Keco dropping the knowledge we all need to listen and learn from. Man, I was a going into this week wanting Artisan BW, Iron Spider, & Joker. Had all 3 in the cart and only pulled the trigger on Artisan Holland. I always do payment plans, but when you have too many pre orders at once you’re going to fuck yourself over. I’m a single father of one 8 year old daughter. I have to be more selective and only buy what I connect with and know for a fact I want. Those 10% NRD’s are easy to get till those larger monthly payments become due on the plan. I’ve learned by lesson in the past having too many pre orders at once. At the end of the day you cannot have them all. Just be content with that and you’ll sleep better.
I always look forward to your videos. It’s refreshing to have someone talk about stuff that others sweep under the rug. I think as collectors, we go through phases. Initially we are very enthusiastic and go out there and grab everything that catches our eyes. The high was from collecting and unboxing. Then at some point, reality and maturity sets in and we realize that we have spent more than we should, that we have finite space, that the mountain of boxes and lack of space no longer give us joy. Then we start to get joy from selling off the items that were clearly purchased on an impulse. We start to “trim the fat” as I call it. However, for some of us, we still fall prey to clever marketing and pull the trigger only to regret it somewhere down the road. I’m speaking from personal experience. Recent releases have actually reinforced the fact that sometimes not giving in to FOMO is the right choice. The two examples for me are the Darth Mail hologram statue and the re-release 1989 Batman. I am a huge fan of both characters and struggled not to pull the trigger. I held off and when I see the two released, I knew I made the right choice. The Darth Mail statue turned out terrible with the lighting up not enough bright enough to illuminate the face and the excess texturing on the 89 Batman suit made me appreciate my DX09 more. Other examples include the re-release Selina Kyle who looked nothing like Anne Hathaway . I’m still on the middle of trimming the fat of my collection but I just hope my experience can help anyone suffering from the struggle to not overextend their finances. Remember that Hot Toys will need to rehash certain characters because of you think about it, other than Deadpool and Wolverine, there really aren’t many good characters from recent Marvel, Star Wars and DC movies and shows people can get behind.
Talk about perspective. Spot on. And I feel like a great deal of Hot Toys collectors are also into other things, so that cost on top plus living life; it’s a lot with a meticulous plan.
Again preach the fire brother! I was on the live stream today and had the order ready and did not pull the trigger because I was going on fomo as opposed to an actual need! Thank you so much for putting a video like this out and making all of us think before we act! Strong work 💪🏻💪🏻🔥🔥🔥
Thank you, thank you for making this--pre-orders happen in the heat and fire of FOMO and the word "limited." We got blasted yes, but we do NOT have to buy everything. I cancelled 15 pre-orders last week as I had to be honest and realize they were not Grail status for me. I am so relived you talk about all sides of 1/6 collecting, the highs and lows. Collect what makes you happy, but make it count as these are not cheap!
Such an engaging and thought-provoking intro. Loved the video, I think many collectors needed to hear this. Personally, I only have a few figures that I intend to obtain for now. I don't care much about anything else, and will only purchase figures that are on my list.
As someone who's collected Hot Toys since 2009 I know first hand that your collection grows and space eventually becomes an issue. I keep all my figures so I try to keep my yearly orders to a limit. If I miss out on a figure I know theres a pretty good chance they'll put out an updated version one day so patience is your best friend in this hobby. Great video as always!
Very important video Keco. I liked how you did the numbering system because the not knowing of what's coming next does indeed blindside us because we get interested in the hot new thing immediately after making a high purchase. I planned on buying probably two 1/6 figures this year but I've ended up buying five so far, I actually bought a figure that I regretted buying! I'm Irish living in Ireland and I know people that wouldn't mind spending $300 on a night out so I don't feel bad about spending that on a figure 😅😂.
@@KeCoCollects that's how I justify my spending 😂. I don't do many nights out any more and I've no bad habits other than collecting! My big problem now is space because I collect 6 inch figures too. If the Deadpool line goes deep with Colossus and the cameos I'm in trouble 😂.
