- I show you how to fix a Samsung TV that has a black screen and the screen won't turn on it just stays black or blank.
If you tried all 3 steps at least 5 times then about 75% of you should have a working screen. I hope this helps.

I did it probably 12-15 times. Finally could see a message to unplug my HDMI from ROKU and tv. Unplug ROKU power cord. Unplug the tv. I held in the button for 60 seconds then reconnected everything. It came on with a picture, but the right side was pixelating. I just let it run. It took about 30 seconds for the entire screen to look normal. Beautiful, clear picture. You saved me from buying another TV. This TV is also in the weather on our patio. Been there about 7 years.
I get power supply issues on my Vizio tv 2022
Thanks, this worked for me earlier but still same black screen error. But appreciate your comment..
Thank you so much! We were ready to go to Costco and buy a new TV. After calling ATT they couldn’t resolve the problem they told us to contact Samsung. I thought I would just try You Tube and your first suggestion worked immediately for us. Thank you so much for this video. You saved us!
Why the hell would yall even call att for 🤣🤣🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
I tought this was dumb and was sure my monitor was a goner. But it actually worked. Thank you! Electronics are weird...
Yep this worked! We almost gave up on our 4 year old 35" Samsung. TIP: We didn't think it was going to work because the screen remained black on the TV for almost 10 minutes then it started to "reboot" (I think that's what it was doing?) all on its own. We had to flip the circuit breaker off as we don't have access to the power plug since it is hung above our fireplace. Thank you SO MUCH!
So you kept the TV on when it had a black screen, and it suddenly started working again?
@@FrankBell Yes the TV had a black screen and remained black after DISCONNECTING power source and HOLDING button for one minute, then connecting power back on. Nothing happened for about 10 minutes after that. Then the screen came back on. I believe it was rebooting itself during this time.
@@MrTargetone Gotcha! I guess I'll try again and wait... Thanks!
@@FrankBelldid it work ?
@@TheNiland43 sadly, no
Thanks & it's working again, just followed your second step, pull out the plug & pressed the button for above 1min, then plug it again & switch on the remote power on and wow.... it's working. Many many thanks.
What if its black screen but with a light flickering and turns off and on on its own?
This^^^ help us pls
This might be a late reply but I suggest trying to factory reset it by unplugging the tv, then holding teh power button down for 30 seconds. Hope that helps, sorry if it doesn't
@@charissachartaliachiaravit1256 i did try all that but nothing.....but thank you 🙃🙂
@@andrewleighton4385 I been having the same issue. I did the factory reset for like a hour changed outlets etc and right before I gave up it worked. I left my tv on and decided not to turn it off but my brother turned it off earlier so I’m right back at square on. I’d just keep tryin for as much as you can handle
Mine just started this today. Got home from work and a white light is flashing on the corner of the screen and TV wont turn on at all. Did you fix yours?
Worked like magic! Thanks a mill was already stressing out about having to replace my 4 year old Phillips 55" TV. Unplugging did not work in the first instance until I pressed and held the power button!
This is a major flaw with Samsung. Never buying one of these again.
Thank you so much. We are back in business with our Samsung tv. We appreciate your help. We are set to watch the opening ceremonies of the Olympics.
Just pushed the button for 60 minutes. Now it works. Thank you!
Which button was that?
Which button was that ?
@@when.shubhi.draws. There was a button on the bottom right (facing the back)Button is half inch wide.
Took me a minute to find the super small power button but I did and step 2 worked for me! Thank you!
Hey I did all and still not working fid you do anything else to it ?
