I like how in Darkest Dungeon 2 we find out that the jester actually does have a past connected with a certain person who looked pretty similar and also played music.
You know they kinda brought back the whole "man turns into fishfolk" thing with the fisherfolk in the shroud. Basically, sturggling fisherman start worshipping the ocean, letting it remake them in it's image.
Great content as always. I like to believe that The Warrens also have a connection to this place. Since The Cove was a civilization before it only makes sense it would have infrastructure. So it would have aquaducts moving away from their clean water where they live, the ancestor did mention that the sewers were ancient and pre-dated many early settlers.
Funny personal story with a squiffy ghast Turns 1-3: ghast uses maddening shanty on the jester, and he misses Turn 4: he finally hit only to be put down with a finale
my theory is the fishmen do not worship the Heart, but rather similer to the Sleeper there god is a rival one(if these things arrive via commit it would make sense more would fall into the ocean then on land) seeking to prevent the hearts awakening, which is why they only worked with him in exchange for a sacrifice at first, hardly the reaction one would expect them to give towards the goal of freeing there god and why they refused to help him further once they realized what he was doing, perhaps they are related to an ancient civilization that fought it long ago, we are all familiar with the story of an ancient advanced socierty falling into the ocean after all
I remember the best fight I ever had with the drowned crew it was the third time I belive I had the base crew Vestal, doc, highwayman and crusader and during the fight my crusader hit the max stress and like a BOSS he got Vigorous and everytime the Anchorman tryed to drown him BOOM he free him self and the rest of the fight was the crew trying to sfuffle the order so they can try and drown anouther hero and failing
The crew is obnoxious, the siren is a fucking joke. Every time i fight the siren i get a flagellant, bounty hunter, occultist and an arbalest (or any backline fighter with mark synergy, DOES NOT MATTER) Before the fight i use a lot of buffs on the bounty hunter (this is how we do it, planned takedown and dark strength) Then the 40 DMG crits roll in as the cursed flagellant has no fucking clue what to do but use reclaim to help the siren the best he can. TL;DR boosted bounty hunter hits like a truck
Awesome sauce! I look forward to which might be next. Perhaps the Warrens, the Courtyard, the Farmstead or the minibosses (shambler, collector, The Thing, the snakes, shrieker, etc.) probably the Darkest Dungeon itself is last
The snakes are very simple to understand: Shieldbreaker is simply relieving her traumatic experiences back when she was captured for The Vizier, but due to the influence of the thing below the manor the fear deep within the Shieldbreaker's mind manifests into a physical form of the snakes.
it would be cool if this lore was more reflected in game, like a crimson curse type mechanic for heroes but like the disease that turns them in to fishfolk

My friend your idea that the fiddler and the jester know each other might be more right than wrong in the second darkest dungeon when exploring the past of the jester it is saying that he got his aspirations for fame of fortune by a man fiddling away in a graveyard the similarities might be just superficial but there’s still possible

Thank you, and excellent analysis. The aquaducts could also have allowed them to travel further inward.
Okay, after reading 10:27, I am CONVINCED that the Squiffy Ghast is the very same fiddler that our old pal Sarmenti encountered long ago.
