My favorite Fran chapter was when she kept turning herself more into some dude's wife, even down to her voice and memories, to test at what it means to love someone, and then the dude just ended up not loving whatever idea of the woman he came to love because it was tampered by Fran's cruel journey for knowledge

My favorite chapter is when Fran literally uses Genocide as the solution to a mundane problem.

my favorite character is adorea! i love how whenever she interacts with “normal” folks, they end up falling head over heels for her.

I would just like to say that Frankenstein is not a book that straightforwardly condemns science or medicine or anything of the sort. That's a very conservative reading of the text. Mary Shelley was aware of cutting edge science at the time, and not only where her parents radical philosophers, but she belonged to a group of very forward thinking romantic thinkers. You could argue that Shelley was warning us against unchecked progress (not only of the scientific variety, but also in the social sense), but she in no way was trying to condemn science or medicine as a whole with her book. Also, the themes of the book run way deeper. The Monster isn't really the issue, nor the unethical creation of it. It's just a newborn creature. The true tragedy and horror starts the moment his creator rejects him for his monstrosity, as all other humans who see him, and he is turned evil in turn. Frankenstein is perhaps more of a social and philosophical horror than it is a scientific one, even if it doesn't look like it initially. It's not that that reading doesn't have merit, mind you, but it's not really in line with the text as it was originally written by Mary Shelley
Aside from that, cool video, I love me some Franken Fran

Honestly, Fran is the definition of creepy-cute. Yes, she's covered in stitches, her eyes fall out, she can attach four (or six?) more arms for her operations, and she's got a, for most people, screwed up sense of right and wrong.
But at the same time, she's adorable af, not only in general looks, but many of her idiosyncracies as well. When she's not operation or experimenting, she's wanting to understand love, helping others out and simply trying new things, even outside medicine/science.
And despite, or rather because of her screwed up morals, if you go to her for help, or by some chance, land on her operating table sick or injured, you can count on her trying everything possible and impossible to save your life.
As long as you don't try anything stupid or try to screw her over, you have nothign to fear, really. I'd take living in a weird or completely new body over dying, any day, really.
For the most part, the only ones who die/get screwed up are the bad guys and those who do not like getting exactly what they asked for....

Did you read both mangas because when you said the dog chapter I thought it was going to be the one about the dog's brain being placed in a human body

Do you have any other body horror recommendations? Not by Junji Ito. I don’t like his stuff

There’s a short manga called “Insect Princess” that I rather like. The author Hokozono Masaya made a handful of horror works. Although some of the translations I found weren’t great( they insert meme humour very often and it bugs me). But I know at least insect princess has a good one.
“Mononouke Soushi”, “Nurse Hitomi’s Monster infirmary” and “Devilman” aren’t as horror oriented. It leans more folktale and action respectively. but I like them a lot. Nurse Hitomi definitely resembles Franken Fran the most.
I sadly haven’t seen any spooky horror anime that I like.
For movies “Tusk” is easily the funniest. As for the spookiest I’d say “Get Out” or “The Thing” are my favourite picks.
For Video games I’m not too experienced with horror games. But I enjoyed every resident evil game I ever touched.
