yes! thanks for sharing your settings! i usually keep mine in 60hz for the type of stuff i shoot. great note on the monochrome monitoring. i want to try that.
One of the most interesting GH7 videos on the net. My question: Can you show us what settings you would use to film dancers (athletes in motion) indoors or what settings you would use to stream live from the GH7.
Thanks for showing me some guides I can turn on once I get my Lumix Gh7😊. You are so correct, that red frame marker is the best when it comes to making sure sre that you are recording. Too many times in the past I hit the record button and 😢.
1:40 How well is that small SSD working with the GH7? I was under the impression a dummy battery was required for recording to an SSD, but this doesn't? Your other video mentioned you mostly shoot in prores raw, so would it likely work better you were shooting in Prores HQ?
You do not need an external power supply for an SSD, just in certain recording modes and frame rates. It's not good for long takes, but for pick up shots it has worked well for me (the SSD). and i prefer the BMD color space for my cameras and so i shoot in pro res raw and convert to CDNG so that i can put it in the BMD color space in the raw tab. it's different than just doing a color transform.
Great Video thanks! Do you also use Full Frame cameras, maybe even have experience with Sony FX3? I am trying to decide between a GH7 and a Sony FX3. The main advantage I see the Sony would have would be better low light performace / dual native ISO with 12800 night vision. If you dont have experience with Sony FX3 or Full Frame in general - given you have used faster lenses like f.e. the Sirui in this video - did you have been getting by generally and nicely in low light situations? As for me, I am testing out GH7 right now, bought it with the kit lens (12-60 3.5-5.6) and, of course, when it gets dark I push ISO right now to 1600 and above at night. I feel like the image is too grainy and falls apart above 3200 iso, which is of course to be expected.
this shutter angle thing only works if you work with nd filters all the time. if you dont your footage will be badly overexposed alwayx. also the shutter twice the speed of framerate is very unimportant and outdated to me. you can get away with much higher speeds , depending on what you shoot. 24 fps is an relict as well, i live in a pal country so 24 never was a thing here. how many cinema movies you made recently as you need 24?
If you are doing a very small, isolated, controlled room shoot, these settings are ok. If you need to shoot a lot of video, 'run and gun', these settings are worthless.

What are some of your go-to settings for your lumix camera?
Thank you for taking the time to do this video
Of course! I need to make a follow up for sure

Dude monochrome view is my new cheat code for anytime I’m pulling focus and am using focus peaking

It always happens when you nail the perfect shot! Hahaha

lol nah, an old friend worked at a movie theater and got to snag me a copy of the dark night trailer on film. Pretty dope
Dude is living in the bleach bypass world. It's a good look.
Thanks!
Arri log video coming soon?
It’s possible. I’ll be honest, I have it, but have only shot a test clip with it. But if there is enough interest, I’ll make it!
@@Ansonandco i was wondering if it will come out on the s5 ii

@@MonstroInLA that is a tough call. What do you shoot with now?
Usually using 60 hz outdoor and 50hz indoor (Europe ), never tried 24, need to do it)

There are film festivals that will not accept films that are not a true 24fps frequency. Not for everyone, but a preference for some
@@Ansonandco hahaha which kind of snob.festivals are those? I bet nothing relevant is running there. Even hollywood is slowly moving away from 24

@@sherbournesubwaymess interesting… in what way? (As run and gun is the only filming I do)
