I have a 2013 2.0 litre diesel bought it at 6 months old with 13,000 miles , it has now clocked 256,000 miles in it. Nearly all my driving is motorway. Service it every year have had the cam belt and water pump replaced at 100,000 Miles & 200,000 miles. no issues with oil seal. Update 05/05/2024 just gone over 260,000 miles
Had two insignias, a 2014 and 2016. Both fantastic cars and gave great fuel economy. Always very reliable, and lovely to drive and the hatch was really practical too. Hard wearing cars. All you have to do is service them properly. I never changed the oil seal either and my 2014 one is still going with it's new owner with over 240,000 miles on it.
Bought a late 2010 2.0 Sri petrol turbo in the summer. Only had 25K on the clock. I'm absolutely loving the car and as a bonus it's surprisingly quick.
@zarrow50 You won’t regret it, I’ve got the same but a 2016 model with the black grill instead of the chrome, otherwise same as yours SE model estate. What engine did you get?
I can't seem to kill my petrol 2008 Vectra SRI - will buy an Insignia next most likely, they are dirt cheap due to badge snobbery tbh, they are particularly hardy reliable cars, especially the petrols.
@@deanskidmore4495 Excellent! Mine is on 151,000, so few behind yours - only really had coolant issues tbh with it, all that has recently been overhauled due to leaks - all was cheap to replace.
The rubber seal in the oil pump hardens overtime, especially with improper DPF burning. Adviseable to change it every 60k km. However, many users reports that their engine seized despite replacing the seal. Most likely the pump itself is flawed, especially oil pressure valve that leads to oil starvation and ultimately seizure.
Hi, could you tell me if I can get the key to the car, they sell me a 2012 car at a good price but it doesn't have a key. If it is a normal or censored key??
They look ok but are a pretty boring drive, my old V6 Mondeo was better on the road. I service a 2013 2.0 cdti one for a friend, it hasn't needed much in 7 years...alternator pulley went a few years ago and a front spring last week for mot... headlights were misted up but i took the rear caps/bulb covers of the lights and they were crystal clear in a day.
Can't say I've had that experience. I've owned 3 and not had any major issues. Like any car, if you take good care of it, and service it at the proper intervals with good parts and oil, it will serve you well. I've had a number of Ford's that everyone always raves about though and none of them were reliable. Mk3 Mondeo, 2013 Focus etc. Also very uncomfortable seats.
My brother owns One worst car i ever driven, and i have driven many cars but the comfort in insignia is Pure shit. If you like it by looks then please dont buy it just watch in your city how someone else is driving it
Electrical problems costing the value of the cheaply made salesman car many many times over on used insignias. Buyers beware. I hate this car. Designed to fail.

Is it pre-facelift or FL version and 163HP version?

I had a 2009 one, and now a 2016 one, briliant on all levels, especially performance, not to mention it is abeauty

For the power they put out all Insignias are quite slow lol
I'm tempted to buy one but the one I'm looking at is 1900kg's!
I have 2009 model same as in video on 222,500 miles now great car
Have you had the cam belt done?
What engine do you have?
Getting this car tomorrow this thing literally caught my eye and I don’t even know it was a Vauxhall at first inside looks so sleek.
It's literally didn't.
That was a nice review. Informative without the nonsense
Glad you liked it!
Had mines for nearly a year no issues at all
Just brought a 2013 SE Insignia Estate, No badge snobbery as yet as its fell of the front grill.

Sorry for asking, I'm from Holland: What is "badge snobbery"? People prefer to drive other brands I'm guessing?
@@omarf2406 Yep! Wasn't helped by Jeremy Clarkson slagging of earlier Vauxhalls on Top Gear TV show.
i have a 2008 sri too great cheap motoring 230,000 miles on the clock runs with no problems or rattles just keeps going!

Those cars have a critical flaw in the oil pump pickup seal that destroys the engine when it fails, this is not mentioned in the service bulletins.
Petrols or diesels?
Diesels
@@safianhamid886 Diesels are GM engines made in Italy, not developed in Germany by Opel.
Could have something to do with it.

Really Sleek..Please how do i get some of the engine for the petrol????
hello, I would like to ask you if it is a good car because I would like to buy a car from Asta, seriously it's good car
Loved the vauxhall cavalier we had years ago. Went off Vauxhall with a money pit zafira. Dont trust Vauxhall after that.

Opel no comfort insigna in particular don’t try please go for Astra or vectra but this insignia don’t
Only good thing about insignia is its good looks. Reliability is absolutely horrendous be it electrics or mechanics.

@@gary-361agreed. I've had 2 2013 focus....both catastrophic ending.
Fuse for heater
I wonder what the weak points are about this car.
Oil seal pick-up.
Will brick the engine on the diesels if not addressed in a timely manner. 'Oil pressure low' on start ups is the warning its time.
