  • If you know audiophile headphones, you already know Beyerdynamic, but they've done particularly well with the Beyerdynamic Amiron Wireless Headphones. Clean, crisp sound, lots of soundstage and depth, and easily comfortable enough to wear for hours in the studio!
    Tech expert Dave Taylor of www.AskDaveTay... checks out the Beyerdynamic Amiron Wireless Headphones and finds them a great addition to anyone's audio gear lineup...

    Awesome review Dave. One common thing I've ready from some Amazon reviews is that these don't get particularly loud when while using bluetooth. In your experience with these cans, did you find that the Amiron's were loud enough when just paired with a phone or computer?

    • @AskDaveTaylor
      @AskDaveTaylor  5 років тому

      Thanks. And, well, one person's really loud is another person's middle-of-the-road. I audition lots of headphones and turn 'em up pretty high, but not ear-splitting volume. And the Amiron worked fine and had a full, rich listening experience with more modest devices like a tablet or computer. My phone doesn't have an earphone jack so I don't usually use it for testing :-)

    When connected via USB-C, does it also act as a USB DAC headphone?

    Would these be a significant upgrade in the sound quality department from the B&W P7 wireless, that I currently have, would be using them majority in wireless mode, using my pixel 2 xl as the source

    How are these compared to other beyerdynamic headphones? The dt 1770 is also in a similar price range. How are these compared to those? Or the dt 1990? They are surely an upgrade when coming from the free headphones they ship with your phone... But are these worth buying when you already own a lot of expensive headphones, like the second gen t1, t5p dt 1770?

    • @AskDaveTaylor

      Well, it's hard to say because at some level having a pair of really good headphones means you've pretty much licked the problem anyway. However, I neglected to mention in my review that these work with the MIY app which means you can create a custom audio profile based on your actual hearing characteristics, which means that they're quite literally tuned for your own hearing, left and right sides. For some people that might not matter, but for plenty of others that's going to bring out details in the music that you never knew was there...

      You think I wouldn't test them myself if I had the chance? What do these cost again? $699? The stores in my place don't let you test these kind of headphones, and I don't want to spend 700 bucks on a headphone. The only option I have would be to order them on amazon and then return them... but I think this is ethically wrong and I am the kind of person who tends to keep these kinds of items after testing them.

      What kind of an question is that? What could I possibly do with these headphones? Use them to make coffee? I intend to listen to music at home with these, if I decide to buy them. That said I currently don't need these, I already have the t1 and some other beyer headphones that do the job well enough. Also I dislike the idea of bypassing my dac/amp combo.

    Can i use aptx HD and LL at the Same Time ?

    • @AskDaveTaylor
      @AskDaveTaylor  4 роки тому

      Those aren't really mutually exclusive; the low latency should apply to all the codecs so if you're connected with a device that uses aptX HD, it should be low latency.

    Hi, thanks for this review. I’d like to ask, should it be convenient for you, to please review the Beyerdynamic lagoon ANC headphones. I’m looking for wireless headphones from beyerdynamic as I’m in love with the dt 770, but the wire is so heavy on the commute to work. Thank you

    When you plug in the aux cable does it stop using the battery

    • @AskDaveTaylor
      @AskDaveTaylor  6 років тому

      Why would it do that? The AUX doesn't carry electricity.

      @@roflomaozedong poor base, bad for shooters, bad for gta, bad for fifa, it doesn’t sound full and rich. Also it’s not fitting perfectly over the head which makes the base even poorer, my old Sony platinum headset and beats headphones sound better on ps4. IMO Base is very important for gaming, explosions etc has to sound good. Actually right now I bought AirPods Max for 600€ man, they are the best for ps5. I returned Amiron right the next day… one of the worst headsets ever…

      @@AskDaveTaylor wow didn't expect you to reply. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this headphone! My take on it though is quite different from yours and its tunning REALLY bugs me a lot. The roll-off bass, bumped mids and rollercoaster highs just obliterate my ears. I personally will rate it somewhere high around C, especially considering the price. I used rme adi-2 pro to explore the sound signatures and somehow settled on Harman target with a slight pump at 1.2k and dip at 2k.

      Interesting and thanks for switching languages (which helps me!) I think this illustrates something that all of us audio fans know: listening is subjective.
