Best & Worst Jelly Resins! Reviewing Rainbow Jellies, Puni Gel and Jelli Rez Craft Kits

In this video I tried out three different "jelly" textured resins which can be used to make squishy toys or jewellery. Puni Gel is already familiar to me based on a video from several years ago and it seems like the concept has been picked up by various western toy companies as well. The most hyped product is Rainbow Jellies which I've seen a lot on TikTok and UA-cam. Here's a summary of each kit:
RAINBOW JELLIES
- Cures in 45mins
- Perfect squishiness without being sticky
- Fun to unpack and easy to use
- Gel isn't very glittery and you can't customise colours
- Mess free mixing, squishy gel packs are cleverly sealed so you never come in contact with the liquid
JELLI REZ
- Cures in 15mins
- Not very squishy, more like a rubber texture
- Actual curing time was much faster, difficult to make & combine more colours
- Kit doesn't supply a lot of resin but does give you lots of extras (glitter, stickers etc)
- Slightly messy to mix but very good value for money
PUNI GEL
- Cures in 24hours
- Identical texture to Jellirez, more rubbery than squishy
- Doesn't give you a lot of resin and colours are pre-mixed
- Very high quality moulds and accessories
- Harder to mix, your hands will hurt
FINAL NOTES
All three of these gels are silicone based so they have no smell at all which was very pleasant. They are also fairly safe considering they're marketed as toys so you don't need special safety equipment. To clean up, it's actually easiest to just wait for the resin to set and then peel it off instead of trying to wipe up any liquid.

The Jelly Rez directions are really deceiving! It actually says ready in 15 minutes, which means from when you start to when it is fully cured and done is 15 minutes. This means you really only have 2 or so minutes of "working" time which is the time when it's pourable, because the other 13 minutes the resin needs to fully cure. Obviously you discovered this, but I think it's helpful to point out you did nothing wrong- the directions are just garbage.
Yep I thought that as well! 15mins is literally the time they take to completely harden, not the time you have to mix and pour. I suspect there was a lot of pressure to create a craft kit that delivered instant results. I feel when marketing to kids, any product that involves waiting times isn't as popular since they are naturally impatient. It's.a shame because there is so much potential and the gel mixes really nicely...but you don't have time to combine more than 2 colours before they start to cure

@@maqaroon for me the Jelly Rez was a completely different result! It did still cure pretty fast but we had about 5-8 minutes to pour it. I guess the results are different depending where you are maybe. 👍🏽😀

Me and my kids love JelliRez, but the rapid mixing time threw us the first time! For multiple colours we spit the mixing between us, so we can mix 3 colours at once, but if you're alone it would be practically impossible to mix more than maybe 2 if you rush! Still, we love the product and it works well for us as a family activity 🙂
Oh good point with the simultaneous mixing! I tried working as fast as I could and only managed 2 colours. It's a shame because the gel & glitter looks really nice and it would be amazing to make pieces with rainbow colours.

I love the fruits you made with the Puni gel kit. they look like candied fruits almost. Also, the youtuber Minori used the Rainbow Jellies kit to make mini among us squishies which kind of resemble mochi squishies. i think it would be interesting if you used the gel from those kits to make your own designs!

In my opinion, the Puni Gel one takes longer to cure since once you cut open the tiny baggies, if it were to cure in less time it would get solid too quickly, meaning you wouldnt be able to use it as much. Unlike the other ones, the Rainbow Jellies one has specific uses and the Jelli Rez one comes in large bottles with caps.
Jelli Rez is amazing and dries extremely fast. The Rainbow Jellies are okay if you do it fast enough. When I followed the directions on how long to mix it, the jelly dried within the pouch before I could get it into the molds. It's also really difficult to know when you have bubbles so there were quite a few with bubbles inside. We made 12 and about half of them actually worked well.

I got the rainbow jelliez kit for christmas and I was shocked about how clean and easy and well it worked! Well it was a tinier kit that had 2 but it was awesome!

I had a character making kit kind of like Rainbow Jellies, it was called Smooshins. I got it like 2 years ago, when I was 9, and I loved the package! Your supposed to make a squishy character by popping a gel pouch, squeezing it into the mold and waiting 24 hours for it to set. My first one had a large hole in the back, because there was too little gel. My mom helped with the second one, since we wanted to get all the gel into the mold. Same thing happened. I watched some reviews on the kit, and the same thing happened to everyone I watched (including CookieSwirlC, TheToyReviewer, etc.) Can you review this kit? It’s pretty fun to do, but annoying for the results. Maybe you have a solution to this? :D

Finally someone mentioned it. I was actually surprised by the Rainbow Jellies because I expected them to end as bad as those (I didn't have it but I remember it being difficult and the very strict instructions)

Do you think jelly rez would be good for as a phone case? Or to make molds to put onto your phone case??? Because of its texture I was just thinking on the thicker scale it might be more protective as a jelly case but because of its drying stage is very quick would it still be possible and would it really be strong enough to hold the shock if you dropped your phone??