My wait list converted on the dock ock figure and I was genuinely considering buying it and a custom head sculpt. If I had decided to buy that it would have been over $800. Only 4 days after my wait list expired I had to get car insurance and get a new plate for the state I moved to. The insurance and plate ended up being $1k. You best believe I was glad I decided to passed lol
So the thing I've noticed across the hobbies is this: Statues are changing their market and applying themselves towards the rich only and not the average Joe anymore. This has left a gap that 1/6 companies are trying to fill with their products and the prices they portray. This means you will start to see exclusive only, limited editions and variants pushed more and more to grab that higher paying market that is willing to pay
As you sad Keco, most important is to have connections to characters we collect. My advice is to have a separate account on HT where you always put a certain reasonable amount of money after your payday. This is how I do it and it is very helpful.
Thanks for the video, I really enjoyed it. Definitely good advice. I enjoy your calm and KeCollected videos.😉 I'm taking a break after Wolverine, Deadpool and Ladypool. Would bend this rule for Matrix and Peter A/B Parker figures though. Happy collecting everyone. ✌
You are absolutely right. We’re having to decide on figures without knowing what’s coming next so we end up paying NRDs for figures we’re going to eventually cancel. When NRDS were $20, it wasn’t so bad. Now it’s $40 - $50. It’s time to make harder decisions.
As someone who is extremely new to 1:6 and Hot Toys, this stuff is crazy. Obviously Im too late on a lot of coveted figures and not ready to commit to the wave coming ahead. I think I have an idea what I want to dabble in with this scale, but there is absolutely a lot of figures outside of my “plan” that are too tempting. I have a solid 6-7 inch scale collection of figures from various toy lines that realistically represent my top 5 fandoms perfectly. I wanted to use 1:6 to be the next tier of a couple of those (TMNT, Batman, SpiderMan, MMPR, and wrestling).
What you forgot in your video is another threat of any collector: space. Most of us only have a few cases and if You’re lucky a room dedicated to collecting. What I always think of is whats coming next. Hot Toys won’t stop and you have to have a clear Vision about what you really want and what is just cool. With that being said even with being selective and only focussing on the prequels I am at 10+ POs right now and I expect more to come with next years 20th ROTS anniversary. I am Out for all of the exclusives. Even canceled Mando Obi WAN because deep in my heart I know that I only Need one Obi Wan
Interesting thoughts Keco agree we all gotta slow down on po’s there’s too much stuff coming out & space is obviously always an issue n cost of getting figures is going up aswell. No easy times here haha
I was just thinking about this the other day, slowing down on collecting as there’s just way too many preorders coming at us! One thing I’ve told myself is that I don’t need to preorder these figures and can always get them later on the secondary market if need be. For example, last year I was really hoping for a 2.0 announcement of a ROTJ Boba Fett but when it seemed like none would come I decided to just go on eBay and buy the ESB 40th Boba Fett (I needed a proper OG representation of Boba Fett on the shelf!). Sure, I paid a little over retail for it, but that figure has been sold out since 2020. And I got it in 2023 when I had the funds, not in 2020 when I was unemployed and unable to buy anything. So my point is, collectors can always buy these figures later. We should never give into FOMO if we can help it. This is one of the best videos you’ve done Keco and sure to help some collectors. Can’t wait for the next one!
Great content dude. Well said. People are being played. Stop putting money on everything and then losing it when you tap out. Stop it. Please. They limit quantities and drive the price up and you can make it worse with hype spending then folding.
Today, after your video was already made, there was a Reddit post just 1 hour after the Joaquin Joker was available asking if anyone else regrets buying the figure. 1 HOUR AFTERWARD! It's insane to read people agreeing they regret preordering the figure already. I seriously think people chase the high of ordering new figures and when the bell rings to pay up, they cancel orders. With all these announcements the past 10-14 days, the only figures I've preordered are Deadpool, Wolverine, and Grievous. Had to pass on the rest because I know we'll see more bangers the next 5 months and I need to pace myself. Also, I hate seeing people say, "thank god for payment plans". Those same people will buy a car greater than their salary simply because they can afford the monthly payments. Focus on the total cost, not what you're paying each month.
These are harsh words for some, but words that are needed to be heard every once in a while. It's easy to be influenced, especially in a hobby like this. Just yesterday, there was a reddit post 20 minutes after the Artisan Joker went up. Saying they regretted their purchase. The queue system is so predatory for people that are on the fence or just want to try their luck. It's a gambling addiction. Thanks for the words KeCo, I've got a budget and don't spend outside of my means, but I know a lot of collectors don't do that.
