This process is going to be the same on most model dryers. If you have a dryer that the drum is not tumbling, a broken belt could be the issue.
Anytime you are working on an Appliance, you should unplug it from the wall for your safety.
First step in this video is identifying that you have a dryer with a broken belt.
Next step is the disassembly process. You'll need to know how to take apart the dryer so you can replace the belt and give a good cleaning too, once your inside.
Then I show you how to put the new part on and connect it to the motor and idler pulley.
After that, I reassemble the dryer and give a test to make sure it's working properly and the repair was successful.

Thanks so much Bill. I needed to replace my blower wheel and housing, but not one person told you how to really get the drum out of the dryer. It looked so easy like you just pulled it, and out it came. Well not on mine! I had the back of the drum attached on mine, Most of them just had the sides without the back attached. And no one ever mentioned about pulling it upwards to get it out of the ball housing. I wound up taking the entire back apart and couldn't get it back in. Thanks so much for your video...and by the way I like the narrative without the background music..You can focus more, and I also prefer watching you put it all back together, again, kind of refreshes the memory :)
Just finished fixing my back ball bearing to get rid of a loud squeak we tried to ignore for a long time. Really appreciate your videos! SUPER HELPFUL! THANK YOU BILL!
My daughter and I tackled this repair today. Thanks for the link to the part and the video, both made the repair so much easier! The only trouble we ran into was tightening the screws between the drum and the part with the ball. Thanks a ton for making this video!
Finally someone with a good how to video and link for the part. My belt just broke now ik how and what to do and where to the part. Thank you so much
Thank you so much for the step-by-step instructions. It gave me brownie points with my wife. Maybe I’ll get lucky tonight.😉
This instructional video is just what this gal needed. Can't wait to get my dryer up and running again. Just fixed my old Frigidaire frontloading washer that wouldn't spin. Now this. Thank you!
Thanks. You are the Bob Ross off repairs.
Great video - thanks!! One shortcut, after removing the front panel, the belt can be put on from the front, without having to remove the drum.
I watched this video and got my dryer working again in under an hour. Thank you, BIll!
Just replaced the belt on my dryer happen to have the exact same one. Great video made the job doable for sure!!
Thanks for the informative video! I was able to follow your steps to replace the ball joint easily. Good time to clean out the vent and prevent fires, too.
Thanks Bill, always good to learn from you.
Nice video helped alot! belt replaced, lint cleaned and also clean the removal filter screen ours had fine lint really inhibiting good air flow, sos pad and water. Dryer is back in operation. $10 for a belt and some of my time.
FABulous! Just fabulous! Just what I needed to fix my squeaky Affinity. Your rear drum bearing kit video dovetails nicely with this one. Very cool. Thanks for sharing your expertise.
Thanks for this! Replacing my belt, on this same exact dryer as we speak!
An excellent step by step video! Many thanks for posting this one.
Thank you so much this works perfectly for my Frigidaire Affinity!
Thanks Bill, very useful and easy.
Very helpful and simple to follow. Appreciate the video, thanks!
Nice job on the video. Very easy to follow. I am ordering the ball/support part to hopefully stop the squeaking.
Thanks
Awesome!
Thanks for the very informative video. It really helped me
Thank you so much!!!! I was able to fix my dryer without calling a repair man.
Excellent video! Thank you.
Thanks so much for your video. I have followed your instructions and I'm almost done, but I cannot get the pulley on my machine to lift up so I can thread the belt through. Any tips for me? WD-40? A gentle hammer? I am a 73 year old single woman trying to save a few bucks. I hate to call a repair man when I have done 95% of the work, but 95% doesn't get my dryer working.
Great video! Thank you Bill!
Thank for the great info 😊
Good job, good video. Really helped me out. Thank you
Well done, thank for the video
Thank you very good video helped me lots
Thanks for this video. Getting ready to replace the rear bearing on my dryer, and this will definitely come in handy. WE ARE!
Did you replace the belt too, or just the bearing? I see they sell a kit and was just wondering if it was necessary/ good practice or if it's more- if it's not broke, don't fix it? lol
Maggie Carranza I replaced the belt and bearing. Unfortunately, I must have done something wrong because when I started it back up, there was a hellacious noise. After taking things back apart, I found the the heating coil had wrapped around the drum. I just ended up buying a new dryer after that.
This was so helpful thank you so much for this
Great video! Thanks for sharing! It helps me fix mine😀

I’m a retired Sears service tech and this is a newer version that I’ve serviced. It’s very informative on how this is done.Good job.
Would this pertain to all frigidaire frontload dryers? Or are these instructions model-specific?
i have a frigidaire stackable dryer and washer and the dryer just completely stopped working before it use to make a loud squeaky noise when it try running it now it just grinds and wont spin any advice thnx
Bill Thanks for the info! I replaced everything inside Bearing .belt arm felt etc...and everything went in great but my machine is still loud. the only thing left is the motor. it seems to run well but should it be oiled or greased ? Not sure what else to do.
I found out I had lint accumulating on one side of blower fan ..cleaned it out nice runs great!!!!
Bill, I have done everything as directed for changing the belt. There is a little plastic piece at the front of the dryer that appears to be what the drum sits on. I cannot get that piece to sit properly. And the drum sits at an angle. Any help would be appreciated.
Great video...make sure your belt grooves are down! :-)
Do you know what "E64 call service" means? Dryer stops mid cycle, and shows that code. Then press cancel and restart. What does it sound like the problem is to you? thanks
Thx a Ton
good one...
thx bill
I have taken My Electric 2007 Frigidaire Gallery apart about 6 years ago, I fought like HEL...UM...HECK.. because there wasn't a lot of UA-cam videos (or I didn't think of it) - Back then My Heater element had broken which made a really cool spark show...I replaced the Back Bearing and Belt, and the front glides..buuut now its squealing like a very loud backup beeper...So I think it's time for New Bearing, Glides, Felts, Belt (why not for 10 bucks), Idler Pulley, and Pulley spring... I am thinking the only parts left to fail after this, is the Motor and Blower assembly... But if I can get another 3-5 years out of this 16 year old machine, It will be a classic...and will need restoration...HAHA...No, at that point I will replace it!
Do you have a link to the replacement belt?
Mine is making a thud noise when I spin it . How would I go about fixing this
I did all that now when I turn it on it sparks, can u tell me why?
my dryer won't spin and just opened it and the belt is in tact? What else should i check
Something seems to be holding the drum in. I played around with it for some time, but no luck.
robalan57 lift up on back it rides in a pocket
What if it acted like the belt was broke but it wasn't?
That wasn’t fighting, you shoulda seen me fighting to get the dang front on today. Oh lord it was not working with me 😊
Not even close to a Stackable Frigidaire Dryer, what good is the search
Did I get ripped off my handy man charged $60
nope
