Jonathan explained what is "the nothing" he is referring throughout the album. From what he told in an interview, the nothing is something that keeps following him and is responsible for everything wrong in his life. He refers to that entity as the nothing.
HenKaya Thank you for telling this, I hadn't seen the interview, but whats weird is that I got the sense that was what he was referring to or about!!!
I thought it was about death, I didn't know. Thank you.
He borrowed it from the Neverending Story :)

Me too!! Lol
You got that shit right this album takes me back to my teen years
I'm 40 can't believe it made a good album very close to the first three
@Jacob Mason if you're listening to Korn and you like the first three albums you can just imagine
@Jacob Mason man you just don't know I've been a child of the corn since your age the new album sounds just like old school Korn
Jonathan outdid himself with the vocals on this album. The screams are actually ridiculous. And the guitar work is the heaviest they’ve done in years.
Yesh
I think Head did back up vocals like he did on the earlier albums.
I'd say the Serenity of Suffering is heavier, however this is darker. In fact their 3 most recent albums are the best in a long time.
Yes
@@chickentoast2655 w8 this album and the last one are amazing. But the first and second album are better than these?
Really digging the new Korn. I hate that Jonathan had to lose so much, to produce such a good album for our enjoyment.
That is my thought as I listen to each song. I feel like I hate that I enjoy it so much. I feel could live without the album if he could have her back, but for every person that finds healing through listening, I guess it's worth it.
I'm a newbie to KoRn. What happened, who did Jonathan lost?
Darui Raikage his wife
It's the same with songs like Daddy and Kill You. I hate what he had to go through to feel those emotions on those songs, but it is so damn amazing as music.

Another masterpiece by Korn, ignored by the corporate music industry
Didn't really come as a surprise
why would you want Korn to be in the light? I'm confused, they were why we all stayed away from mainstream.

Lyrics:
And the dark seems to light my way
And the path is deceiving
And the end is so far away
It might just defeat me
But I gotta take my time
And I won't let it take me away
And it never got the best of me
Don't do it
Don't give in
Won't you ever get it?
Won't you ever get it?
You've chose to walk a thin line
Replaced the hurt without healing mine
You hold disgust in your heart, you just fucked with me
Idiosyncrasy
In my heart lies a blackened rage
Sometimes it overtakes me
Why the fuck did I run away?
My shadow is waiting
But I gotta face the facts
Of a twisted reality
And it never got a hold of me
Don't do it
Don't give in
Won't you ever get it?
Won't you ever get it?
You chose to walk a thin line
Replaced the hurt without healing mine
You hold disgust in your heart, you just
Fucked with me, idiosyncrasy
You chose to walk a thin line
Replaced the hurt without healing mine
You hold disgust in your heart
You just fucked with me, idiosyncrasy
Crawling down the path, I'm helpless, reaching for the light I see
Every time I get too close, the light proceeds ahead of me
Digging deep, I take a step, standing up, I take a breath
Running towards the light, I feel the fingers wrapped around my neck
God is making fun of me
He's laughing up there, I can see
God is making fun of me
He's laughing up there, I can see

His voice when he says “see” at exactly 3:43 is like a hopeless pain filled kind of rage. It’s incredible

Jonathan Davis is just an amazing person. His lyrics are so deep and I'm sure just like myself people can relate to what he sings about. Thanks for doing what you do Jonathan.

Best album Korn has released ever since Untouchables. Wow.
@Joshua Faulkner man shut the fuck up If you don't like the new shit why you here then?
@Joshua Faulkner that album is my favourite from korn
Thank you very much
Ehhhh.
This has the older Korn sound in my opinion mixed with a touch of Johnathan's solo creations good job guys!
Team Underground nope. Not at all. This is weird . The first five albums were legit...... then it just had a good song or two in each album 🤷🏽♂️
@@acatnamedscamper3307 Korn was always "weird". But that's what I've always loved about them.
Cat named Scamper actually, I liked Take a Look in The Mirror for the most part as well. After that, KoRn really fell off the wagon and never felt to evolve much, especially lyrically. However, with that being said, I do dig what I’ve heard musically more than lyrically and at times vocally thus far. KoRn seems the need to put pop sensibility into their choruses. I don’t care for that.
“Can You Hear Me” is probably my favorite thus far.
@@fansee1368 What the fuck. How can people think this sounds like Untouchables? This is the most Metal Core-like album from Korn ever. The refrain of this song sounds a bit like Take a look in the mirror, bit it has its very own sound. Especially because Jonathans voice (when he's not screaming) sounds very clear (which I don't like that much.
@@davemaytree2697 Because of the synthesizers and the musical structure in songs like Can You Hear Me. It gives off an Untouchables vibe.