Over the past year I have came up with a list of ten figures that I want to complete the look of my collection to finish it. Some of these figures don’t even exist yet. It always is tempting when something new gets revealed but if it’s not on the list I don’t get it. Because I need the money for a figure on my list in the future. It’s fun to see someone on the same train of thought as me.
The "buy now, pay later" mentality has suckered a lot of people into living outside their means. If things start getting out of control, I think one has to really go all in, and commit to paying the full invoice on day one if they know it's a must have. You will instantly start seeing collectors tighten their wallets.
Awesome video! I’ve been collecting for quite a few years now, and I’ve Defintiely have had to learn some hard lessons! Having too many figures on pre orders at once with the mindset of “oh these won’t come out for a year, I can just save up” then before you know it, time flies. I’ve reached a healthy point in my collecting. I just get figures of characters I love most. Passed on Deadpool, though I love all those movies, the marvel rabbit hole is too much lol. I, however, am a HUGE 2019 joker fan so I got the standard version of him. I am hoping for a 2.0 Brandon Lee The Crow from hot toys though! That, I will pre order instantly lol
Ill definitely be taking this advice to heart, ive only become interested in hot toys in the last few months and have put a pre order on the rotj vader with the Sebastian shaw sculpt for my first one and now im already torn between that and this new battle damaged one. Tricky hobby!
Sir, you are 100% correct. I have a list of about 10 POs that I’m waiting to cancel and just hoping they get delayed so that I can get my NRDs back. Over the past year I’ve seen myself cancel things that I’ve ordered because of various reasons. I found an amazing deal on other figures I had written off because of their price…so I canceled two figures that I did kinda want in order to get three that I REALLY wanted. Lost those NRDs and then realized later that I would have gotten that money back too, had I just waited a month for them to delay the figures I canceled. I’m waiting for delays to cancel my Guardians 3 figures since they haven’t said anything about team suit Drax or Mantis in about a year since the others went up for order. I’m waiting to cancel the troopers from Ahsoka, because now the Deadpool and Wolverine line is happening and the X-Men related stuff (Especially my boy Logan) takes priority over EVERYTHING for me. I’m waiting to cancel my Kang order for several reasons…some of which are pretty obvious. I want Chewbacca, but I’m not gonna get him and I’m gonna have to cancel my Han Solo. He was a lot of hype, and rightfully so, but he really isn’t for me and I should pay attention to those things.
I preordered a majority of the summer showcase figures, however I canceled a few older preorders that I'm not too high on that were delayed so I could get that NRD back and sold a few to keep room open in the display. It is easy to go overboard, but balancing open display space and a budget is key.
Yeah, it's too easy to fall into the rabbit hole of FOMO. I make comfortable salary and I just have to worry about me again, so I have flexibility in how I spend. But even then, the recognition that I set up barriers for a reason and the fact there will be more cool figures I know I *do* want to buy (rather that giving into FOMO) kept me sane these last couple of weeks and limited my pre-orders to only Black Widow and Scorch.
This is exactly why I just get Star Wars figures from Hot Toys, and more specifically just dark side characters. I was able to preorder Grievous and Vader, but I know for a fact I would've got that artisan Joker if I was open to collecting more than just Star Wars
8:41 Yeah I’m not gonna lie, these announcements has been overwhelming to say the least. Don’t get me wrong they’re all great announcements and amazing releases but tbh I’ve probably spent way too much on PO in July than any other month for figures and that’s crazy! Not to mention on in-stock figures that people are buying in between these preorders. Luckily for me I don’t buy every figure that comes out, I only get the ones that fit my collection that I want. I also seen a few people recently cancelling their preorder due to fomo and having figures that don’t fit into their collection. So tbh and like Keco always says.. “buy within your means.” Great video and a very intriguing topic discussion for sure! I hope you bring up this topic for today’s livestream. 🔥🔥
I never really fall for those things when I start collecting I made a list of all the characters I needed called "Don't buy anything else " it even has space for weir star wars aliens and 2.0s but if it's not in the list it doesn't go in my collection 😁😁😁🙌
Honestly this video kind of sums up how I’ve been feeling lately about collecting, I just recently went through and cancelled a couple pre orders cause I realized I was ordering more than I should have, I collect marvel and Star Wars hot toys and they truly have been releasing some bangers along side Deadpool and wolverine, scorch, general grevious, arc troopers fives and echo.
