    I've loved the look of the Insignia ever since it first came out, and today I bought a 66-plate 2.0 CDTi Auto Elite Nav Sports Tourer. It's absolutely marvellous so far. Even on the optional 19" wheels, the ride is good. Maybe not in line with competitors, but it's all relative. Upgrading from a smaller car, I've noticed nothing but improvements! Headroom in the back in the Sports Tourer is also very good as it (naturally) does away with that sloping roofline. You also don't have that big load lip. The post-facelift navigation is also the same system as in the current generation of Vauxhalls. Speedy interface, excellent mapping, smooth frame-rate, Onstar, and Apple Car Play / Android Auto (which I've yet to try but will tomorrow!). Delighted with my purchase so far.

    My dad got the Vauxhall Insignia SRI CDTI ecoflex 2015 model and we love it. Its similar to the Vauxhall Vectea SRI estate he had 15 years ago. He was skeptical about getting one as there's been mechanic's that have said they're a pain to maintaine but I think you should look for yourself and drive it before you rule it out. Ours doesn't have leather seats but it's extremely comfortable on long journey. I'm 6 foot 1 or 2 and headroom in the back doesn't affect me as there's loads of room. I call ours the Vectra Insignia naming it after it's predecessor.

    Nicely filmed I can say as a broadcast cameraman. However the 'Bumps no longer shudder through your spine like the last model' erm? I've a MY2011 Insignia 2l 160 TDI SRi Nav estate and that's never been an issue! After a few hours of hand held camerawork can say the seats are as good as my previous Volvo V70 D5 SE MY2004 and the ride is as good. Ok not leather or heated but as good on a long journey which it does with ease. Good looking car, been very easy to live with, reliable, good dealer support, no rip off servicing with main dealer. Happy to buy another when I factor that all costs in, unlike Volvo.

    Good looking, lots of kit. Hope it's reliable.
    I bought a 2.0L Auto Desiel 168bhp Elite Nav 1 year ago. 104000 miles on a 14 plate. £5000.
    Very nice car. Gets 40mpg. Plenty of go. Never feels under powered. Great spec. The drawing pad is pointless. Might work better if I was left handed or in a left hand drive car. Would have preferred a wheel. The info screen is very laggy but I can live with that. Only one issue so far. The lights are meant to raise up when going over 40mph and they do but not sometimes. Will get that looked at on it's service in a few weeks. It's the top spec in the UK but no reversing camera only sensors front and back. No keyless start or entry. No sunglasses compartment. No sunroof. No lane departure warning. No stop start. No HUD. No radar control cruise. No cooled seats. US car have all these extras. Sold over there, rebadged as Buick's.
    Does have power (driver only) leather heated seats and steering wheel. Duel climate. Digital dash. Sat nav. Bluetooth. DAB radio. SD card for music option. Quiet. Huge boot. Good cupholders front and rear. Comfortable. Good mpg. Rides well. No rattles or creeks. Highly recommend.

      Needed glow plugs replacing and a pipe going to the turbo split. Both threw up warning lights. Plugs the day before it was booked in for a service. The pipe went just after, so had to go back in. These 2 jobs with a service, gearbox service and mot £1400 at Vauxhall. They picked up and returned the car. The milage is just over 112000 so I can't complain.
      Pads and disc will need doing soon.
      Still loving it.

      I can only speak of my experience, it's been a good one. I like a car fully loaded with kit so the Elite Nav with digital dash and heated steering wheel both extras is perfect for me.
      For £5000 it's been a bargain. Not sure I could have got another car with so much kit for the age and mpg on a auto (not cvt or dual clutch) for the money.
      Based on my experience would definitely recommend. Good luck.

    insignia 2016 on a 64 plate 🤔 next joke 😂 that said though, I've just upgraded from a 2016 corsa E 5dr to a 2016 insignia 2.0L cdti tech line due to the family growing. I had a shot of my uncles old 2011 insignia, good power but it handled like a bus. the facelift really got improved on the exterior and interior in my opinion. quite possibly the best looking car Vauxhall has done 🤷‍♂️

    This vehicle had a 64 plate but was meant to be a 2016 review?? Surely you should have used a newer vehicle...

    • @SpeedKingHighwayStar
      @SpeedKingHighwayStar 8 років тому

      +Shakey Kumar The facelift became available in 2013 and is still current at 2016. As you will no doubt be aware the "64" plate covers late 2014 to early 2015. The 168bhp (badged as a 170) diesel became available in 2015 and is still current at 2016. The 64 plate car in this review is the same car you will see (if a 170 diesel) or test drive if you go into a Vauxhall showroom today, February 2016. The same reviewer has also reviewed the Insignia in previous years (don't think it was a 170) so I guess to distinguish they've used the review upload timeline of January 2016. Definitely current.

    You are not exactly tall. For an avarage person, the back seats are USELESS. You can't fit in there. There is just not enough headroom.
    So this begs the question. What is this car good for? It's a 2 seater, that is bigger than most 5 seaters.

    • @SpeedKingHighwayStar
      @SpeedKingHighwayStar 8 років тому +5

      +ast5515 What are you transporting - GIRAFFE'S?!! Never had a problem, including tall passengers in the rear seats, even with 3 in the back, their comment to me was "loads of room".

    • @ast5515
      @ast5515 8 років тому

      SpeedKingHighwayStar Sitting like people normally do results in OK-ish headroom. But try actually sitting straight.
      And yes, the driver seat has enough headroom. But that's exactly the problem. You 2 seats where people fit. So it's a 2 seater, that's 4 meters 80 long. It's dumb.

    • @ast5515
      @ast5515 8 років тому +1

      SpeedKingHighwayStar Never said the Mondeo was better. In fact all sedans are terrible for this.
      People normally don't sit straight, because they are weak. I can't really describe it any better. Muscle tone is supposed to keep your back straight without you thinking about it. In my case, that works, because I swim and carry heavy stuff. I don't consciously try and sit straight, I sit straight without thinking about it. And if I was any taller, it would be an issue with every car, but as I am, I only have trouble in sedans.

    • @matthewdale4135

      +Sieras Dosk. I have the 13 plate model 2.0ltr Ecoflex, and I've done long journeys with 3 in the back with no complaints. The back slopes down to improve the drag, and can be a little tight in the back for us tall people, I'm 6 foot but can still sit in the back quite comfortably without to much discomfort. Not many people sit bolt upright when in a car on a long journey.
