Omg!!!! This is my hometown! Thank you for the beautiful coverage of my hometown. Very nice!!! Every weekend, the brewery is open for tours & picnicking on the brewery grounds! You'll all enjoy it!!! Make sure you check out the barbeque spot on the corner across from Snowflake Donuts. Have fun & enjoy ❤

@@dk-ln6om I mean, it was cool but, the downfall is there's no opportunity in the field I work in so, I had to come to San Antonio. If I would have stayed in Shiner, after graduation, I'd probably still be doing the same crap. San Antonio has given me many employment opportunities. I'm very thankful I am from a place that is relaxing but, to live, there's too much not available that I would have to drive out of town for.

Not only Shiner Beer is produced in this town, but due to the firm will to NOT alter the original method and ingredients for brewing their beer, many consumers appreciate that fact and have patronized both pilsener and dark products.

I am a 78 year old Texan from Central Texas. My dad took me to Shiner when I was 15. I loved Shiner and it was also less expensive than Lone Star. I sipped Shiner in Smithville for 10 cents a mug. The bock was only available at certain times of the year. If you have a change go by the brewery. They are very nice, hospitable folks. Good post thank you I am a new subscriber.

Used to visit a place in the late 90s that sold Shiner Bock on tap. The owner made sure it was the perfect temperature and just always seemed so fresh. Would go on Fridays after work and always looked forward to a perfect, delicious Shiner Bock and the most amazing chicken tenders I’ve ever had anywhere.
I’ve been a fan of Shiner Bock ever since. Also, Saltgrass Steakhouse serves a very nice Shiner Beer batter bread. Goes great with their garlic butter topped steaks. 😋

It's so weird that you are visiting Shiner. I was looking at Shiner's beer offerings yesterday. They have quite a line up, beyond the bock. Your description of its flavor I s very accurate. It is not a heavy beer. They produce their original 1909 recipe, and some flavored beers (lime and sea salt, etc.). I always thought that they were up near Dallas. I was shocked to find that it is closer to Houston. This is way cool. Cyril and Methodius were Greek Orthodox monks (and brothers) who went on a mission to Bulgaria in the Middle Ages and developed the Slavic writing system, which is called Cyrillic.

Love your videos. Has anyone else noticed a weird distortion affect whenever there is movement like panning or when Joe's driving? It started when he switched cameras. I've watched both on my phone and tv to make sure it wasn't one or the other that was the problem, but it's visible on both.

I see that Shiner Bar is closed again , oh man , most fun I have ever had in my life was in Shiner Bar , now that was a real saloon . Even after truly abusing the ZZ Top CD in the juke box , it got removed , even after many nights of showing out in top form . Everyone was welcome in Shiner Bar , in fact , that one got lit and humiliated themselves the night before , that wasn’t humiliation unless you did not return the next night to own it and have a good laugh at one’s self . Much LOVE to all of My best of Friends in Shiner Texas y’all are The Best of The Best of People , Luv You ALL!

  • @LJones69

I’m hoping that the slight blurriness can easily be fixed with a setting on the camera. It’s definitely something that started happening when they went to a different camera. I’m a little surprised it wasn’t noticed during the editing. But if I know Joe, he will take care of it or figure it out. Their videos are always amazing and well shot. Unfortunately the slight amount of blurring when the camera is panning really kind of distracts from the overall quality.

    • @PXAbstraction

Seems like back in the late 70’s Shiner Premium was the only beer we could find, and that was in a very limited distribution area. The Bock came out once a year or so and rumor was it was when they pumped the stuff out of the bottoms of the tanks. Never thought it was true but was a good story. Also, when Shiner Bock really made it big, I believe they had a distribution deal with Corona. Several places sold it as an import and charged more for it because of that.

There are a lot of "painted churches" in Texas.
People who came to Texas in the 1800's had few resources locally to adorn the churches they built. So they "painted" the interiors to replicate the ornamentation of their European churches.
Painted churches exist all around South, Central and East Texas. Look them up in Texas history.

No personal income tax, and property tax can be mitigated by the homestead exemption and other provisions.
Changes at the legislature this year reduced some property tax charges by about 45% for 2023 (due for payment in 2024).
And that look at the homes in Shiner -- that's called Pride of Ownership.

While you guys are there, you can explore Alamogordo, NM and the local area, plus play around in the casino at Inn of the Mountain Gods in Ruidoso, NM. Y'all need to do some more exploring in NM. Well when I moved onto my sailboat in Virginia I wasn’t able to find Shiner Boch in the stores there so I had to buy Yuelging brewed it Pottstown PA the oldest brewery in America which brews a lighter shade of beer and actually has taste I don’t drink beer with no taste I’d rather drink water. Now days it seems every town has a local brewery Athens, Tyler, just to name a few. So getting brewers yeast is relatively easy. I don’t brew beer I mix sour mash and distill Apple Pie corn alcohol and other flavors.

Nice to see a small town with pride. Your many videos of urban decay and rural poverty make those of us from other countries worry for the state of yours.

Shiner is my usual favorite, I also like a lot of other amber beers like Fat tire or Alaskan from the Northwest. But, my go to and safest pick will always be Shiner Bock.

Interesting. I don't drink beer but I used to work in a liquor store and sold some Shiner bock. Never thought much about where it came from.

Not a drinker myself, but I do enjoy the tours. I am a 4th Gen Texan looking to relocate in a few years and Shiner is at the top of my list. Man, I gotta get out of the Houston are…..fast!🥴

Shiner Bock is a VERY popular beer, definitely NOT on it's last legs.