After many years of collecting... I've come to realize that you DON'T have to pre-order everything that you want. In most cases, that figure will be easily accessible. And in some cases.. lower than retail! One way of knowing if that specific figure is or isn't going to be easily accessible after its initial release.... Is there a lot of talk and hype activity when announced? Is there a television series or movie currently showing? If there isn't media currently surrounding that specific character, the pre-orders are going to be lower. Which in turn, means that figure will have a lower batch count. Which means that the possibility of a higher secondary market value will most likely occur.
Okay I just finished watching it 1. Can we not see the writing on the pavement until the end? :( 2. I agree a lot, fomo and Sideshow queues are no reason to cripple yourself! Would actually be cheaper paying a little more on the aftermarket on a figure you regret passing on than preordering loads of figures just in case lol. 3. Star Ace tomorrow could announce their "Assisan" line: their ultimate ass figures, meticulously crafted to he as ass as possible and if we spend all our money on Hot Toys impulse buys we would miss out!
You’re one of my favorite figure channels in the space and I don’t even collect hot toys. I love that idea you had at the beginning. You mind if I use it for a video idea?
0:31 This looks fun! Okay here’s my ranking for these figures: 1. Scarlet Spider is a 4 2. Batman Forever is a 5 3. Darkside Anakin is a 2 4. Clone Wars Kenobi is a 3 5. Black Suit Spidey is a 1 Looks like my top two are Darkside Anakin and Black Suit Spidey 🔥🔥
1.Symbiote Spider 2.Dark Side WannyKin 3. General OB 4.Batman Forever 5.Scarlet Spider Personally I would not have ordered any of these. Generally only buy 2 figures a year the other 6 I earn via working a couple conventions for a buddy that distributes Hot Toys 🧸
I just got my 8th Hot Toy today in the mail after just paying it off. Got my Umbra yesterday which i got via PP Pay in 4...i want Scorch but im also not ready to pay aftermarket. Already got 4 HTs on preorder. Currently chilling to prep space. And that means boxes...oh boy.
This is why I stick to Batman. Heck, that alone can make you poor. I only had to worry about one artisan this week. I’d love to have more, but I have other obligations that come first. Gotta be smart. Great video!
This has been a tough week, Fomo really gets the best of us I had to get Scorch for the Star Wars collection but sadly I have both hono exclusive Wolverine and joker pre ordered for a Star Wars/ Lord of the rings collection in the great words of Anakin,” What have I done “😅
Do agree with most of what you said but you also have to take in account when these figures are estimated to actually be released and a good majority of them won’t be out for another year. Besides that sideshow’s payment plan isn’t the only options with Affirm and Paypal Credit which i personally use once a figure is about to ship out but can be a bit chaotic if multiple figures ship out at once. Yes, i do agree you should try and limit yourself by sticking to one fandom / franchise at a time but as you said, you just never know what the next figure is going to be until it’s announced so FOMO does become a factor. I’ve only been collecting about 10 months now and have 60 + figures. Yes there are some I could of did without but am happy to have them regardless. It is a expensive hobby, no question about it.
@@KeCoCollects no if ands or butts about it! I personally don’t mind putting a NRD down on a figure that’s releasing 6-8 months later but what gets you is when figures release earlier then you thought they would and or figures shipping out back to back. Due to this i might have to cancel certain pre-orders if they ship out soon and i really don’t want it to come to that but sadly it is what it is.
I love your Videos and I‘ve Started to collect Hot Toys because of you. I am a die Hard DC Comics Fan, so I only collect the DC Stuff or from my Favourite Movies. No Marvel or Star Wars.
I just canceled 2 preorders because of this video. I'm not blaming you, just telling you I made a good decision because of your wake up call! Too much 🔥 coming out lately
Awesome video KeCo. I felt this way today with the Artisan Joker. I had it in my cart and then passed. I realized I was giving into FOMO. While I like the Joker movie, I don’t love it and it’s too depressing for me to want to watch again so why do I want this figure?