All I did was first the power but that didn’t work- so I unplugged it again and did the trick with the power button - the power button was really hard to find but it was right under the Samsung word on the right underneath there was a little round button I had to feel around for and I held that down for about 1.5 minutes and the plugged the tv back on and that’s when it worked
@@sassystarrI'll try again but once I do it and plug up the TV it acts like it's going to turn on just to go black like it lights up the screen and goes off
@@Happy-zj1nc that’s what was happening to me at first - according to the instructions sometimes it takes a few tries - did you find that little power button? You have to hold it down constant for at least a minute while the tv is unplugged - don’t let it go until after a minute then plug the tv back
@@sassystarrI will try, going through this now
Thanks a lot buddy, worked! Saved me a 48 hours wait on Samsung response.
lol
I tried slightly different approach. I plugged in and switched on the TV, then on the TV(not remote) I held power on button for a minute and it worked on second attempt like a miracle. Thank you for the suggestion 🎉
Just unplugging mine worked! Thank you!
I used to have this issue for a few time. Previously it will recover automatically after two weeks. This time, this video solves it in one day.
Can’t believe these tricks work. But it is true. Thanks!
And now isn’t working I guess 😅
Thanks man it worked for my tv and it wasn't a samsung option 3 ❤
Here's the real fix. Software update 2501 was messed up. That's why your screen went black. To fix permanently, once you get it powered up, immediately navigate to 'settings' then 'support' and click on 'software update'. This will download new software -- current ver is 2505. Also, I'd unselect 'autoupdate' to avoid future issues. This worked for me. Give me a thumbs up if it works for you too!
This worked, thank you so much!
Appreciate you brother. The unplugging and pressing the POWER button for 60 seconds worked for my gaming monitor. You saved me hundreds of dollars!
My Q7 is blinking back and forth between an all blue and all black screen. It does it whether I'm trying to turn it on or not. No sound or anything else. Any thoughts?
Any fix
Omg this works like magic on my TV,❤ thank you so much for sharing this. Planning to sell my TV but they want to buy it for a very cheap price. Good thing I've searched on how to fix it. Thanks so much
Dude thank you!!! I thought my tv was about to be garbage actually but the light was on giving me hope, I had tried unplugging with no luck but then the unplug with the button press worked like a charm!!!
Worked after unplugging, waiting and then plugged back in. Didn’t have to push in the button. Thank you!
Thank you very much for this information. In fact, I spent two days searching for a solution to this problem until I watched the video, and it was a great surprise to me. it's done
stupid TV
Yep , it worked ! 😃 Thank you very much for your information 😊
Thanks man. Unplugging it and holding the button did the trick.
It worked for me. Thank you ❤❤😊😊😊 i was about to buy another tv this weekend 😅
Didn't work paid over $2,000 for this TV 4 years ago this shouldn't be happening.
Me too and I am royally pissed. Was fine and then nothing. Mine is 3 years old crap product⁰
Don't feel too bad, mines on 4 months old, after the Vizio I had did the same exact thing.
Same. In thinking Samsung sucks I have had nothing but problems and the sound goes out all the time randomly and now black screen. It's b.s.
@@hxcliferuinerI have a Vizio too it's slow and takes forever to turn on. Now it doesn't recognize any hdmi ports it's another trash item. They make things cheap now
1 month old 5 thousand 8k tv what I'm going threw
Thank you. Unplugging and holding power button down worked
This means your motherboard going bad.
What will flipping your breaker accomplish if unplugging the unit doesn’t solve anything?
Thank u so much, I got mine back on the first method. I am so happy I did this myself. thank u again. Maybe I'll remember to do this if it should happen again. UA-cam is my Life. I get the very best movies, u have to look though.
Wow! Thank you, unplugging and holding the power button really works!! I felt nervous because my tv just turned black, and thought that it is broken. It is okay now! ❤❤ Thank you so much!!
