Great review! I have some questions for you, as I’m looking to make an upgrade from my walkers slim headset for strictly airsoft. I saw your review for the Z-tac brand as well as this. How do you stack the two in comparison? Also, you mentioned tac-sky. I’m looking for a headset that has active hearing since my current headset is only passive, and cuts out all audio when I am using comms. Do these headsets have pretty good sound amplification when turned up? Thank you for the videos!
Thank you, and I'm glad you got something out of the review. So, to answer your questions. None of the Airsoft headsets have amazing active "hearing protection," but there does seem to be a hierarchy in these... better to worse. So far, it is Tac-Sky, Hearangel, then Z-tac. Now I will admit they are all probably coming off the same factory line sonI suspect it has something to do with QC. One brand will have higher QC tolerances and will only sell headsets if they meet x,y, and z requirement. I like my hear angel headset almost as much as my Tac-Sky, and both have good audio clarity and transmit and receive well. I feel like my Tac-Sky though have a cleaner active "hearing protection" function out of the three. I have a 4th style of headset that I received with my AMP arms, and it is the worst of them all with the active "hearing protection". That headset is also not nearly as adjustable with the volume of the protection. I think if you went Tac-Sky you would be really pleased with your purchase and you honestly would probably be pretty happy with hearangels as well.
Probably the Howard Leight ear pro, they will worm for the range and you can helmet mount them. They aren't comms thoug, if you want comms and good active hearing protection, you will need to pay for it. Either find some Comtacs or Sordins second hand or save up and get them new.
Comtac IIs use triple A batteries and Comtac IIs use AA batteries. That is one of the bigger changes between the two versions. other than that it in the real headsets it's minor changes besides the batteries.
the wife comment was great, thanks for the review
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it, and I appreciate you checking out the review and the channel.

@@Muddy_ReviewsThank you for the quick reply! Do you also know if these headsets are Low Impedance or High Impedance? Thank you!
@Stongez these should all be High Impedence headsets they are civilian wired. They require a converter to use military PTTs which are low impedance.
What would you recommend for budget friendly actual hear protection, that you could mount on a helmet?

@@Muddy_Reviews roger that. Thank you.
absolutely, glad to help.
What's the difference between 2 and 3 COMTA?