Having 4 kids , car payments ,bills and mortgages sometimes I feel guilty of buying hot toys .. been collecting since 2010 . Used to have a house but we rent now ..
i felt this hot toys have been releasing so many figures lately this why i originally got out of star wars while i could, i got the artisan black widow on po, ladypool, wolverine, and deadpool, out of all the new recent reveals
For me I stick with Zack Snyder's DC films, and a couple random characters like a StarLord and Harley Quinn. I would love to get all the Deadpool figures but I'm just sticking with the Wolverines. I missed out on Wonder Woman 100 but thankfully I didn't want any of the artisans. Helps I don't collect Star Wars which ironically is what led me to the realization you can't collect it all. Now my nephew on the other hand who is collecting Star Wars, he's starting to learn that lesson now.
ehm, how did you get 5 artboxes??? didn't you throw them all away. I sense bit of hypocrisy here, so time to throw away the soap box too :D lol, just kidding of course, but it was fun to notice. Personally I stick to only the fandoms I collect, and nothing else. So that makes quite a few figures easy skips, especially as I made it a rule for myself to never collect clones. It still is tricky to decide when a new release is worth it. Especially with the collection space running out. Great video mate!
I tell myself it’s not Pokémon because you can’t collect them all. There are times I still try to collect them all but I remind myself to let some figures go and stick to the plan.
Great video and perception with the game. It's exactly like that. I got black spiderman in 2 and ds anakin in 2. But it's true, we're seeing good releases with bane and vader episode 6 incoming. But we're having artisan drops and potential of ds anakin. So do you get the new releases before they go up or drop later. Or miss out and hope that artisan limited you want is next. It's like betting and we know how that ends. Softly does it maybe.
Is it me or is sideshow messing with us mentally with the pre orders? I’ve only been collecting since 2022 but it seems impossible to get any hot toy I want that I didn’t pre-order at market price. Been waiting awhile on the waitlist for Ironman mark 3, bespin Luke, deluxe scarlet witch, kang and the 89 Batmobile. I was also waitlisted forever for all the no way home line but got them all elsewhere. Does sideshow reduce the product they buy and do this on purpose to fomo us into pre ordering more figures ? I wonder if for a certain determined period of time they report the pre order numbers to hot toys and then convert it to waitlist only.
In 2023 im starting my collection with omniman from soosootoys and homelander from toys work toys era and start 2024 with invincible from soosootoys and i want 2 or 3 figure more and 2025 inart the walking dead
You mention an annual average wage of USD 62,000. What about countries that the annual average is about USD 23,000? It is not like we get reduced prices for Hot Toys here. So obviosuly we have to be evern more careful with how we budget and what we buy.
@@KeCoCollects I guess in my mind that if I have to be concerned that posing the body might affect its long term aesthetic then for myself I’d rather just get a statue or a cheaper more poseable figure. Just a deal breaker for me I guess.
I'll be honest...I've ordered only 3 hot toys in 2024 (artisan luke, artisan iron spider, and wolverine). I still love hot toys, and the announcements are great but I find myself being extremely selective now. Terminator and predator I will grab if they drop, but otherwise that's it as of now. I don't need the battle damaged vader as cool as it is, I have kenobi vader, but I rather spend big chunks of money on my seasons tickets to the bills, traveling, and just in general my family. Going into debt (or even just not saving money) for these to sit in my office is just foolish. I also enjoy the figures I have, and get, much more because I am selective.
Lmao man the PSL at the new stadium are outrageous...as much as 50k per seat (for high end clubs). Cheapest right now is 8k per seat, waiting to hear what upper deck 45 yard line are 🤣🤣 and people think hot toys/inart are a greedy scam...the NFL wants a word 🤣
I dont really understand the whole artisan hype. It honestly feels like when it comes to those, it's nothing but fomo. Personally rooted hair just seems like to much work. I guess if your taking pictures then yea its great. I have the batgirl and the rooted hair is already finicky.
I had a couple artisan figures in my cart this week BW. Spider-Man , joker. I pulled the trigger on BW because she looked the best with the wool hair. I didn’t feel Spider-Man or joker were worth the $160 additional price tag. I’m actually kinda sick of hot toys especially if this is the new way they going to do buisness. Putting up all those artisans at 500-600$ really sucks as a collector and I know they aren’t putting a gun to my head to buy but it is kinda disheartening seeing all these exclusive/ revamps etc etc.