Thank you! The screen turned on after the 1st try!🎉
Thank you so much 😢 I was suffering with my tv all the day till I watched your video..I opened it from the play button thanks 😊
thank you ❤️it worked.i couldn't fixed it for 5 hours and now you solved my problem
This just happened to me today - there seems to be a defect with these Samsungs screens with a loose connection somewhere inside the case. Try grabbing the TV on each upper corner and give it a little shake, almost like your tugging and pushing one hand vs the other - you may have to jiggle it a little harder than you would expect, but if you do it hard enough you’ll see some flickering of the screen and if you get it just right the screen will stay on. Totally whack - this is definitely a defect and the techs providing phone support don’t know about it (or aren’t saying). Either way, try it and report back if it works for you - spread the word. Good luck!
YES! I just needed to give my TV a couple shakes, darkness went away afterwards. Thank you
That didn't work for me either.....thanks alot...🤦♀️
Yeah sometimes it works for me.
Percussive maintenance
@@NickNackStak tough love works? dayum son ;O who would have thought u'd have to pull a mcgyver trick to get it to work.
Second method worked for me, thank you so much
I have the exact same tv, bought it february last year and now i have a black screen. I tried you methods but no succes. My standby light blinks red wen i want to turn on tv and thats the only sign of life it shows
I can confirm it works on All android TVs, I have a Grundig and it worked. I didn't know I had to hold that button for that long.
I think the backlights went out on my 10 months old Samsung 65" It comes on but screen is too dim to watch anything. I've tried factory reset, unplugging etc... I'm probably going to avoid buying Samsung brands in the future.
Did you try adjusting the backlight?
@@damatriarch06 how do you adjust the backlight?
Backlight open circuit is a common issue in Samsung televisions.. they are in series connection so you have replace all the backlights (replaceable).. don't change only one led.. it shows the difference in brightness on the screen..
But here the problem is not same.
Thank you so much for your explanation, I have just resolved my issue after following your video
Works for Roku T.V. also. Thank you so much.
Nice info for the Samsung TV user's.👍
Thankyou very much this really worked 🎉🎉
Thanks for sharing the second tip really worked 🥳🙌🏽
Stupid Samsung TV bedroom
It actually did work thansk ❤
Am I doing something wrong here because I tried all the steps and it’s still not working like I can hear it com on and see when the screen flicker but it still won’t come up
Why try the step 5 times? And what does the circut breaker do?
Bro first tech fix that actually worked for me in one go on youtube this manz a life saver frfr
Thanks bro your 1st trick was worked just brilliant. Thanks a lot very much can I like your video more than 1 time.🎉
I'm already short-out this problem by your video, Nice and correct information❤️👌👌.
Thanks for help🙏🙏
It worked for me.. thank you so much 🙏❤️
Thank you soo much dude… this really helped.. the first option itself worked for me…!! But I wonder why this particular models are having such issues.. the last time same model, i got the displayed free of cost cos all of a sudden within 1 year lines got generated on the screen… and now after 4 years THIS…
Wonder if samsung is aware of this issue😢
Thank you!!! Took 3 circuits but it’s working now!!!
Thank you!!! After much frustration with the online user manual and "official" troubleshooting guide, this fixed it.
Thank you so much ♥️ my husband is now so happy 😊
You are a GENIUS! Thank you SOOOOOOOO much!!! Its back on now! You're the best!!!
I appreciate you for this. This helped me so much and saved me lots of money. Thnx🙏
It worked for me after I flipped the circuit breaker on & off for the tv and pushing the button. Thank you so much!!!
Which circuit breaker
Did you watch the video? @@saminathanmuniyasamy4630
She’s referring to the one in the electrical cabinet that controls the outlet your TV is plugged into. Cheers 😊@@saminathanmuniyasamy4630
Thanks bro. Its working and you solve my problem again thanks
Iam held that button for 15 days. Now my TV is working.
Second one worked for me. Thx! Samsung MU8000 55 inch.
This worked!! thank you so much!! ❤ you’re the best, coming straight out of Jamaica
Stupid Samsung TV
Thanks buddy my tv working after watching thi vidoe
Thank you so much, I didn't believe it would work but it did. I'm so grateful 🙏
Great video, have a nice week👍
My 75 inch Samsung tv that’s mounted on the wall, was literally fine then made this crazy loud popped went black screen and is dead! Is it the power supply I don’t understand. I’ve owned dozen of different kinds of tv’s never had this happened before
Thank you....worked for me !
