technology, I know medical gases supply system installation and, I know how important oxygen is to mankind right now. I will like to play my own part in making oxygen more available. 🙂

      These are just PVC drain pipes that are from the hardware store. They are filled with zeolite spheres x-13 and doped with lithium if you can get it. Oh wait he said he lists it on his website- sodium doped.

    does the material INSIDE-- ever need to be REPLACED-- does it wear out??

    • @drakedorosh9332
      @drakedorosh9332 2 роки тому

      Yes it gets contaminated. There are specs on how hot you need to heat it to drive off excess moisture that may build up even with a prefilter. This way they spheres can be rejuvenated. The beds do need to be replaced but last many cycles and longer if the material is heat dried when it's effectiveness decreases.

      Purity is affected strongly by two things: temperature and pressure. Get the air from the compressor as dry and cool as you can before sending into the sieves. Also make sure the pressure is maintained. Pressure drops might be from a leak in the plumbing. (Lots of places you can spring a leak)

      Wow... Have you ever heard the old saying, that it is better to have people "think" you are an idiot than it is to open your mouth and remove all dought? You might want to look up a 3" x 3/4" Sch 40 PVC Reducer Bushing Flush Style - Spig x Fipt. I found three different suppliers online that all list the same size and type fitting yet they all look a bit different. I bought and returned some fittings at home depot that all had the same part number but were not made by the same manufacturer so they did not fit the same.
