Thanks for your tips, I used to do commercial Jigging in the Aleutians. Always used 400 lbs Jinkai. Never had a crimp fail. I now have a sailboat and am enjoying warmer weather and different fishing. Your videos are great. Just rigged the hand troll that you showed on a different episode. Thanks, I'm hooked. S/V Sapphire
Thanks for showing this video. You have succeeded in showing me a great technic. I've never used that type of leader or luwre before. Thanks to you and a few other fishing youtubers I have gained the urge to go fishing again. Its been over 20 years since I've been. I'll be starting from scratch from here.
Hello ...Great Videos. Thanks for sharing. You are My offshore fishing teacher. I love catch Ahi Tuna in the south pacific coast of México. Yellow fin tunas are Great. Thanks
Thanks so much for the great videos. Can you share how you set your trolling spread. Pattern , distance , size lures. Thanks again for all your videos and for sharing your knowledge
Maaaaaaan! U made my dayyyyy Damn now i can make my own double hook! Ans also save a lot of money ! Ur setup as very strong and powerful thks a lot! Bless u!
Great videos Nick!!! Very practical and comes from experience and a lot of time on the water. My last fishing trip was out of Waianae!!! Want to come back!!!
Awsome videos! Love the channel! Thank you for sharing for us people who are less fortunate to have the knowledge and wisdom passed down. Keep the content coming. Can you show us how to catch opelu? How to find them and how you rig them for trolling?
Really learned a lot. I was taught to use cable to make my trailer hooks, but might change to your technique. I always wonder if the cable is corroding inside the crimps and can become a weak spot. Mahalos. Awesome video.
Great videos! Keep them coming. How about an episode on trolling with diving planers or hard body lures (if you use them)? These are very educational. Thanks!
another great video. great info personally i use wire thru my trailing hooks. just 1 question do you replace or redo the mono trailing after each big fish thanks bro keep up the great productions
@@RAHfishing no its actually I believe its called squid skirts that come in 1 all the way up to 9 inches even more for like bigger game fish, actually I was wondering if yoy ever dress a small 5 or 7inch lure with a squid skirt.
Mahalo for the videos, I learn something new every time. Gonna start servicing my own reels as well! I know some guys stiffen the trailing hook, I was just tying a small piece of wax string to allow it to break loose on the strike. I understand why you want it flopping loose back there to swing and stuck on a strike. You ever had issues with the trail hook flipping over or out of place?
I haven't had issues of flopping over. I think the water resistance keeps its pretty good. Just got to make sure you put it in the water nice and not just trow it.
Reel Adventures Hawaii right on! Yeah I usually make sure hooks are good and just lay it in gently. I don’t know if you mentioned but what size hooks do you use?
Reel Adventures which one? I’ve seen you hook up your baits but not really what the outrigger set up it self. I’m using roller troller but wanna switch to bands
Good Job Bro!! I love your content. you have a new subscriber in me. Could you give out some pointers on how you target different species. For example what would you do different if you were targeting Mahi's vs Ono vs Ahi? Can you use the same lure for all 3? whats the difference component. thank you so much in advance for sharing your knowledge. CM
A lot of it comes down to fishing location. Running the 40-60 fathom ledge you are mostly gong to come across Kawakawa, small shibi, and ono for sure. Fishing more on the Haleiwa side and Kaneohe side you will see a mixture of all fish but a lot more Mahi vs other areas due to the fact of the amount of rubbish coming in on those sides of the island. Waianae is know to have a really good ahi run and nice water thats why a lot of people tend to fish that side of the island. 5-7" lures you can catch everything and anything, like they say elephants eat peanuts. 9-12' lures you can still catch a mixture of fish if they are hungry but you are starting to really target the fish at the top of the food chain, from ahi to marlin.
Wassup brutha, I really enjoy watching your videos and learning something new every time. I'm currently a beginner at deep sea fishing and the other day I went trolling at Waianae, but had no luck at all. I was wondering if you could give me some tips on the preferred trolling speed and if you chump the water or what not.
Let me know what else you guys would like to see. If its something I know I will gladly show.
Brauh what part Oahu you stay? Mahalos for the banger videos .
You ever run trailer hooks on live opelu? Just curious how you would rig that
1)How do you pick what head/lure for what conditions?
2)Do you ever run hard baits like Mauraders for Ono, and how do you rig them?
Please show me the swivel you use ,Mahalo
You are one of the masters I learn from? Thank you sensei. Stay safe.

Yes I will show some techniques. Just got to wait for around lateJuly time frame. Spawning now so they are extremely hard to catch.
Great video, MAHALO!!!
You da man. Just started trolling, yet to catch anything trolling but your videos help out a bunch!
Glad I could help. Just keep going and trying different things to see what works.
What side you fish on Kale?

I was wondering if you could help me out at catching more ahi
Wish I could help. But I haven't caught any yet this year either!

Only replace if it looks like it has some chaffing. Thanks
Great info.
Perfect!
Thats awesome, I tried making small squid lures but the look terrible, could I apply that to my small squid lures?
Not sure what your mean by squid lure. Like a mold craft ika?

Hi bro can you please tell me is this method best for kingfish and wahoo fishing
Would definitely work for wahoo. We don’t have kingfish over here so I’m not sure. 🤙
Thank you that was very helpful 🤙🤙
I am definitely going to use this technique thank you for sharing. Ono is the target fish to land on my boat right now. Missed 3 so far 🤙
Would Love to see your outrigger setup
Its in one of the trolling videos. 🤙

HI, Great video. Could you tell me what lures you are using? Thanks!
Very helpful..thank you
Thanks
Mahalo that helped me out ALOHA
Glad I could help. Thanks
So the hooks don't need to be seperated from the head. When trolling, wouldn't the hooks get pulled way up to the head?
No they stop right on the back of the head 🤙
How long do you usually set your lines out when you troll?
Beautiful!! But where you get the lure though ?
I made it. MorrisLures.com
Reel Adventures Hawaii thanks ah! All sold out though lol ! But still gonna wait so curious how they do in California
Just started the website 2 weeks ago. Trying to get new colors and shapes out weekly. This week we will be stocking up on Wednesday. 🤙

You make any stuff for uku, papio, mahi?

Typically you want to run about 7.5-8 knots. But if its glass I will go a little faster like 8.5-9 knots just to make the lures work a little more. 🤙
Thanks I appreciate your manao
Thanks 🤙
Thanks Bro !! 🤙🏽
You still rig your lures this way nick??
I use wire sometimes.
Nice appreciate da video
Thanks
How many wahoo have u caught with this setup?
All the wahoo I catch are on this setup 🤙
What is it with eye or no eyes on skirt. What's the difference
Good job , ty
No problem 🤙
Isn’t illegal to use barbed hooks in Hawaii as it is in California. I see you use barbed hooks, how are you able to do so. Thanks
No rules against barbed hooks
you could have made the first double loop with "one" crimp" !!
Thanks 🤙
Can u show me how to tie a Aku hook plz
For sure. I will put it in the tackle tip list.
exelente
gracias por compartir.
Make a gaff for under $20 please. It doesn't seem possible.
I will work on it this week. Thanks

What size hooks?
11/0 and a 10/0 or you can do 2 - 10/0
This rig will work but is not igfa legal. If a record fish is caught on it, it will be disqualified and will not count as a record
