  • Today we ride the very popular, redesigned Low Rider S. This bike had a lot of fanfare about being a bit of a 'riders bike'. A corner capable Harley? Yes indeed, I found it to be confidence inspiring on the side of the tire and pretty predictable also. The brake had good power and modulation, if a little light on the initial bite. The chassis turns in somewhat lightly for its weight and it maintains your lines with minimal effort. The power is immediate and everywhere. Torque all over the place from the 117ci twin. I found the bike very comfortable, but that comfy body position did limit my ability to weight the inside peg. But thats not to say you cannot go fast through corners on it. Actually I feel like I could likely rail this thing pretty hard with some time to get familiar. Overall I was pretty impressed with this 'cruiser' on the mountain. It strikes a nice balance between comfort and capability. I can see why this bike has gotten the attention it has. While it's not my style of body position, I still enjoyed riding it and throwing it around. Thanks to @socal_fxlrs_117 for the saddle time!

Thank you that’s exactly what I needed. A sporty rider view on this bike. I want more opinions of this kind. I want a Harley that can go a little faster.

Cool, Im glad you found this useful.👍Yea, for Harleys that can corner, Id guess this is the one to go for. Ive ridden these LRs a few times now and they do very well in the corners for a cruiser. I suspect some tallers shocks and fork extensions would make these hilarious fun in the twisties. The 'lifted' version would be surprisingly capable Id wager

@@charliebaker3389 I haven't ridden the Fat Bob yet. But I don't think it i would be on par with the LR on a road like this. Maybe I am mistaken and need to ride one?

@@SanDiegoRider 114 vs 117 LR probably better but a few dollars more. No harm in trying the FB.

@@charliebaker3389 Right, and Google says they are about the same weight. I'm no Harley guy, but it looks like the Fat Bob also has a more laid back, FWD controls ergonomic design (looking at pics anyways..). So the LR would allow a bit more weighting of the pegs and a more natural feeling lean into corners, IMO. And for these type roads, Im guessing that would make a noticeable difference.