I don’t touch Marvel or Star Wars figures anymore. It’s too many of them. I collect obscure figures. Horror, old 80’s and early 90’s movies with nostalgia from my childhood. I will be getting anything Terminator, Predator or Aliens related moving forward. You gotta pick a lane and stay in it. Your wallet will thank you.
@@KeCoCollects this video was supposed to sway me into making better decisions, all it did was make me think “ preordered that, that and that…. And I need that general Kenobi too”….😂.
I think a good rule of thumb is, if you’re thinking about doing a payment plan for a figure, you probably shouldn’t be buying one right now and wait until you can buy it in full.
lol that’s dumb that’s the only way I can buy figures…… I have a house payment and kids and one in college and his car and everything so giving sideshow $50 a month is fine with me and I won’t even notice it!
@@Pokemonisall to his video point, I’m talking about people making payments for multiple figures to the point it’s worth a car note. Also, I don’t think it’s dumb, less debt you have the better but that’s totally up to you. Paying hundreds of dollars over the span of half a year on figures… yeah.
Your game is a bit tricky Each collector is a world in itself I don't much care for star wars, but I love DC.... Therefore, batman goes first... but just for me, I'm aware 😊
My advice is if you are renting, use the money you would spend on Hot Toys to save for a deposit for a home or apartment loan and start paying your mortgage. Once you have budgeted for your repayments, if you have some money left over after costs of living then and ONLY then purchase Hot Toys and if so DEFINITELY not on credit. 👍🏽🙏🏽😎
Keco dropping the knowledge we all need to listen and learn from. Man, I was a going into this week wanting Artisan BW, Iron Spider, & Joker. Had all 3 in the cart and only pulled the trigger on Artisan Holland.

Ugggggh. That's the WORST! Car woes are painful
Very interesting !
As you sad Keco, most important is to have connections to characters we collect. My advice is to have a separate account on HT where you always put a certain reasonable amount of money after your payday. This is how I do it and it is very helpful.
Paying yourself each month essentially is a great idea!
I can’t believe people need to be told and reminded to not buy things you don’t really want/need for their collections.
It's the world we live in!
The Deadpool line looks great
You are absolutely right. We’re having to decide on figures without knowing what’s coming next so we end up paying NRDs for figures we’re going to eventually cancel. When NRDS were $20, it wasn’t so bad. Now it’s $40 - $50. It’s time to make harder decisions.
Yeah, $50 a clip stings
Don't let it scare you, but some people get real deep , REAL quick
What you forgot in your video is another threat of any collector: space. Most of us only have a few cases and if You’re lucky a room dedicated to collecting. What I always think of is whats coming next. Hot Toys won’t stop and you have to have a clear Vision about what you really want and what is just cool. With that being said even with being selective and only focussing on the prequels I am at 10+ POs right now and I expect more to come with next years 20th ROTS anniversary. I am Out for all of the exclusives. Even canceled Mando Obi WAN because deep in my heart I know that I only Need one Obi Wan
Great introspection!
Interesting thoughts Keco agree we all gotta slow down on po’s there’s too much stuff coming out & space is obviously always an issue n cost of getting figures is going up aswell. No easy times here haha
Not at all!
Really appreciate the kind words 👏🏻
Great content dude. Well said. People are being played. Stop putting money on everything and then losing it when you tap out. Stop it. Please. They limit quantities and drive the price up and you can make it worse with hype spending then folding.
They are getting theirs at the end of the day !
Those monthly payments can be giant traps lol
These are harsh words for some, but words that are needed to be heard every once in a while. It's easy to be influenced, especially in a hobby like this. Just yesterday, there was a reddit post 20 minutes after the Artisan Joker went up. Saying they regretted their purchase. The queue system is so predatory for people that are on the fence or just want to try their luck. It's a gambling addiction. Thanks for the words KeCo, I've got a budget and don't spend outside of my means, but I know a lot of collectors don't do that.
Exactly! Just trying to spread awareness
Love that journey for you!
The "buy now, pay later" mentality has suckered a lot of people into living outside their means. If things start getting out of control, I think one has to really go all in, and commit to paying the full invoice on day one if they know it's a must have. You will instantly start seeing collectors tighten their wallets.
