5:32 Patriot’s lift hill is amazing. It has Spongebob, the Hulk, the Universal Monsters… basically a giant “every major theme park chain could sue us, but we’re so low-rent they’ll never ever bother”
For CCI, if you're looking for more of a proper coaster that has theming, my guess is that Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain would be the pick. Highlights include the skeleton that speaks to you on the lift, Dynamite Willy at the mid-course brakes, and then the oncoming train near the end. Because you're going through the course relatively quickly, and you might be facing backwards, you might not see some of these elements if you ride, but they're definitely there, and you'll probably hear the animatronics speak as well as the train horn sound.
All the coasters at Busch Gardens Tampa are themed so well to their respective animals. Not just the environments, or queue lines etc, but the way the coasters actually move similar their animals' behaviors. I love browsing the aquariums in the Sea World queues, too!
I would argue for The Beast. Originally, the station was on a pond and fashioned as a water mill with a water feature cascading down. And the lore of a Beast lurking in the woods. Plus, the footprints showing the way to the ride.
Universal has a monopoly on the best Intamin themed coasters. I’d give it to Hagrid’s personally. But Velocicoaster is my favorite themed extreme coaster.
Guardians is absolutely the best themed coaster I've ever ridden. The very first time I rode it during passholder previews (and yes, I am a WDW passholder because I go so much), I was so blown away by the theming that it kind of left me overwhelmed (in a good way of course). It doesn't even feel like a roller coaster per se, it feels like you're actually zooming through space trying to save the galaxy and it's absolutely a top 3 coaster for me right now
Any of them still have a HUSS topspin? Berserker at Kings Dominion was the last remaining looping starship in the US. Those were aleays fun. Upside down on a viking ship ride? Gonna miss that ride.
I actually think Lost Mine Mountain Coaster (also in Pigeon Forge) is by far the best themed of them all. The queue takes you through the Mine where you board your vehicle. And there are so many scenes throughout the ride too!
Great video idea and awesome execution. Really cool to see these coasters that don't get discussed as much by enthusiasts since they aren't so thrilling/extreme. So many dimensions to enjoy in coasters, and theming is easy to forget but so fun!
Personally, I would’ve put expedition Everest for Vekoma. Guardians interior is definitely cool but Everest just completely immerses you in both exterior and interior sections. Great video though!
I would say polar coast is the best themed Hopkins coaster. They have the freezing poles before the ride, the ice cave themed station, and the goofy looking walrus lead car
I had a feeling Rocky Top would make the list. I got a night ride on it and it was spectacular. I was expecting a dinky coaster that meanders around a mountain, but got multiple scenes, a long ride, and dope ass lights throughout the forest
Hey. I am a young coaster enthusiast but I’m not afraid of anything. I want to make riding coasters a bit more fun and get to have a new experience every time. Also could you do a video of the most over hyped and under hyped coasters of recent times. Thank you for this amazing content, your the reason I got into the coaster enthusiast world.
You totally overlooked Iron Menace. A guy named McTavish vanished (for some reason) leaving behind a haunted steel mill (for some reason). (For some reason) a paranormal team is investigating the steel mill. It seems as though they also vanished based on the empty van in the queue line. And (for some reason) the steel workers forgot to make the ride smooth.
11:55 Id maybe argue that Maximus Blitz Bahn at Toverland is Wiegand's best themed coaster. Only argument is... Is it actually a coaster? Its not on RCDB but id argue it is.
Hagrid’s is probably the best themed coaster I’ve ever been on (granted I haven’t been to Europe which has some awesome looking theming on their rides), the theming turned a really good ride into a top 10 coaster for me
I’d say a possible honorable mention could be Dr Diabolical’s Cliffhanger at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. The queue line itself would lend itself well to this category. It tells a story with great animatronics and effects. The coaster itself even has onboard audio to further the experience/story.
Seeing Iowa's Adventureland was a jumpscare LOL, gone only a couple times but it holds a special spot in my head (even though the rides aren't much of anything to write home about...)
@@AirtimeThrills true, i will say that's one exception! LOL it's been a while since i've even been in the area to go there, perhaps in the future i'll revisit it
I kinda wished he added kumbak to the list because they only made one but it's really well themed (if you're not farmiliar. That ride is De Vliegende hollander or the flying dutchman in English. It sits right next to baron 1898 who made the list for b&m)
