Jet Turbine Engine Testing

- Once the aircraft is certified and in operation with the airlines, engines are frequently inspected once the engines have been installed on the wing. At the conclusion of these inspections or after engine replacement, the engines are tested on the wing at various power levels.
Engine tests on-wing are conducted for various reasons and include tests such as:
- Power assurance check, to verify that the engine is capable of producing the required thrust;
- Vibration and balance checks to check and, if necessary, balance the engine rotors;
- Oil and fuel system checks;
- Leakage checks to verify that all systems are free of leakage.
The engine test on-wing are conducted in the open field or in the vicinity of the hangar.
All my taxes for the next 10 years just went into that one test lol
I spent 4 1/2 years working Test Cell. 3 1/2 years working F-16's at Luke AFB, AZ and a year working F-15's at Naval Air Station, Keflavik, Iceland. What a great job!
now that's a powerful hairdryer 🙂
Good that you switched the Music off so we could listen to the engine.
It’s a General Electric F110-GE-100 engine indeed from an F-16.A really powerful engine and not complicated for the engineer in the maintenance of it.

I always wondered what made the earth spin

Next generation fighters are planned to have a second bypass flow(a bypass of the bypass😆) as shown at
Wow Exhaust gases coming with High pressure & temperature via nozzle from the jet engine creating thrust force 👌
Probably from a F 16 It amazes me how man made something as complex as this engine making a unique sounds from metal air wind and fual creating high temperatures of couple of thousands degrees
these are some good bolts!
I need this for my school project.
That's the biggest gas soldering iron I've ever seen!
I can hear two frequencies clearly the first one is close to 7900 He and the second is above 10000hz that is the ratio is so high
Wow, from a dead stop to spool up was really, really quick - very impressive!
So basically they were trying to make the earth rotate faster.
It’s been a minute, I worked test cell on the PW F100’s and the GE F110’s. Boy does this video bring back great memories
I just love the distortion. I cannot stop listening to it.
Same sound as the jet in sanandreas 😋