For sure!
So many people want a new Crow!
Ill definitely be taking this advice to heart, ive only become interested in hot toys in the last few months and have put a pre order on the rotj vader with the Sebastian shaw sculpt for my first one and now im already torn between that and this new battle damaged one. Tricky hobby!
Tricks and treats!
Appreciate the honesty and transparency!
I preordered a majority of the summer showcase figures, however I canceled a few older preorders that I'm not too high on that were delayed so I could get that NRD back and sold a few to keep room open in the display. It is easy to go overboard, but balancing open display space and a budget is key.
"Perfectly balanced .. as all things should be" - Thanos
@KeCoCollects Exactly lol
can u make video on ur shelves how to customize the garage shelf
I followed the one from Posing with Peter's channel. That's the best 👍🏻
Of all of them, I think I'm most hyped for Widow. I want her done right.
This is exactly why I just get Star Wars figures from Hot Toys, and more specifically just dark side characters. I was able to preorder Grievous and Vader, but I know for a fact I would've got that artisan Joker if I was open to collecting more than just Star Wars
I too love Dark Side figures 👀
Thanks for watching! It will be a big topic today :)
I never really fall for those things when I start collecting I made a list of all the characters I needed called "Don't buy anything else " it even has space for weir star wars aliens and 2.0s but if it's not in the list it doesn't go in my collection 😁😁😁🙌
I love that discipline!
Too many to count!
I got anakin and scarlet 1 and 2 just because i got black spidey and batman😅
Sounds like a winner! 😏
This is a pretty smart strategy.
Okay I just finished watching it
1. Can we not see the writing on the pavement until the end? :(
I do have a Star Ace Zuul that is pretty good to be honest lol
@@KeCoCollects they spend so much time making monstrosities by accident that's something they can have confidence in lol
You’re one of my favorite figure channels in the space and I don’t even collect hot toys. I love that idea you had at the beginning. You mind if I use it for a video idea?
Go right ahead! I found it on TikTok lol
0:31 This looks fun! Okay here’s my ranking for these figures:
1. Scarlet Spider is a 4
2. Batman Forever is a 5
3. Darkside Anakin is a 2
4. Clone Wars Kenobi is a 3
5. Black Suit Spidey is a 1
Looks like my top two are Darkside Anakin and Black Suit Spidey 🔥🔥
Winner!🏆
1.Symbiote Spider
2.Dark Side WannyKin
3. General OB
4.Batman Forever
5.Scarlet Spider
Personally I would not have ordered any of these. Generally only buy 2 figures a year the other 6 I earn via working a couple conventions for a buddy that distributes Hot Toys 🧸
Fair! But you see what I mean ☺️
They add up quick!
This is why I stick to Batman. Heck, that alone can make you poor. I only had to worry about one artisan this week. I’d love to have more, but I have other obligations that come first. Gotta be smart. Great video!
Side note - I need a drape cape for my Dx09 ... that's all I need. I don't need the 2.0
@@KeCoCollects ironically I have one coming in from Jaxon. If I deem the 2.0 cape worthy. I’ll get you this Jaxon one. 😉
This has been a tough week, Fomo really gets the best of us I had to get Scorch for the Star Wars collection but sadly I have both hono exclusive Wolverine and joker pre ordered for a Star Wars/ Lord of the rings collection in the great words of Anakin,”
What have I done “😅
I heard that line from anakin through my phone lol
Stuff adds up quick!
Thanks! DC has been pretty quiet, which has been good for many wallets
I just canceled 2 preorders because of this video. I'm not blaming you, just telling you I made a good decision because of your wake up call! Too much 🔥 coming out lately
I consider that an absolute win
I'm all in on some. All out on others
Balanced approach
Awesome video KeCo. I felt this way today with the Artisan Joker. I had it in my cart and then passed. I realized I was giving into FOMO. While I like the Joker movie, I don’t love it and it’s too depressing for me to want to watch again so why do I want this figure?
It is depressing, but it's REAL, and to me, that was art. Totally different film for me , but I get it
Having 4 kids , car payments ,bills and mortgages sometimes I feel guilty of buying hot toys .. been collecting since 2010 . Used to have a house but we rent now ..
