I got my kit and with this video I was able to completely rebuild the mechanics of my dryer. By the way, I am 72 year old female and if I can do it with this anyone can. Great video.

Just wanted to say thanks for this video! I'm a middle-aged female who has no experience whatsoever in dryer repair. My dryer was squealing and was inoperable. So I got the kit and followed your directions, and Walla(!), my dryer is fixed! Not sure exactly what was causing the noise, but I guess it doesn't matter! Lol! So, thanks again for your help :-)

An EXTREMELY helpful and well-produced video. It showed absolutely every step with clear commentary.
The only time I got into trouble was my own fault when I thought I remembered the next step - the removal of the main ball joint at the back of the drum - and that led to my cutting my fingers on a sharp edge at the back of the cabinet.
IF I'd followed the instructions faithfully and left the ball joint attached to the drum, that wouldn't have happened! Motto: Follow instructions!

Ouch! I hope your fingers are alright!

I don't have a dryer repair kit yet, but was wondering if wheel beraing white grease would work for a standby? Great video. Thanks

Parts worked great but they weren't what was causing my loud humming noise after the dryer runs for a few minutes. I'm thinking the brushes on the motor looked almost worn off so maybe that is it..

You can also check the drum rollers and slides. Those will cause loud noises if they're wearing out.

great video. How do you replace the felt in the rear? It ripped and got jammed, and the drum would not spin. I removed the felt and the sheet metal staples and I can't find any part to replace it with. Thank you.

Did you figure this out? To my knowledge there is absolutely no felt anywhere in the back. Only the felt around the opening inside the door. Maybe you had lint build-up! 😆

Thanks for making this video! I have a Frigidaire Gallery stackable dryer just like what you have in the video and it is squeaking now so I took it apart following your directions. However, I cannot take out the big drum. It seems to be very securely attached to the back wall of the dryer. Yours seem to come out without much effort. Any ideas why mine might be stuck? Thanks!

If the rear bearing is worn, the ball may become stuck in the bearing; in that case, you will have to pull up with some force to release it. Be sure to use gloves when trying to lift the tub up, as the metal is sharp. Make sure there is not a bracket secured above the bearing in the back of the dryer. If there is, you will need to remove it so the ball will come out of bearing. Most models do not have this but it's worth mentioning it in case your model does.

Where do you find the model number and where did you purchase your kit?

my dryer gets hot but it doesn't get a chance to dry my clothes before timer dings and it shuts off, now that you have shown me how to get into it where do I go from here. I am older with a fixed income so I am trying to fix myself

cbzoo813 Try using a timed dryer cycle. The auto-dry cycle is often regulated by the cycling thermostat and some moisture sensor bars.

cbzoo813 So you're saying the time still advances too quickly in timed dry mode? We would need your model number to give specific suggestions.