Good picks, I'd choose just some different ones For Giovanola I'd give it to Anaconda. The ride's placement and rockwork is well done, better than Goliath's theme For Maurer, I'd give it to Crush's Coaster. The station nicely themed to the port, the cute and cool first half with the two different themes depending on which side you sit, and the second half features a cool soundtrack, I think that's a more complete themed coaster For SBF, I'd give it to Car City, it features some cool city theme, with signals and different cars, got a little tunnel, but it could go either way between this and Mars
5:20 Ooh, Hopkins, I've actually ridden a better-themed Hopkins than that: Polar Coaster, the terrain kiddie coaster at Story Land! The lead car is shaped like a walrus and the station is this elaborate ice-cave set with an observation deck on top. For Arrow, I might pick Orlando Space Mountain over Matterhorn Bobsleds, but it's a tough call. If you work with Disney there are going to be some good ones. The best-themed Vekoma I've ridden is easily Expedition Everest but it's mostly because I haven't done their newer Disney rides.
I love themed coasters. But then I have to admit that as much as I love coasters I have a slight preference for dark rides. But theming on a coaster really helps it stand out and adds to the fun. I know I'm in the minority here but at BGT my second favorite coaster isn't one of their B&Ms and nor is it Cheetah Hunt. It's Cobra's Curse. I also rank Mystery Mine and Blazing Fury in my top 3 at DW and Verbolten is in my top 3 at BGW.
Intamin definitely had some strong contenders. I generally agree with Escape from Gringotts, but I probably would have chosen "Studio Tour" at Movie Park Germany. Simply due to it's slightly more thrilling ride experience.
Just wanted to drop my guesses here before watching; B&M - Nemesis at Alton Towers Gerstlauer - Mystery Mine at Dollywood Intamin - Velocicoaster at IoA Vekoma - GotG Cosmic Rewind
The Patriot theming is new… up until a few years ago, the lift hill featured bootlegged cartoon characters, including Disney. I imagine they got a not-so-fun call about that.
Let’s hypothetically say Disney and Universal don’t count. What would win for Intamin, Premier Rides and Vekoma? I’m betting Taron, Mr Freeze and FLY. On the other side of the spectrum, Crush’s Coaster at Disneyland Paris probably should have won for Maurer
I have to disagree for 2 Manufacturers: For Schwarzkopf I think the "Gebirgsbahn" that was at Phantasialand was better themed, the Park had built a massive fake mountain with some tunnels for the coaster. And the other is Vekoma. While Guradians and some other Disney coasters (I´m looking at you, Original version of Paris Space Mountain!) are the obvious choice, I think "Maya Adventure" at Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village in Taiwan has them beat. You might have overlooked it because it´s one of the many standard SLC´s, but it´s a highly themed one with really impressive Temple structures that it goes around and even into, a Waterfall acting as a near miss while rising up into the Sidewinder. Probably doesn´t ride any better than most other SLC´s, but boy does it at least look really impressive.
I'm still waiting for a park to license IP from SEGA... It is just criminal to me that there was only ever one Sonic the Hedgehog themed coaster in the world! 😢 ... to think, if only Paramount hadn't gotten out of the themepark business!
so here are other rides that could be considered most themed ( in my opnion) (i do not think your picks are bad they are amazing picks) B and M incrdeible hulk (islands of adventure) Arrow dynamics big thunder mountain, and space mountain (magic kingdom) CCI mystery mine (indiana beach) GCI mystic timbers (kings island) intamin superman the ride (SFNE) superman (warner brothers movie world) velcioaster (ioa) batman (warner brothers movie world spain) mack rides spiderman doc ocks revenge shwarcoh nightmare at crack axle caynon (sixflags great escape) vekoma rock n roller coaster (hollywood studios) tron (magic kingdom) expidition everest (animal kingdom)

For CCI, if you're looking for more of a proper coaster that has theming, my guess is that Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain would be the pick. @@AirtimeThrillsI mean, didn't you just imply in the video that you do count it?
Manta at SeaWorld Orlando has some awesome theming. The queue, the train & the setting are all fantastic.

**Insert any Six Flags coaster here**... Giving a ride a superhero name, isn't theming. Especially when its placed on top of a carpark

Personally, I would’ve put expedition Everest for Vekoma. Guardians interior is definitely cool but Everest just completely immerses you in both exterior and interior sections. Great video though!
Yeah but the backwards drop is through a naked mountain not a cave tunnel, totally breaks the theming.
Theres no wrong answers when it comes to Disney Vekomas
What about fly ?

I would add Chaos from Opryland! It was a great coaster with amazing theming. It closed in 1997. I’ve never seen anything else like it since 😎