Life saver! Thanks a lot for sharing this!
AND THERE I THOUGH I DID SOMETHING AS ITS NOT WORKING BUT THANK YOU ❤❤❤ THIS HELPED A LOT
why would you look at circut breaker, the tv has sound so its getting power, right? or am i missing something ?
This fix allows the tv to reboot. Just like computer reboots.
After years with an older TV, a month ago I bought my first Samsung TV and this happened today. Unplugging and replugging did the trick but after all the money I spent for an expensive, up to date TV, WHY DID THIS HAPPEN?? Thank you for any answer you can give me.
It happens sometimes could also be the plug that u have it plugged into if its not giving enough power it will slowly wear on the TV more and more
@@garrit_8642 Thank you for the info. It's just surprising to me because I've never had a "smart" TV and spent a lot of money only to seemingly have it cause problems I've never had with traditional older model TV's. It's frustrating and disappointing. But thank you for taking the time to help! 😊
did your power go out before this happened. mine did yesterday and last night screen went black, this happened to me once last year too but couldnt remember what i had to do to fix it!
@@pattieaguilar Don't know if you were replying to me or someone else but no, no problem with the power. TV just acting weird but it's getting better, at least, fingers crossed! Thanks for your suggestion!
Stopped buying Samsung
Thank you so much for your kind information.... I will try this and really it works... My tv was on😊
Thank you
Before doing the circuit breaker hack shoukd the tv be unplugged or plugged in?
For people who still have this issue, breaking the circuit while keeping the TV plugged and ON did the trick for me.
Thank you so much. Pushing the button worked.
Thanks bro, I did the second method and it work appreciate it ❤
Thank you so much , just try it and it works
Thank you very much brother... It worked you are genius 👍
Thank you so much! Managed to get our tv back on with your instructions
Great to hear!
Thank you so much, my TV is back on. U saved us
Thanks , working
Thank you, you saved us from buying a new TV!!
Thank you! This video saved me money....
Thanks so much !!!! you saved my TV :)
Tv just started flickering on and off I’m never buying a Samsung again. Just a few months out of warranty yoo
Having the same problem how did you resolve it
@@kudziemartins9564 I didn’t unfortunately. Tried to keep resetting my tv and letting it sent unplugged for a day but it never fully came back on. Bought a new one a few days later
That’s exactly what happened to me too. It was a month out of warranty and it started flickering on and off by itself and the whole screen went black, but you could still hear sound.
@@culture.creative yeah I ended up having to just throw it out couldn’t fix it and they wanted to charge me like $300 for having them come fix it when a new tv is $500 lol
Thank you, it fixed pur problem 👍🏽
Amazing this holding button for a minute worked a treat . Thank you so much sir . Love from England 👍
Stupid Samsung TV
Thanks man for saving me from heart attack lol
AND YALL STILL SAY SAMSUNG IS “THE BEST”.. I’m donating this piece of sh*t
Thanks mate you are amazing 😅😅
Thank you Gandolf! Your Lord of the Rings Magic saved me $2000 on my Samsung tv that I am gifting to my father in law as an early Christmas present to upgrade my setup! The only problem is the hospital bill I acquired due to reconstructive sphincter surgery!🤪
Lol
Its working 😅😅 thanks buddy
Thank you so much! This really helped me!
Screaming bot
Thank you, your video saved my tv as well (:
I tried all of this more then 5 times and I didn’t have any luck. I’m part of the 25% that was left angry and because of that I punched my Samsung 65” and you know what? That fixed it! So if your like me punch the back of your 600 dollar tv and hope and pray
U have to look behind your tv thru the cord and make sure it’s connected
Thank bro , it is really useful trick