Life has a LOT of real commitments in it. All of that comes first
1. Darkside Ani
2. Spidey (Black Suit)
3. Obi Wan
4. Batman Forever
5. Scarlet Spidey
I ranked these perfectly
Scarlet Spider that low???
@KeCoCollects amazing figure for poseability. One of the best. I just never used the suit in the game personally 😅
i felt this hot toys have been releasing so many figures lately this why i originally got out of star wars while i could, i got the artisan black widow on po, ladypool, wolverine, and deadpool, out of all the new recent reveals
Such great pieces coming!
The Star Wars line is DEEP
Hold up, were those boxes at the beginning??
👁️👄👁️ - there are a few exclusive ones I've kept; the others were new lol
ehm, how did you get 5 artboxes??? didn't you throw them all away.
Thanks for watching, and for what it's worth, I did save some "exclusive" boxes ... the others were new
I haven't bought a hot toys figure since 2016. Wolverine deapool and joker I couldn't pass up...
Hot Toys always said you’d be back one day. 🤣
Those should be really good!
I cancelled my Prey Predator yesterday because i just realized i was not going to go and get all these predator and alien figures.
A hard, but at times necessary realization
Yee !
Yes!
I tell myself it’s not Pokémon because you can’t collect them all. There are times I still try to collect them all but I remind myself to let some figures go and stick to the plan.
Pikachu thanks you for your service!
@@KeCoCollects lol 😂 no problem Pikachu
Great video and perception with the game. It's exactly like that. I got black spiderman in 2 and ds anakin in 2.
But it's true, we're seeing good releases with bane and vader episode 6 incoming. But we're having artisan drops and potential of ds anakin. So do you get the new releases before they go up or drop later. Or miss out and hope that artisan limited you want is next. It's like betting and we know how that ends. Softly does it maybe.
No one knows!!
Rule number one do not buy it once if you can’t buy it twice !
Makes sense!
Out of them I would only like Batman Forever
He's solid !
I def think sideshow is behind some the silliness
I feel your video is for the newbies... no experienced collector is going to pre order that much...
Unless... he has a problem..😮
Perhaps!
In 2023 im starting my collection with omniman from soosootoys and homelander from toys work toys era and start 2024 with invincible from soosootoys and i want 2 or 3 figure more and 2025 inart the walking dead
Good stuff!
Man I had all artisan figures and only kept BW.
That's the best of the lot I think
Preach! Great video as always buddy. Just realised I wasn’t subscribed! Sorry.
I'll allow it 😄
@@KeCoCollects ha
You mention an annual average wage of USD 62,000. What about countries that the annual average is about USD 23,000? It is not like we get reduced prices for Hot Toys here. So obviosuly we have to be evern more careful with how we budget and what we buy.
For sure! Just used that as an example
First thing to eliminate for me is the silicone bodies. I just can’t see that long term working out well.
A lot of unknowns for that for sure!
Excellent response! Except the Bills tickets
Definitely depends on the figure I suppose and what you wanna do with it
I had a couple artisan figures in my cart this week BW.
I get it. Like you are doing is exactly what is needed to choose what's right for you
@@KeCoCollectsyes exactly
I don’t touch Marvel or Star Wars figures anymore. It’s too many of them. I collect obscure figures. Horror, old 80’s and early 90’s movies with nostalgia from my childhood. I will be getting anything Terminator, Predator or Aliens related moving forward. You gotta pick a lane and stay in it. Your wallet will thank you.
That terminator update would be nice!
Kiko, I thought you threw out all your 📦
Keco LIED to collectors for VIEWS (+ secret underground box network uncovered)
This lol.
Possibly lol
There are a few exclusive figures boxes I kept. The others are new figures.
Great point!
@@Pokemonisall anything in moderation is perfectly fine
@@Pokemonisall to his video point, I’m talking about people making payments for multiple figures to the point it’s worth a car note. Also, I don’t think it’s dumb, less debt you have the better but that’s totally up to you. Paying hundreds of dollars over the span of half a year on figures… yeah.
Your game is a bit tricky
Each collector is a world in itself
I don't much care for star wars, but I love DC....
Therefore, batman goes first...
but just for me, I'm aware 😊
Finally! Someone picked Batman

On the dot, babay!
