Range and recharge time anxiety appears to be the main concern here. But what if BEVs could eliminate both of those concerns? How about an BEV range of 600 miles and 7.5 minutes to fully charge? Would that then eliminate a need to keep burning fossil fuels? Add into this equation the falling price of BEVs, in particular the batteries. So now we have a BEV that cost the same or less than an ICE that can go 600 miles on a full charge, and then charge back to 100% in 7 and 1/2 minutes. Now lets get creative. How about an BEV that only goes 300 miles between charges, but is priced thousands less than its competing ICE and BEV vehicle due to a smaller and lower battery cost? Lastly, what if the batteries last enough cycles without degradation that battery replacement is never needed. And once the car goes to the scrap heap, the batteries are still useful for other applications and also recyclable? This isn't fantasy anymore, it is coming, and soon. Goodbye ICE, you were fun for awhile, but it is time to develop a serious and sober relationship with our environment, and personal finances.

If the engine can get 120 mile per gallons, require no oil change or maintenents, or tune up , then it may has a chance.
Destroying the EV industry... destroying the EV's OK battery cost has already dropped to $53/kWh, so it's complete with that.
