Hop contact time is something I've never heard before and it makes a lot of sense. Flaked might work for fresh 5 gallon batches still but I have seen many clear hazy beers in cans. Right on!
Sorry, but I don't agree with the low color bit. I have had Julius and two of its variations, it's the color of orange juice and it tastes like it. Also, having had plenty of the low color NEIPAs, I absolutely loathe the vegetal taste that Pilsner bases are a vehicle for. IMO, Pilsner doesn't belong in anything but German beer styles.

You're right and wrong at the same time. Taste is subjective. I love using pils malt as a base for all IPA types.
Pilsner is one of the most used grains so using it just in German styles is laughable.
